    I have the original 4 FliHi with my 225's in 5-GW. The 225 4 iron didn't carry far enough for me hence the FliHi. These are great irons to blend with your set, particularly if you aren't a hybrid fan.

    I've got the old one (3iron) it blends so well with my 225 4 and 5 iron. I don't see my bag changing because i'm playing my best golf when i put my bag together last year. 223 down to gw. All time low round level par in a tournament. Started that as a 7.9 hdc.

      Had a fitting today for a utility iron (looking mainly at 2-irons) and found the fli-hi was much better distance wise, felt faster off the face and felt great off the deck. The I-crossover was slightly more forgiving but was a fair bit shorter distance wise, but that might just be me.

    • @clarkeyw2000
      @clarkeyw2000 5 месяцев назад

      @@adambarnes4191 yeah I tested both. found that the u505 was more forgiving off the tee and looked a bit kinder than the fli-hi, but had a thicker sole so was harder to hit off the deck. it was really tough to decide between the two but I felt I would get more use out of the fli-hi and it would still suit my game as I got better, whereas the u505 may fall out of favour. I would definitely recommend going to try them both out if you get the chance as they are a bit different, and for me trying different shafts made a big difference 🙂

    Hi Jay, nice review. Rather than comparing to the 22 version, how does this compare vs. a similarly lofted st230 or st230 max hybrid? is it longer or more forgiving for example? Unless you expressly don't like hybrids then this looks like a niche product for the faster swinger. I have a sneak feeling this might win for distance though.

      @@lkae4 as Mizuno has learned and stated more and more golfers are swinging steep so the turf interaction has become critical. Srixon really jumped on it before Mizuno did. Handicap isn’t the best way to measure who fits what anymore and that’s why their swing analyzer is such a key component.

    • @lkae4
      @lkae4 6 месяцев назад

      @@thomasgodfrey758 Yes, I have 243s and I love the sole improvements for diggers. It's been a revelation. I hit the pin the other day from 140. I think that's the first time ever not including my two holes in one. But a narrower sole doesn't help with steep swings. And I agree, swing speed determines iron type as we see all the +5s on the LPGA playing cavity back irons. But most 20 handicaps aren't carrying 7 iron 150+ on average. They're probably carrying 7 iron 130 to 135 on average. So forgiveness will help.

    I'm very late to this video so suspect I won't get a reply now but trying anyway. Firstly, thanks Jay for the fantastic content as always. This is a club I've always been interested in. I'm considering the 2 iron (16.5*) and would really only use it off the tee (I have no confidence with driver). Would you expect it to go further than a 5 wood and would you expect it to be easier to hit than a 3-wood? My swing speed is 86mph with 7i and I typically hit my 5-wood 235 yards total.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi George, I would say that it may be easier to strike the centre due to the slightly shorter shaft than that of the 3 Wood. Miss strikes however may see a little more drop off due to the lack of Roll and Bulge on the face and also the CG of a 3 wood is lower and further back than the 2i.
      Saying that, I have seen myself with golfers, that some just get on better with Long Irons and Driving Irons in particular so for those golfers, absolutely I would say that its a worth while endeavour 👍

    My average swing speed for a driving iron is around 92 mph. I’ve lost all confidence in my driver so I’ve been using a pxg 3 iron off the tee, would the mizuno fli hi 24 be a lot better option especially with the dry summer months coming and the fairways starting to get firm?

      @@AskGolfNut Yes I suppose to get reasonable stopping power. For that you should have ideally over 45 degrees descent angle right? So seemingly you could at least be using the 4 iron version at your speed. So maybe 10-15 mph more for the 2 iron?

      @AskGolfNut  6 месяцев назад

      @freddym6643 anything 40 degrees and over is sufficient, obviously the more the better, but you'd have to be high 90s 7 iron speed to have a functional flight on a 2 Iron 👍🏻

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  6 месяцев назад +2

      In all honesty, no DLR can match the design of a hybrid, no different that a hybrid can't beat a fairway wood for pure ball dynamics. But they are all designed for different flights and also uses. The new Fli Hi is very much for the golfer that doesn't like hybrids or fairways woods possibly and needs something that just works the best it can from the fairway and also off the tee 👍🏻
