    Since creating this video Luminar Neo has been updated and improved. You can get the newest version on sale here: bit.ly/NeoSale and maybe save more with coupon: ATNEO10 (sometimes Skylum de-activate the code if there's already a promotion running but worth giving a go!)

    You are THE Neo guru. I leaned so much more than just the "blur" tool in this video. Thank you for your contributions to the community.

    "Me doing a short video?" Ha, nice bit of self deprecation Anthony! I think videos of this length are perfect. Nice seeing your insights as usual. The bit at the end of duplicating the layer and then using a blend mode is just icing on the cake--very few other channels mention this!

    Hey fella, I big thanks goes out to you today for something I picked up from this video. The transform tool. I had this image of Dunstanburgh Castle (Northumberland) taken on a recent trip there and it was a wide angle, around 14.5mm with a Nikon 14-30 lens. I had the castle looking like the tower of pisa. However, your explanation of the transform tool has made me able to crack the problem where I was messing about with barrel and pincushion and getting nowhere, so, big thank you sir.

      You're welcome Geoff! Glad that tip has helped. Yeah, the transform tool is kinda buried away and is easily overlooked.

    Great as always. Can you use printer profiles in Luminar, like you can in Lightroom to soft proof an image? Thanks

      Hi John. No, currently no option for soft proofing with profiles.

    Since I’m ur creative consultant 😁 please allow me to give u a few suggestions:
    Would ❤ to see u delve into LUTs. I’ve found some really cool cinematic effects and I’m worried they may be a crutch.
    Not sure if u have the time, money, or patience but I’d love to see u do a series on the most beautiful landscape spots in NZ and ur approach to photographing them with a fresh approach.
    I’m enjoying ur layers technique. I would lastly like to see u tackle color grading more as well. There are so many people with interesting styles and it would be fun to see u deconstruct these styles and see how they are accomplishing their look

    • @AnthonyTurnham

      Some great ideas there 👌 thanks! Yeah, I've often thought of doing some style deconstruction videos. Who are some photographers you're thinking of?
      I've been away to a few locations and am piecing some videos together. They're very time consuming to do though, and the last couple of out and about vids really didn't do well.

    Is this a raw image? All the wonder of neo and Photoshop often evaporates if you images are not raw. Excellent video

    • @stevosd60
      @stevosd60 Год назад

      Jpg will do nothing like it. All my work is on scans of slides from 60s and 70s . Only solution is to scan in tiff but still not great
      Nope and Photoshop is sold on raw file examples. It's raw that is the mirical.....

      Neo becomes nope. 🤪
      Who invented this predictive spellie tosh !

    • @AnthonyTurnham
      @AnthonyTurnham  Год назад

      Hi Steve. You're right that of course raw capture on today's sensors give us more editing latitude. However a well scanned or captured jpeg can still benefit massively from good photo editing tools whether that be PS or Neo. For example in Neo after the initial application of DevelopRAW all subsequent tools that are added are no longer being applied to a raw file. That ship has sailed. You're now editing 16bit data just as if it were a Tiff.

      Hi. It's already uploaded to the shared folder. I have some very kind folk who support the channel through a monthly membership and they help keep the videos free for everyone. As a thank you to them, I share the photo files to a shared group folder from a lot of the tutorials / demos. If you'd like to join too, click the join button and it's the members + downloads option you'd need.

    Not obvious from the tool menu layout - but the crop tool seems to work on both layers simultaneously ...

    • @AnthonyTurnham
      @AnthonyTurnham  Год назад

      Yes you can only have one crop on any photo, but you can select and resize your layers independently though.

    Hi Anthony, nice edit. Any idea why I don't see either auto distortion corrections or auto chromatic abberations - I only see auto defringe and according to Neo and running latest version 1.13.0 - EDIT: in cast anyone else wondering I did another google search, it might be only visible in RAW not dng etc.
