  • EVE Wheel from Eden Valley Enterprises quick demo. It is a compact easy to transport double drive wheel. Two speeds, large bobbin. A real work horse of a wheel. This one was well used and has a few creeks and clunks but those can be freshened up. Easy to setup and easy to spin with. Versatile.

I sent my Eve with my mother on her trip south as it was more specially saving than her Ashford. She died on the trip, in north carolina and I never got to recover it. I lost a lot of my mother's craft stuff in the turmoil after her death as well. I really miss my babies. Thank you for having the video up, I'm going to try and reconstruct it, but I'd need measurements...would it be possible to ask you for things like total weight and the measurements of all its innerwprkings?

I'd be happy to do that but I don't have mine any longer. My daughter has one and Im considering getting it from her so I can duplicate it as well. I'll let you know If that is possible.

I will say mines built a bit differently than yours, so I wonder if Greentree Ranch commissioned EVE more than once to make wheels for them?

If you can make a video of the issue you are having you can upload it to your youtube channel and if you look in my about section you will find my email so you can send a link to the video. I’ll have a look at it and see what I can do to help. I’ll be getting my Daughters Wheel so I can disassemble it and make new ones using this design. Likely with some modifications. Not all EVE wheels were built exactly the same but many are quite similar and some used different wood. My daughters wheel is more of a plain Jane wheel. It was the first ever spinning wheel I ever purchased. I want to see if your wheel is warped or if its caused by a worn out bushing or bearing.

@@kayleighildiko1392 I’d love to see the wheel. If you check my About section you will find my email and my FB page as well. I’d recommend you use your phone to make a movie of the issue and post it to your youtube channel which is pretty easy to do then send a link to the video so I can go check it out. You can also send pictures and a note to the email so I can see and respond to what your wheel looks like.

Here's some pictures and a video of the wobbly wheel. I'm waiting on a new bushing to arrive, it's definitely worn out the original. I'm hoping that'll help, but I think mine's just built a little off kilter@@abittwisted

Do you have any more information about this wheel? I've never heard of this brand before but I found one at an antique shop! Any info would be great, thanks so much. :)

All I know is it was made by Eden Valley Enterprises which was a business within a commune many moons ago. The first ever spinning wheel I purchased was one from this company for my Daughter 5 years ago. It was used and a good price. I was not able to find much else out about the company. I know of 3 of these wheels. One my daughter has. One I have that you see above and one from the gal who actually found two at an auction and purchased them both as she wanted on and I wanted the other. Now I guess there is yet another available. What are they asking for the wheel? I wanted the wheel to see if I can improve this wheel. Mine is a bit worn out but I did find a fix so it will not be so noisy. It was a pretty easy fix. Any improvements will include a way to remedy the issue so it won't wear out in the places that are worn out. It is a two speed Double Drive wheel. The take up on the fast whorl is not so good because of the diameter of the whorls but I found a good tight band helps. Not too tight as to cause other parts undue friction on parts to be oiled. It spins fine on the larger whorl but you have to treadle a bit more to get the twist you want. It spins both wool and flax just fine. The bobbins are huge so hold a great amount of yarn. It is not a Super Bulky yarn wheel but it will do some nice thick yarns. Remember if you plan on plying your single but be thin enough to pass through the orifice twice or three times if you are looking for 3 ply yarns, This is a good wheel for making medium weight yarns.

It is not a large wheel and suitable for travel. It does not fold down. It is stable on the floor.

Only 13 of these wheels were ever made. Its why it killed me to loose mine.@abittwisted
