These made perfect gifts for all of my grandchildren. The boys got space or camo fabric depending on their ages and the girls got different colored fabrics depending on their favorite activities. They were fun to make and the kidlets can put anything they want to in them. I did make mine a little larger than yours so they could hold slightly bigger things. Thanks so much for sharing this terrific project with us all.
I so enjoy watching the little snippets of video that you leave for all of us on such important, but easily overlooked lessons! Lessons that we need to pay close attention to so they become automatic to us when we sew. These are the little details that make the difference between polished sewing and messy, rushed sewing projects.
Love making these. I have made them for friends and family and also filled them for back to school bags with personal hygiene items for my granddaughters. I made some to raise funds for my oldest granddaughter Emma's swimming club. Thank you so much for the excellent video. Just made another two today as thank you gifts. Best wishes, Louisa
Thank you so much for watching, and we're so glad you like the video. It sounds like you've made such beautiful gifts for so many people! Your granddaughters are lucky to have you.
I just made this pouch for the first time yesterday. it turned out beautifully. thank you for your tutorial and for all the little things you point out as you teach, especially when you covered the zipper part, and the corners. I could not have confidently done this project without your excellent demonstrations and explanations.
I have to make one of these for my husband....will use a manly fabric of course. He has a leather travel bag from years ago that has deteriorated to the point of no return. Since it became unusable, he keeps his travel accessories in a zip lock baggie (Shabby, but not so Chic)! This box pouch will be the perfect remedy for him.
Thanks for the tutorial. You made it so easy. The other tutorial with a lining for the bag had me confused. Blessings for you 🙏 you have saved my sanity.
jeniffer you are too good , i watch all your videos regularly and i do appreciate you for your perfection and minute precession of work.Thank you once again
Thank you so much. Granddaughter and I have made tissue pouches without zippers as a first project for her to learn and I'm so pleased to be able to take her to the next level. This is perfect.
OMGoodness. I'm gonna have to make a few for Christmas. When you just see them, they are intimidating, but you have broken it down so many of us can take on this project. Thank you.
Absolutely enjoyed this, Ms. Jennifer. I'll gladly skip house chores to watch you play while I learn. I'm a subscriber for sure and I can't wait to make this as your technique is faster than others I've viewed thus far! Thanks for sharing.
Excellent close ups and detail of how you do things. Just finished my first two bags using your instructions and I used 4 pieces of Pellon 808 craft fuse, one on each piece of outer fabric, and one on each piece of lining fabric. I also made a base piece for the inside of the bag bottom covered in lining fabric in order to give the bag a bit more cushion and washability if I spill something in the bottom, so I wouldn't necessarily have to launder the entire bag. I did each corner one at a time per your suggestion, then turned the bag right side out to make sure the boxing maneuver was correct before cutting excess fabric off of the corners. Good thing because I had goofed up on one of the corners and if I had cut I wouldn't have had a way to correct my mistake. This way I could take out those stitches and re-box that corner. Thank you for your close up camera shots and excellent detail.
Thank you SO much for sharing this with us! It is so important to be adaptable as quilters and sewists! It is great to hear that your bag turned out well :)
That is awesome! I hope to have time to make a couple this year for Christmas! I love your teaching, I don't get bored with "needless" talking. Everything you say is important and helpful! The best part it didn't cost me anything for the tutorial!
So, so glad you appreciate our tutorials +Wanda White! Thank you so much for watching and leaving this kind comment. Hopefully you get a chance to make some of these fun little bags!
I'm so excited to make this bag! I've seen them but not made on until today! I'm so grateful for your video! Your RUclips instructions are so clear and easy to follow and you have a great "eye" for adorable and Shabby Chic items. I've been recovering from an intense surgery and a lot of meds so following your instructions are the perfect Rx to exercise this ole noggin. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for this kind comment +Patsysmatsy! You will love making these bags and won't be able to stop at just one! Good luck on your road to recovery- so glad we can be there to help!
Hi Jennifer, it's me again....LOL...so my hubby is a huge fan of Star Wars, found the new BB-8 star wars materiel and I made him your favorite pouch. Oh man, he went crazy over it he loves it...thank you again for the tutorial....smooches
Hi Jenny I've been watching your boxed zipper pouch and have made one for a neighbour. It is very easy. Thank you for such a clear tutorial. Most of the women in my family will be getting one for Christmas along with a few other handmade items. Just absolutely love your videos. Best wishes Colin
That is awesome to hear! These little boxes are so fun to make and such an impressive gift! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment :)
Your instructions and visual are EASY to follow! I've purchased mini sew5 machine to teach myself to sew and came across your channel. I've been watching them back to back. I am so inspired after watching your videos because now I KNOW I can do it! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I am a very happy and excited new subscriber.
I love seeing all the different ways of making these zipper pouches! So adorable and practical for everyone on our gift lists all throughout the year!! Thank you! ♥️🌟🎄🌟♥️
I just finished the aqua tote!! It is beautiful!! The instructions were excellent with precise information and photos. If you don't have the Flex N More ruler, GET IT!! It makes quick work of perfect cutting. Also I would recommend the marking pens that Jennifer suggests. Wow, how did I live without one of these?? Super great at marking and then I just iron and my markings disappear!! I can't wait to give this beauty to my daughter for Christmas!! Thank you!!
That is so great to hear +Debsami! We love knowing that our instructions were easy to follow and the tools we suggested were helpful! It's always fun adding new tools to your supplies isn't it? Feel free to share a photo of your finished bag with us on social media!

Thank you for a fantastic demonstration! I've watched many youtube videos on how to make a zippered box pouch and yours is by far the very best! I'm newer to sewing you I appreciate your simple-easy to follow instructions and friendly personality. Thank you again :)
This was super easy, it took all of maybe 20 mins to make one...it's cute and perfect for my contact stuff to carry w/ me...thank you once again for a great tutorial...you always do a great job...
Thank you so much for this kind comment, Karen. We're so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and found it helpful! Let us know what other videos you'd like to see. :) - Morgan
The tutorial was great. I had some trouble with the zipper, but other than that, my bag came out very nice. Thank you so much for the step by step instructions.
I made three of these lovely bags today using beautiful Liberty fabric. Might make some more tomorrow, thank you for a lovely clear video, really enjoyed it😊
Love this tutorial. I followed 2 others and ruined both because the instructions were hard to follow. I made one from your tutorial and it came out perfect! Thank you.
Great tutorial. I like the tip to sew all the way around to hold the zipper together. I have made several so far, and am planning on these being Christmas gifts for all the women in my family. THANK YOU!!!
Wow once I understood the project.....I have made about a dozen. Fun and Fast. Thank you for the great tutorial and instructions too. You made is so easy to follow.
Thank you for this video. Great tip about not sewing too close to zipper teeth....I always thought you had to sew right next to it, because leaving some exposed would be bad....this is really good!!
OM gosh this is so cute!! I made one along with you (with lots of pauses) and it was SOOOO helpful!!! I plan on making 3 more and maybe more too! Thank you so much.
Hello ladies, i really enjoyed making this bag and was so easy to follow your tutorial. I have made two of them and they turned out great. Thank you, maggie
Another great tutorial by Jen! She tells you everything you need to know and does it so clearly and precisely, a real professional! I was wondering if you could use a 10" zipper and not have to cut the ends off?
I love ❤️ that bag I can't wait to make one for my 15 year old granddaughter and one for my daughter..... I really enjoy watching your videos because you explain everything so well and you do it very slow so it makes it easy to fellow you video ..... I have seen quite of few of your videos and I have enjoyed every one of them and I can't wait to see many more ..... I have subscribed to your channel ❤️
I just made my 1st 2 bags like this. The video i watched didn't use interfacing. I should have put it on anyways. But since these were my 1st ones ever, I just followed the video. I will definitely make more using your video, and use interfacing.
I decided to get the pattern, and wait until you get the Little House on the Prairie fabrics in stock so I can make a tote for my friend (she's been so excited since I told her about the fabric). And make this zipper bag to match. I love the orange, it's inspired me to make a bag for myself in orange and black for my favorite baseball team!
I had to laugh when you talked about how when you first started quilting you didn't want to bother with pinning; then you said, "Get over it" -- and how worth it was to spend the time doing pinning because it made it so worth it in the long run vs. all the ripping of seams because things weren't lined up properly to begin with. You got that right! -- Among many other good tips here :-). In addition to making beach bag/tote bag accessory or cosmetic bags or a portable sewing kit, another idea came to my mind. Guys could use them too for what they used to call a Ditty Bag; just use "manly" fabric or a hobby/sports team/school colors for a shaving kit bag or a travel bag for socks/misc. items. For children, it could be used for small toys, matchbox cars/trucks, leggos, doll clothes, etc - let them choose the fabric's prints and they feel more like they "own" the item's purpose of tidying up, perhaps motivating them to clean up their rooms/play areas and develop good organizational habits early in life. What makes this shape so useful for a number of purposes is because the zipper opening is extended at the sides making this so much easier to place and remove items. Thanks for a very enjoyable 22 minutes with you today!
+newbeequilter you are SO right! These little bags could be used for many, many different things! We love that about this project. Thank you for taking the time to watch and for sharing all of your awesome ideas with us!
Just made my first one and it turned out so cute! Thanks for your easy to follow tutorial. I am going to make the next one a bit bigger. Love these!! p.s. Thanks for the reminder to switch back to straight from zigzag.
Jennifer, wow what a great video, so informative!! Thank you for explaining the ironing the seams, your the greatest! Thanks again, I can't wait to make one. I have to wait till the weekend, because I work all week.... :-) Cheryl Crawford

I make dozens of these bags. But instead of pins I use clips! and I use a denim needle to plow through the bulk.
Thank you for watching! So true, clips would be wonderful to use on this project!
