Hi Rich, I't trying to do a material take off from Fabrication CADmep. Navis creates a list of items in the work book but doesn't add any lengths or quantities. Is it possible to use Navis to take off Fabmep or does it only take of Revit materials? Thanks
hello sir, try this: 1. **Load the Fabrication CADmep model** into Navisworks, ensuring that all necessary properties, such as lengths, quantities, and other relevant data, are correctly imported. 2. **Open the Quantification Workbook**: - Go to the “Home” tab, then select “Quantification.” - Start a new quantification project by selecting “Quantification Workbook.” 3. **Set Up Property Mappings**: - Navigate to “Quantification Settings” and ensure that the properties from the CADmep elements (like length and quantity) are correctly mapped to the quantification parameters. - If the lengths or quantities are not appearing, check that the Fabrication CADmep elements have the necessary metadata for quantities and lengths. You may need to map custom properties that are specific to the CADmep objects. 4. **Ensure Proper Item Selection**: - When selecting items for quantification, double-check that the objects in your model are being properly selected and their associated properties (like length, area, or count) are correctly displayed in the quantification workbook. 5. **Customize Quantification**: - If necessary, customize the quantification by creating custom formulas or using conditional statements to capture the right quantities, lengths, or other parameters based on your fabrication parts. Navisworks does support quantification from both Revit and CADmep models, but it relies heavily on the properties embedded in the model. If the Fabrication CADmep model isn't fully defined in terms of quantities and lengths, you may need to adjust the settings or modify the model properties in Fabrication CADmep before exporting it to Navisworks. Let me know if you need further assistance with the setup!
Hi, you haven't shared the information about the model takeoff and virtual takeoff. If you could discuss about those things it will be helpful. Any how your videos are well explained and quiet simplified for the beginners like me. Thanks a lot brother!
Thank you so much, I really enjoyed your Naviswork series

thank you very much, your explanation is so easy to understand
thanks sir for watching and kind words.
The information extracted in excel is massive with many unwanted informations, how to simpify it in a normal measurement format or BOQ?
hello, Aamir, sorry. at the moment I have no time to check it out.
Good job sir! Very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
thanks
Thanks for watching.
