As an older woman, I would like to say thank to all men out there who have created this world, who maintain it, who protect their daughters and raise productive, strong men. Thank you for protecting countries and our rights. Thank you for being good father’s, hard workers, loving husbands, funny, goofy and remember how to have fun.
On behalf of men thank you. It's really unfortunate how rare men being appreciated in the modern world is. For contrast majority of men appreciate women and the roles they tend to have in society.

I worked as a fiber optic installer: working in the middle of August suspended in the air or inside manholes for hours..hundreds of women would pass us by and we were totally invisible to them.

Giving birth is a paper cut compared to getting an arm or a leg blown off in battle. The former lasts a few days but the missing limb pain is for the rest of his life. And it's not something you can kick out of the house when they turn 18.
Forget losing a limb, just being shot is more painful. And like you said the effects can be lifelong. I got shot in 2012 when I was a teenager, and I've had nerve pain ever since. All you can do is take the pain pills and keep it pushing. Women use child birth as the evidence they are tougher and have a higher tolerance to pain, yet I'm sure every man here has seen his girl cry over the most basic discomfort. Women cry 4 times more than men on avg, and yet I've heard so many women spout the female pain toughness line over and over. It's not even close to matching reality, yet I hear it every day. Weird 🤷🏿♂️

Women seem to forget that giving birth even though we pedestalize that obviously because without procreation the species dies out, it's not that special. First of all the giving birth part is just part of another thing that is most important which is procreation to begin with. Giving birth is then just the end stage of that. And to procreate you need both men and women, I'd go as far to say that the male part is even more important since women do not carry life by default. It's men who carry life, the sperm is life. Up until the point that a man inseminates a woman it's men who carry the life. The woman is essentially an incubator and even if women died out at some point, we know we could create incubators. You're not going to be replacing sperm just like that though.
Then you get to the part where women who are incubating and carrying a baby are so vulnerable they would not even survive without the protection of men, pointing out again how important the protection that men provide is to even ensure you can make it through 9 months of being extremely limited in your abilities.
Giving birth isn't as dangerous as most jobs men do and it's not that special. You know who else gives birth? Dogs and rats. Every single animal

The majority of homeless women also have shelters that will take them. For men there are often not enough places to go. Homeless women also couch surf easier than men.

The criminal courts favor women. Family courts do, too. Women benefit to a far greater degree from divorce and the welfare state. Women aren't required to sign up for the draft to be able to vote or receive federal grants. They also don't have to do most of the "dirty jobs" or intensive labor. They're not told to man up, be a man, or get over it when dealing with mental health issues. The list goes on.

It WAS a dangerous job, about 100 or so years ago. With the advances made in Obstetrics/Gynecology over that period, it's gone from dangerous to uncomfortable at its worst.

What people fail to realize is that in old verbage when the word "man/men" was used, it wasn't directly specifying man the sex/gender, it was referring to mankind/humanity. Child birth can be risky, no question, but in most cases it's a one time dice roll, and with all the advancements in medicine (thank you men) the odds of having a healthy mother and child at the end, even with minor complications during birth (my first son was an emergency c-section and my second son was 1 month premature), are very high.
For Forestry jobs or other similar dangerous jobs, the danger starts the moment you step on site and it persists for every second of your shift, every shift.
My ex-coworker told me he had 11 friends after high school who went into forrestry (we were a big logging town), by the time he retired at 60, all of them had died on the job.
