Great story.....beautiful place. It's nice to see east Texas get some positive recognition . There's so much more beauty to Texas than just the hill country and west.
Nice video,,,I can't help but notice this Texas Parks and Wildlife video makes extensive use of ' Drone' footage in this state sponsored video,,,,and as I remember,,,drones are not allowed to be used in State Parks,,,,or has that 'changed'? If it has 'changed', I'd love to use my drone to capture some of these great views that they make possible !
It depends on where you are and what you're doing with the drones. Hunting or trying to photograph wildlife with drones is prohibited, but some parks allow permitted drone use under certain conditions. You'll always have to ask permission ahead of time and you have to be a certified, trained drone pilot. Lake Whitney and San Angelo are the only two state parks that have designated areas for flying remote-controlled aircraft, including drones. Our media production team is able fly drones in areas where it's normally prohibited because they work for the state and they coordinate those activities with the parks or landowners ahead of time.
@@texasparksandwildlife oh, I guess I'm just 'old fashioned!', I kinda figure if you can use a drone in a public state supported park,,,,I should be able to use a drone in a public state supported park, that's just me , I suppose.
