Had the original FJ09 which looked decent….but they have continued to beat it with an ugly stick!!! Looking forward to this Tiger. Hope they change the gauges though. A bit Fisher Price to me.
I Know loads of folks that has 1050s and that had the old tiger 800s . Who never when Tiger 900s This looks like the bike for them especially if the weight is in the right place . And even Street triple owners as we all get older
I think Triumph, without saying it, has finally given in to all the street focused riders wanting the old butter smooth 800 triple and not the 270 crank nonsense found on the 900. This could finally be a replacement to my 800 xrt. Not a fan of the screen but everything else looks spot on. If my old back can deal with the slightly more aggressive rider triangle this could be a perfect bike for me.
Just subscribed today (while wearing my Bike Matters NEW t-shirt). Having worked with the brilliant people at Lexham last week, you've got a new fan and (maybe) I am already looking up this bike for the future (don't tell my wife 🤫)
Love everything so far about the bike. My only concern is if seat height of 835mm is suitable for (5ft7in with 30 inseam) rider? Preferably I like to have my feet planted on the ground.
FFS why does everyone keep going on about the instruments display, I had a T 900 before and realised most of the stuff on the dash I never bothered with anyway. Oh, by the way, I’ve ordered one for next year👍
Agreed, I have a 900 and I’ve realized I only need my speed, fuel, mileage, and gear indicator. Everything else is unnecessary and I wish it was more simple.
If the Multi 950 & V2 always suffered from having a head too big for its body the Tigers sports suffer from the opposite. That being said it looks like a fun sports tourer and a great alternative for the Tracer 9. It’s prettier for one thing. Just wish Triumph didn’t come with their reputation for spare parts availability.
Looks like a great bike, particularly the SMOOTH triple engine, not vibrating cross plane rubbish. I had a Tiger 1050 for 10 years and would definitely consider this.
Let's hope Triumph is also planning a Tiger Sport 1200 based on the Speed Triple with full electronics package as a competitor to the S1000XR and Multistrada
As cool as a larger tft would be, the sluggish response of the tfts on the 900 and 1200 tigers have turned me off to them. I own a TS 660 and the responsiveness is what really matters when I am looking at it. However when I'm riding I'm not focused on the screen so 🤷🏾♂️.
The yellow looks pretty damn god, the other colors not so much, they lose the great style lines.. The dash is a borderline deal breaker at the price though. It still looks miles better than the tracer gt, that thing is hideous. Fix the dash and I would definitely consider this.
It might look cheap, but at least it's functional and eligible. The tft on my street 765rs font size is way too small. Displays have gone way over the top generally and will cost a fortune to replace in the future when they go wrong.
Lovely bike and great, informative review thanks but it's the Yamaha for me, why ? The Yamaha dealer is 7 miles away, the nearest Triumph dealer is 40 miles away now Pidcocks have closed. Edit, just to add, I've had excellent service from the Yamaha dealer in Loughborough.
Given the choice between the Sport 800 and the new Tracer 9, it’s the Yamaha for me, no contest. Better engine, spot-on performance, a lush 7" TFT display, and they’re the same price
@@mikefry6765 The CP3's got 10Nm more torque than the Sport 800, and that’s a big difference. It hits peak torque at 7k rpm, while the Sport 800 doesn’t get there until 8.5k. That tells me the CP3 engine’s got more mid-range punch, making it properly lively where it matters most.
They produce such great bikes, but all the new line up is crushed by this display. I don't mind it on a budget sub 8k bike (like the 660 models), but to put them on anything after that is nonsense. Do better Triumph!
You must be joking! 😢 have you tried using it? I have it on my Tiger Sport 660 and I gave up on the horrible navigation that I paid an extra €250 for and went and now use an Aoocci C3, with CarPlay. Ok it’s bolted on to the bars, but it’s far superior for almost 1/3 the price.
@@nickryan1522 My friend, I would outlaw any motorcycle without a double analog tachometer and speedometer. 😅 Honda PC800 dashboard is my definition of beauty. 🤷
Totally agree with your comments on the dash. It’s a terrible dash, not intuitive or natural menu structure at all and the navigation is crap and really laggy (have tried it with different phones and on different networks). I have the Tiger Sport 660, with the same dash and it would totally put me off upgrading to the 800 until they fix it. Other than that, looks like a great upgrade over the 660 and that engine is soooo much better than the horrific agricultural feeling 900 engine with that off-plane mad crank that they try to sell as a benefit.
Interesting about that lag issue, I'm really surprised that Triumph are pushing this dash on so many models. Outside of that, though, this 800 looks mega!
This bike is the solution for those who loved the idea of the tracer 9 but wouldn’t be seen dead riding something so ugly
Exactly!

Best looking Tiger to date.
I don’t care about the TFT dash! It has everything I need, and that’s what makes me happy! Thanks Triumph! 😊

Great bike ruined by the lack of a TFT screen which you expect from all manufacturers from 2024 onwards
What are they thinking not putting the street triple rs screen on this?

I agree, that dash is a bit 'behind the times' so maybe could have got away with it a few years ago but not now it just looks so out of place.

So funny that we all make such a point of the dash. It’s just a minor detail, right? In other words, the bike is fantastic 🤷♂️

Great looking bike (apart from the dash), would like to see a more sporty version with brake and suspension upgrades.

Triumph needs to get rid of that God forbidden display on the newer bikes

@@trevorphillips3055it’s a horrible screen with a horrible menu structure as well as being ugly and not fit for a 2025 model
Triumph, please make a tiger with a seat height of 800 mm or lower
Dash could be better, tell me more about the engine, newby to 3 pistons.. hearing about T plane and cross plane.. whats this one? Thanks

Looks great. Shame it's not a little bigger physically, though. Not sure my Mrs will go for that pillion seat!
Such a nice bike but that dash is unacceptable, it looks like something off a kids powerwheels car.
IMO, this new 800 has virtually the same bodywork/ same size as the Sport 660, but with more HP, cruise control, and optional center stand Y/ N?
TFT !!!!!!
❤😮
If they put a tft screen I'd probably buy it.. But now it's making me sour
The tracer has all the extras included

How do you know the engine is better ?

Honestly I like the screen. I find all modern TFT dashes boring and soulless. This one has some style in it.
I agree! The Triumph Tiger Sport 800's screen stands out with its unique style, much more engaging than typical TFT dashboards

It seems our video editor (Tshoba) and I (Alex) have pretty opposing opinions on this dash... I really dislike it. Tshoba apparently loves it!

Was great until Honda 1000 hornet got released!
That bike does look incredible! And for the money, too!
🔝🔝🔝👍
I just wish they'd give up putting, "USELESS", mudguards on bikes these days.
When compared to the new 1000 cc Honda this looks well overpriced.
Can't disagree. The bike is very appealing but that dash is awful.
The screen is terrible. PERIOD!!!! Trust the POMS to design such a rubbish display.
