I think Steev-o saved this episode. The co host guy didn't know anything about UFC and was acting goofy. Mike was meeting him for the first time and didn't know who he was. Steev-o actually helped alot.

Yeah Steve o carried this one. Tyson would have taken Paddy down the rabbit hole of philopshical deep knowledge without Steve o keeping this on the surface. Steve o seems to work exceptionally well with Mike. Paddy got a pass in terms of being challenged.

I mean this *with all seriousness* - STEVE-O was far and above the best co-pilot this show has ever had.. It’s not even close. And I’m not even a big Steve-O fan, it’s just manifestly obvious… he is a PERFECT counterpart to Mike as far as temperament, personality, his willingness and ability to come in with the right thing to say at the right moment so as to keep a smooth, positive vibe to the conversation… I can go on and on.. They’re opposites in many ways, but they’re also strikingly similar in others.. It’s just clear as day, those two need to spend more time together on the mic.
PS - great episode.. so awesome seeing Paddy move around and witness America and Paddy getting to know one another.

How anyone can listen to Steve-O’s voice for any prolonged period of time is absolutely beyond me.

OK so there needs to be ONE GOLDEN RULE for HOTBOXIN, its the single most important rule in order for this podcast to be great consistently. If your like me and have been watching Hotboxin w MT for quite sometime you get the idea of the co host placed to carry the show and basically take those duties away from Mike since hes not wired to be cookie cutter and your typical professional interviewer. They have had a large amount of special guest sitting down tasked with carrying the pod. But the co hosts always miss the mark on what makes this pod special. Mike is 1 of 1 across all aspects but what's made Mike a STAR now in this podcast space is not his physical gift but rather remarkably his intellect. Mikes ETHOS has to come from within deep parts of his mind and spirit, the magic that is him needs to be lit and or inspired by the context he feels and hears during his show. As he totes around a joint or munches back some trail mix occasionally laughing or casually asking a question. The guest hosts of the show need to be diligently waiting for the "cue" we can all feel it, hear it and certainly see it. the moment Mike shifts into MASTER MODE. AT this turn the show must focus on Mike and make sure he has the stage uninterrupted. Allowing him to dive deep with his guest and create the magic that we all come to learn and love. Way too often the co hosts don't do this and end up losing significant potentials and substance. As Mike might slip back into the backseat and who knows when he gets powered back on again. Leaving us feeling incomplete as viewers and causing many shows to be bland and lethargically produced.
