- Railtours Ireland operated a Private railtour around the South, South West & West of Ireland for a whole week.
A Private Train was organised to carry American tourists around the Sunny South coast & the wild West of Ireland for a whole week.
The tour started of in Dublin's Connolly Station where in the video we see the private train sitting on platform 1 waiting to be shunted onto platform 5 to board the passengers. There were only 50 people traveling on the tour so which meant a full set of Craven coaches was not required. The passengers each paid 3,000 Euro to travel on this event.
IE class 071 number 084 was in charge of hauling the tour for the week, 4 Craven Coaches & One Generator were used on the tour.
After leaving Connolly the tour traveled all the way to Rosslare Strand, Co Wexford to access the disused South Wexford Line, the tour used this line to get to Waterford quicker, rather than having to go all the way up to Dublin and then down to Waterford.
In the video I chase the tour on the South Wexford Line, firstly we see it passing the abandoned station of Killinick, then we chase it to a level crossing at Nicharee, and finally we get a beautiful view of the tour crossing Taylorstown Viaduct.
And to finish the video off we see the tour in Waterford (Plunkett Station)
The tour continued to tour the country after I had finished chasing it, the next day it went to Cork, the next day later it went to Cobh & Killarney before traveling up to Galway & Westport and then finally back to Dublin Connolly Station.
Footage was taken on Monday the 29th of September 2014.

Lovely footage Stephen!
Cheers Tony ;)
Gr8 stuff Stephen, I suppose the new craven colour is better than just blue, but nothing beats orange
Thanks Thomas, I think the blue & cream on the Cravens is much better than that dark blue, but as you said the orange will always be the best.
Really super footage Stephen!! \o/ That was a fun day out we had :))
Thanks Danny, we sure did, and we certainly had the weather for it.

Yeah it will be the Mk2s.
