If the Church can change its standards then why did it not change them in the past and save a great many lives? Either changing now is inappropriate, or the failure to change in the past is unforgivable.

They are given a stipend by the the monarch who is the head of the Anglican Church. Catholic pastors must rely on the support of their parishioners. Most priests receive less than £20,000 a year which would not be sufficient to support a wife and children.
