The first rock music I ever remember hearing was Rare Earth. My dad had an 8-track of the Get Ready album. Great stuff! Ecology is also a great album. Their cover of "(I Know) I'm Losing You" is epic!

How much talent is poured into this song by one of the supergroups of those years. Rare Earth, what a tremendous band they were playing live, here in this song they didn't need to simulate anything, they had everything to do it live without losing any of their talent when recording in the studio. Thank you TMS once again for sharing these great performances that you had saved, these musical memories are part of music history!!! 🤗🤗🤗

I heard of Rare Earth but never heard their music. I like what I'm hearing. 75% of the music I listen to is 70's rock. I'm an X Gener who was a child when this great music was out.

Such a great time in music!
Midnight Special showcased the musicians. Before days of wifi and noise.
    It was about the music.
    We had a groove thang!
    Loved Rare Earth.
    Thanks for sharing!

MY FATHER LOVED THIS GROUP AND THIS SONG WAS BLASTED ON THE RECORD PLAYER LOUDLY BACK IN THE 1970’s. I SAW THE GROUP BACK IN SUMMER OF 1993 AT THE MERCANTILE EXCHANGE HERE IN CHICAGO. THE FLUTE SOUNDS IS EVERYTHING IN THIS SONG.

I think they were on the Motown label ...the only white band on Motown records

They were on Motown's Rare Earth subsidiary but the company had many white bands before and since the group Rare Earth recorded for the label. The Jaguars, Underdogs, The Messengers, The Ones, Rustix, Power Of Zeus, The Cats, Duke Jupiter. Several years prior to his funk period, Rick James fronted the racially integrated Mynah Birds, which included pre-Buffalo Springfield Neil Young on guitar.

@@kevingoins9858 Greetings from Serbia. This is Willie Remembers line up. When I was teenager I mail ordered 5 copies of the Willie Remembers , sold 4 and still have one copy in mint condition. There was Rare Earth logo inside suitable for iron transfer to t-shirts and I was wearing one such t-shirt when I was 17.

I'll also bet that you didn't know that "BERRY GORDY" who owned "MOTOWN" had a "RECORD LABEL" named after "RARE EARTH"? "RARE EARTH RECORDS" was indeed "THE LABEL"!! 🙏😇👌👍✌️🙏

This is the "version 2" lineup of Rare Earth. Bassist John Persh, keyboardist Kenny James, and guitarist Rod Richards had been replaced by Mike Urso, Mark Olson, and Ray Monette, respectively.

Rare Earth é uma das bandas mais injustiçadas, pois tem uma musicalidade ímpar além de ser uma poucas bandas em que o vocalista é também o baterista da mesma.
