    This was super helpful. I learned Spanish a few years ago, mostly through a combo of RUclips, reading, games, language partners, and different online tutors. I was 59 when I started learning Spanish and I had no experience with language learning, with the exception of a Spanish class in school when I was 12 years old. I can now converse with people in Spanish without a problem--I'm probably about a DELE B2 level--so I want to get started on my next target language, which is Italian. I would like something interactive because I am at the point now where I'm beginning to practice speaking out loud to myself and having pretend conversations, but I'm not quite at the point where I want to start working with a tutor or find conversation partners. I would like to build up my base vocabulary and speaking skills a little bit first. Your description of the lessons has made me decide to try this product out. Thanks!

      @tobikrutt I studied Spanish in HS and at the university level, and studied Italian concurrently at the university level. After two semesters of Italian I had to drop it because the interference between the two very similar languages was too great. I would be writing "che" in Spanish class and "que" in Italian classes. Pronunciation was also an issue. Words like "pollo" are spelled the same in both languages but pronounced very differently. I decided to pick up Italian again more than 40 years later and it seems to be coming along better than before, I guess because I had become fluent in Spanish. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks :-)

    I’ve always loved learning languages and haven’t studied a language since college. I want to take my family to Italy so I’m looking to learn this language and actually be able to hold some conversation! My husband and I are both Italian and neither can speak it! I’d love to be able to talk to some family members!!! We’re still have family in Italy!

    Yea they are organized. It's amazing and they have amazing reinforced learning that actually makes you recall what you just learn and trys to get you to use it in different ways in a short sentence manner.

    Didn't know about ROCKET until a few minutes ago and now it sounds like where I belong. I've finished Duolingo's Italian (up and down the chain about 4 times in a little over 1000 days) and over a year of Babbel too (which I preferred immediately).

    Why do I want to learn Italian?Out of anywhere on earth there is nowhere I’d rather go than Italy. And languages have been very interesting to me for my whole life, Yet due to cost I’ve only been able to use free apps and courses. I’ve been looking into rocket for a while but I’ve been put off by the cost.

    Hello! Thank you so much for your content! It has been super helpful for me in navigating a very intimidating market! I have a quick question about Level 1. I have an upcoming trip to Italy - about 2.5 weeks in length - would completing Level 1 be proficient to be conversational enough for my trip? Or would I need to complete Level 2 and Level 3 beforehand as well?

    • @TestPrepInsight
      @TestPrepInsight  2 года назад +1

      Level 1 should give you an elementary level of fluency. In other words, you would know enough to hold small talk with locals, but not in-depth conversations. For a 2-week long trip, I think Level 1 would be enough to talk to cab drivers, waiters, bartenders, hotel staff, etc. Combine it with a vocab heavy app like Memrise and you'd be in very good shape

    Man, I just about forgot that I bought the full Rocket Italian package a couple of years ago for like $200. I need to jump back on that, as we're planning a trip to Italy next year. Quick question: Do you see any downside to using multiple systems (e.g. Rocket and Pimsleur) at the same time?

    • @TestPrepInsight
      @TestPrepInsight  2 года назад +2

      No. In fact, using multiple systems can actually offer some advantages, including spaced repetition (seeing vocab multiple times across different platforms) and different approaches to learning (some platforms focus on audio vs visual vs games). Obviously, using multiple systems takes more time and there will be significant overlap, but the pros outweigh the cons in the decision of whether to use 2+ apps at once.
