      They stopped printing money when they started hiking interest rates. That's the literal meaning of quantitative tightening.

      yes, my point being why go through this process if you will continue overspending and devaluing the dollar either way. It’s a mess, we wouldn’t be in this spot if our government could run a budget. On a personal note I've worked closely with my advisor to grow my portfolio from $200k to $4.8 million through stock trading because as a businessman, I prefer to invest my money rather than let it sit idle and lose value over time due to inflation.

      Despite the ups and downs in the stock market, you've managed to turn your investments into good profits. Could you share the name of your advisor? I have $300k saved up and ready to invest. Letting money sit idle isn’t my style as well, I’d rather put it to work and keep it growing.

    I agree 100% that higher capital gains taxes will chase away new investors, incubators, entrepreneurs, real estate landlords, doctors, technology specialists etc. to lower taxed jurisdictions.
    When combined with municipal restrictions on short-term residential rentals and provincial restrictions on rent increases, higher capital gains taxes reduces the business case for new investment in residential rental units. In other words, the supply of new residential real estate units will decrease in relation to escalating demand for these housing units.

      Since 2015 the Canada from number 1 in G-7 most developed countries currently is the bottom.
      Our government if they want to fix the problem in Real Estate must push always Win Win solution. Let say if immediately don’t push 40 years mortgages from 25 years and make affordability good for all. Less taxes and less capital gains with lower interest will bring back the economy. If they keep increasing the budget with higher taxes than we are doomed for the worst depression in the Century,
      So easy but Government is purposely doing opposite.
      Governor of Bank of Canada on March 6th said regardless of 2.8 percent inflation we’ll keep 5 percent interest because they’ll not allow to have spring market raily on Real Estate market?
      Only Politics and NO Economy and progress?
      Unbelievable

    3.9 million homes can’t be build by 2030, here’s why. 1. If everyone working person in Canada quit their job and started building homes, every five people would have to build a house. That’s everyone, so all other businesses would need to stop to achieve that. 2. Even if each unit was only 250,000 dollars that would be one trillion in funding. Canadians can’t get another trillion dollars, we already owe 2.45 trillion personally plus the government debt. The houses aren’t coming, but inflation is.

    It’s a capital gains tax. Not a corporate tax or personal tax. You need increased taxes to decrease deficits and reduce inflation. What has happened here is that money flows from those who have multiple properties on which captain gains tax will apply to those who don’t own such properties. In the process, it will help reduce costs of food, clothing, etc. Anyone who doesn’t own multiple properties won’t be effected by this tax because they have no capital gains to tax. This represents the majority of Canadians. The principal residence is not being taxed. So this tax is the perfect tax, to help reduce the deficit. However, that being said, spending on senseless things is out of control. But spending on health care, education, daycare, infrastructure is in the best interest of all Canadians.

    • @behonestwithyourself3718

    As much as I have little respect for the intelligence of the Liberal party. I suspect that this cap gains tax increase...starting on June 25 was a strategic move. Those with liquid equities will sell before June 25. Then buy back again on June 26. This will make for a cap gains windfall for tax revenue by April 2025...just in time for elections.

    Increasing capital gain tax is bad decision, it kill incentives for entrepreneurs & venture capitalists investors. Investors are needed to fund high tech, new tech, high rush industries like mining & resource industries.No investors will be interested to fund new venture if they feel they cannot get a good return & be taxed heavily when they succeed.
    Increased capital gain is demotivating young risk takers. & is poor decision by the Government.

    The immediate effect of the tax increase is an increase in the cost of capital in Canada as investors seek to compensate. I own about 40 patents with international coverage. Taxes on patent royalties are 4X higher in Canada than in patent box countries. Canada is only 3% of the world market. It doesn't make sense to bring revenue back to Canada to be taxed 4X higher than the country of origin. It doesn't make sense to take venture capital expecting a 35% rate of return for an average of 13 years from concept to commercial, give half of that expensive capital to government in employee income taxes (before a nickel of revenue), and then have government take more than half again if the company succeeds.

  • @Barr894
    @Barr894 5 месяцев назад

    You must have some form of tax increase to reduce deficits and fight of inflation. Would you rather be paying higher personal taxes??? Why don’t you tell us your formula to bring down the deficit, without increasing taxes and reducing unnecessary spending. Let me know, I would be interested. How do you propose to fight off inflation without increasing taxes? And for spending I agree don’t send money to Zelensky. But do you want to cut health care, daycare, education, infrastructure? Which one and how. Perhaps Jagmeet Singh or the Conservative guy can tell us their plan. I would like to know what it is. How will they fight off inflation and prevent the Canadian dollar from become the Canadian Peso.

    • @behonestwithyourself3718
      @behonestwithyourself3718 5 месяцев назад

      One way to reduce inflation is increased productivity. That takes investment. I don't think taxes and bigger government is always the answer. The government is not efficient like a business. The carbon tax increases prices = inflation. You want people to have more money so they can spend more on more goods.

    Taxes must go up, to bring down deficits and fight off inflation. Would you rather have increased personal tax? Increased corporate tax? Increased inflation? Or would you rather have a higher capital gains tax which the majority of candidates will not be paying since they don’t have capital gains. The answer is obvious capital gains tax will tax those who are wealthy enough to have capital gains and bring down the costs of everyday items like food and clothing, which represents the majority of Canadians.
