  • Footage of motorists tackling floods in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, this morning (January 4). On the main route into town, the A438, several drivers became stranded and had to be rescued before police closed the road. At one point, during rush hour, it was reported that only a minor road through the Priors Park housing estate was open to access the town with all other major routes hit by floods. The flood comes off the back of Storm Henk which has hit the UK in recent days.

    FS SLOW DOWN if you’re gonna drive through flood water! Why do so many clowns think it’s better to drive fast, causing a huge bow wave which floods your engine bay, destroying your engine and then your interior. Then the rest of us have to pay through increased insurance premiums.

    All those cars stuck in the water will likely be write-offs. Hydraulic lock sucking water into the car engine cylinders and ending up with bent con-rods. Car interior and electics damaged by dirty water.

    Turn around, don't drown.
    Just because some cars are getting by doesn't mean the roads are safe. Besides, that much water in the engines isn't going to be good. Corrosion will happen.

    SMH, taking the long route round may save your car engine, or even your life. Avoid driving under small bridges in a dip. The water can be much deeper than it looks, but people still risk it.....😖🙏☕️

    This happens most winters and is why you shouldn’t build on a flood plain.

      Building roads higher would help also. Can't believe roads are built declining in areas that food even a little bit. Makes no sense and a waste of money.

      I worked for the EA, terrible decision making when asked about flooding. We could hear the boats scraping on the bottom of the river due to lack of river management. And yes building on flood plains, ha who would have thought it. You have never seen fear until someone is desperate for sandbags to stop water.

    Well is this what you get for building on the flood plain at Walton Cardiff , Tewkesbury council take note but they will never admit it was a mistake to allow all the development and continue to try and cover the rest in housing .

    Don't people realise they can blow up their engines driving through that amount of water? EV's don't like water either, they can be ruined forever.

    • @CptAngelKGaming
      @CptAngelKGaming 8 месяцев назад +3

      lmao EVs couldn't care less about water. Sealed electronics and no air intake. You can literally submerge some of them.
      Only danger is to the interior.
