So you end up feeling like an Alien, like everyone is watching you, like every small mistake gets used as an argument against your path. I hear that! I think in a lot of cases though, as was the case with me when I was younger, it was the thought that people were staring and watching for mistakes. When in reality nobody was watching or waiting, it was just perceived anxiety on my part. In the case of these 8 men, it’s very clear that people are watching them and looking for mistakes so we couldn’t possibly comprehend what they’ve had to go through sadly. Pacemaker on the other hand is pretty underrated and overlooked - it only has one live performance, and when it came out on the GO LIVE/IN LIFE albums it seemed to be overshadowed a lot by how strong the other songs were on those albums, but I LOVE it because of how confident and charming the lyrics are, not to mention the beat! Chan wrote this about his own experiences. His story is so heart wrenching. He left everything at 13 in Australia & went to Korea alone. He was basically alone for 6 years till he met Han. 😢 I remember him mentioning being literally alone in the dorms one year when everyone got cut from JYP & he was literally the only 1 left. Can you imagine being a young kid alone in a massive empty dorm. All his friends had debuted, & everyone else was cut. He made a decision never to get close to anyone again and ended up in a really dark place. He's made more than one reference to his mental health suffering during this time. Luckily he met Han & Changbin to form 3RACHA then later the rest of the boys & he said they saved him. 😢😭😭😭 He's literally a walking miracle. ❤❤❤❤ (Hence the levitation or ascending visual) He is so incredibly strong to overcome all he did. I know I'm super late but what I understood from the MV We know that Chan wrote the lyrics and when they say " gave up my youth for my future". The fact that Chan left his home at the age of 13 chasing his dream of being an idol at such a young age leaving his old life and his childhood to go after his dream " I know it's gonna be lonely cause everyone keeps turning me down" Chan in his trainee days always getting rejected to debut and being told he isn't ready yet but that fact kept him working harder " countless new surroundings "and " never knew I'd see so many people come and go"and " I see the mirror it's only me "the fact that the trainees who were with Chan either debuted or didn't make it and he had met so many new people on his journey and they would keep changing and going and in the end he will be standing alone with no one he knows " cold eyes keep looking me down" it's just my thought but I think that the fact that Chan was a trainee for seven years I guess people would always look down on him from the perspective of ' oh he still couldn't make it, why try so hard if you always fail ' And same as for " I'm still in the crowd alien of the town they want me to give up right now" people telling him to just give up already and let go of this dream he have cause he is never gonna make But all these harsh words made him fight more to prove them wrong " they're making me laugh it's so loud waking the demon that's hiding inside" And the coures part is just saying that you live only once take risks follow what you believe in an do what you want and don't listen to the haters because in the end the dream you have is going to be the path you walk on " evil thoughts coming over i'ma let it go" Chan talked about that he was in a very dark place in some point in his trainee days but he got out of it and pushed the bad though away And the lyrics can be also understood as that the social path is their journey as kpop idols and that they have their whole life on the internet for people to see and talk about some people might hate on them and tell them to give up and the hate comments always making them feel lonely and turned down even though they have alot of fans But we all know that one bad comment can ruin the persons mood sometimes and I think the part where they said " I fight myself it's only me" is just making me view it as if the hate comments are sometimes getting to them and they actually have a fight with themselves and the things that are said in the hate comment but in the end they are only fighting with their thoughts and fears not someone else And I think the video really captures the thought of their journey on social media for example Hyunjin is just sitting there and the viewers" which are the paper bags people" just gather around him just to look at his visuals not looking at his talent at all same goes for Felix they just come and go watching him and listening to his deep voice And Seungmin trying to run away from the haters and those negative comments but they keep coming after him but then theese same haters will just ignore I.N ( I don't know why every new person I see who saw stray kids in some way will just ignore I.N at first and always the haters will just ignore I.N existing and don't talk about him not cause they like him but just cause they think he is not worth it because he is ' talentless 'as they say ) And bang Chan always being chased with accusations and blamed for anything he did or didn't do And for the others I don't know if I understood their parts in the MV but doe Lee know I don't know why what first came to my mind ' and please don't hate ' is just the fact that people sexualis him ' I know hyunjin and Felix are way more sexualised than Lee know but idk it's the first thing that came to mind '

personally I think this song is to do with their trainee days because there's a lot about leaving people behind, and as said Chan was a trainee for many years and saw people come and go. As well as that it could also be them talking about how they sacrificed their youth, innocence and life to achieve their goal. The wings could be interpreted as their innocence gone as they have had to go through hate and much more through out their life.
I believe that LiSA isn't by their side because she is older, more experienced and has passed through hell during her career. So she has already traced the path they are tracing now. The lyrics says a lot about Chan's experience and feelings as a trainer for 7 years. And yet, the visuals, with the lyrics, can also represent isolation and social media. The faceless people are the faceless comments on the internet. You have the questionable ones, the positive and the negative ones. They also represent the confusing dark and twisted thoughts we have when feeling lost and alone. The video has a lot of symbolism and the lyrics are deep and strong. I freaked out when they announced the collab, I love LiSA. Now even more.
Felix's one wing and a couple other scenes look like Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 game to me!... You also see Sephiroth standing in front of a fire with glowing eyes and hair a bit like that. That guy also had no youth or hometown and spent his whole youth training, owned by a company, felt he wasn't even human, and eventually went crazy and became a psychopath called the One Winged Angel.
Chan said that the lyrics are actually what he felt and went through. So yeah if u know that, the lyrics hit different 😭

I know I'm super late but what I understood from the MV
We know that Chan wrote the lyrics and when they say " gave up my youth for my future". The fact that Chan left his home at the age of 13 chasing his dream of being an idol at such a young age leaving his old life and his childhood to go after his dream
" I know it's gonna be lonely cause everyone keeps turning me down" Chan in his trainee days always getting rejected to debut and being told he isn't ready yet but that fact kept him working harder
" countless new surroundings "and " never knew I'd see so many people come and go"and " I see the mirror it's only me "the fact that the trainees who were with Chan either debuted or didn't make it and he had met so many new people on his journey and they would keep changing and going and in the end he will be standing alone with no one he knows
" cold eyes keep looking me down" it's just my thought but I think that the fact that Chan was a trainee for seven years I guess people would always look down on him from the perspective of ' oh he still couldn't make it, why try so hard if you always fail '
And same as for " I'm still in the crowd alien of the town they want me to give up right now" people telling him to just give up already and let go of this dream he have cause he is never gonna make
But all these harsh words made him fight more to prove them wrong " they're making me laugh it's so loud waking the demon that's hiding inside"
And the coures part is just saying that you live only once take risks follow what you believe in an do what you want and don't listen to the haters because in the end the dream you have is going to be the path you walk on
" evil thoughts coming over i'ma let it go" Chan talked about that he was in a very dark place in some point in his trainee days but he got out of it and pushed the bad though away
And the lyrics can be also understood as that the social path is their journey as kpop idols and that they have their whole life on the internet for people to see and talk about some people might hate on them and tell them to give up and the hate comments always making them feel lonely and turned down even though they have alot of fans
But we all know that one bad comment can ruin the persons mood sometimes and I think the part where they said " I fight myself it's only me" is just making me view it as if the hate comments are sometimes getting to them and they actually have a fight with themselves and the things that are said in the hate comment but in the end they are only fighting with their thoughts and fears not someone else
And I think the video really captures the thought of their journey on social media for example
Hyunjin is just sitting there and the viewers" which are the paper bags people" just gather around him just to look at his visuals not looking at his talent at all same goes for Felix they just come and go watching him and listening to his deep voice
And Seungmin trying to run away from the haters and those negative comments but they keep coming after him but then theese same haters will just ignore I.N ( I don't know why every new person I see who saw stray kids in some way will just ignore I.N at first and always the haters will just ignore I.N existing and don't talk about him not cause they like him but just cause they think he is not worth it because he is ' talentless 'as they say )
And bang Chan always being chased with accusations and blamed for anything he did or didn't do
And for the others I don't know if I understood their parts in the MV
but doe Lee know I don't know why what first came to my mind ' and please don't hate ' is just the fact that people sexualis him ' I know hyunjin and Felix are way more sexualised than Lee know but idk it's the first thing that came to mind '
Han I also don't think I understand correctly but also the first thing that came to mind is we all know Han has social anxiety and the chains on him is the hate comments and the bad things that are said about him and it's keeping him trapped in his social anxiety with out a way to escape them
And changbin I just felt he wasn't present alot in this MV ' Japanese people don't like big boys '
But at the end of this social path that they are walking on they just start ignoring the the hate and just walking through them to their next succes as we saw in the MV they are walking past the paper bag people with no fear and getting to the other side without thinking about the hate
That's how I saw the MV and the lyrics and this song is right now one of my favourites

Just think if anything had been different though, there would be no Stray Kids. Where would all the guys have ended up? Who would Chris have turned out to be in a different group? They were meant to be together, and he was meant to lead them. Though it was painful, and we hurt for his pain, everything turns out the way it's meant to be. ❤️

personally I think this song is to do with their trainee days because there's a lot about leaving people behind, and as said Chan was a trainee for many years and saw people come and go. As well as that it could also be them talking about how they sacrificed their youth, innocence and life to achieve their goal. The wings could be interpreted as their innocence gone as they have had to go through hate and much more through out their life.
I believe that LiSA isn't by their side because she is older, more experienced and has passed through hell during her career. So she has already traced the path they are tracing now. The lyrics says a lot about Chan's experience and feelings as a trainer for 7 years. And yet, the visuals, with the lyrics, can also represent isolation and social media. The faceless people are the faceless comments on the internet. You have the questionable ones, the positive and the negative ones. They also represent the confusing dark and twisted thoughts we have when feeling lost and alone. The video has a lot of symbolism and the lyrics are deep and strong. I freaked out when they announced the collab, I love LiSA. Now even more.

That guy also had no youth or hometown and spent his whole youth training, owned by a company, felt he wasn't even human, and eventually went crazy and became a psychopath called the One Winged Angel.
