Glad CNA hosted these 2 advisors from independent financial websites instead of FA from insurance companies. They gave valid insights and objective critiques, which is very rare nowadays. I would have immediately downvoted and closed the video if the guests start sprouting investment garbage from the likes at Aviva/Prudential/AXA/Manulife roadshows.

Most retirement plans are all ok, but if you are getting fired/laid off by the age of 50 and you still need to cover expenses by 15 to 17 years before you are 65/67 years old before you are pensioned, what to do??? It is a common mistake that most people are making: not thinking that you can get fired for once and for all and get no more job because some companies don't just simply hire old people anymore. (at least from where I live in Europe, it is VERY common)

How much money per month to get by for retirees? It depends on health condition, life style & any outstanding depth / loans. Currently, if you are healthy with no monthly long term medical expenses, and live a simple basic life of 3 meals ata day at hawker centers, HDB flat fully paid, no outstanding loans, takes public transport (MRT & buses) and may be 1 short holiday of S$800 in a year, probably S$2,000 may be possible.

You were implying that so what if it is licensed by MAS, does it make them experts? maybe you don’t understand MAS’ licensing regime, So I explained what being licensed mean, is that the company and CEO has to meet certain requirements. Then dictionary definition of expert is someone with knowledge. So it is a fact that the company here, has that knowledge. Whether a person should believe an expert or not, is up to them!
I think The reason why our govt has all these licences is for the public’s benefit, they can trust and go to the companies... if not, then why does the govt waste money and resources to develop such regimes? Then the public wouldn’t know who to believe in.
