When I first played this beautiful game back in 90's when I was in 4th grade, I instantly fell in love with this amazing game. Every time I go to the arcade, this was my go to game because it was so damn fun and very addicting. Later Marvel was made following the same art style and animation style, and then SFA was made with the same art style.

I must say that despite being a good game, the sequel Night Warriors was a great savior for this title, because I didn't remember it being so slow compared to its sequels.
Truly a Capcom master piece today's development team needs to learn from the veterans of the 90s that it is possible to make a different fighting game and even a little bit better than Street fighter this is a development team that had direction in a sense of knowing when to change up in the fighting world not to try to stick to one game to please a certain crowd keep it coming man, 👊

That's why there are some many different fighting games than SF2, even though it was a masterpiece. That's how Darkstalkers came out, a big jump from SF2. But today there's no motivation for creativity or even releasing old things that are too different from the "norm".

You'd think that, after the massive success stories of titles like Darkstalkers and Silent Hill, Capcom (at least) would have figured out how awesome games and sequels are actually made -and instead of throwing absolutely ridiculous amounts of money for flaccid IP-trash, actually hire a few creative and visionary developers with decent wages and benefits, and let them actually create their pet projects without ludicrous milestones and corporate meddling. Yet, they all seem content to perpetually engage in IP autocannibalism. It's gonna be a great day when EA and the other ultra-massive corp's finally go belly-up from the aforementioned autocannibalism and IP-incest going all Hapsburg dynasty.
I get the sentiment, but things are not so simple. First of all DS might be artistically and technologically a masterpiece and a revolutionary title for that time, but wasnt really a successful franchise. It was the first major Capcom fg that died, before SF. So that already brings up a basic important point: some creative masterpieces wont do well no matter their qualities. SF is the fg of the masses but things like DS are bound to be niche. And Capcom currently isnt investing in any fg that isnt at least close to the scale of SF. Also The 90s gaming scene worked differently and fg culture of the time was different. That's another basic difference: the 90s scene was motivated for creativity. While today the most important is to refine formulas and find viable ways to fill games with more content. Like even SNK, that surpassed Capcom in creativity and artistic vision at some point in the 90s, became an artistically inept company. The whole industry is that way. That's a very strong argument against returning to work on DS, no matter the popularity of a few characters that were known because of crossovers like MvC. That's the sad reality.
No, that's just a dramatic effect. She is from a specific species plain called "catwomen" that can shapeshift between cat and humanoid form. And yes, is "cat-Women" all the members of the especies are female, they can only reproduce with males of other species.
All Catwoman species in the Darkstalkers universe can transform into a small cat. Also it's actually a gene they carry. Male species look no different than ordinary humans. Females are the only ones that shows the feline traits.
