    I left a like and subscribed specifically because you went so far away to test the device. Thanks for that 🤭.

    Hi don’t recommend the Fi to be honest… i’ll be at work and I’ll get a notification that my dog has left the house without me and many times I’ve called my family to go check if she got out of the house somehow and nope she’s asleep on the couch so I don’t know why it keeps telling me she’s leaving the yard when she hasn’t even moved off the couch

    • @kjavatar
      @kjavatar 6 месяцев назад +1

      That can happen with GPS drift on any GPS indoors. I’d suggest moving your base station closer to where the dog likes to relax. Also increase the size of the safe zone to prevent those alerts. Moving the base station alone was enough to solve my problem

    It sounds great but the monthly subscription is pretty expensive. It’s about how much I spend on my cell bill. If the price would drop to at least half the monthly subscription cost, i think people would replace their AirTags with these.

    Great video, why do you think it's better then the tractive?

    I'll subscribe, but with the caveat that what I'd like to see in a future review is something a bit more real world. I backpack and hike with my Airedale. Although he is field trained, he still works out of sight in back country conditions. So, I'm interested in other's experience with the dog off lead, out of sight, and moving in field terrain. The six month review here is really good for what you covered, and provides a foundational step to using the Fi. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing more videos.

      Save your money. I've had two of the fi 3 collars for around eight months. Tracking is terrible. My girlfriends cheap apple air tag tracks 100% better, ANYWHERE. It is a durable/compact unit, but it doesn't do what it should be doing for your money. Junk

    • @LloydMcCoy
      @LloydMcCoy 8 месяцев назад

      Okay, @bearkify I had an AirTag on one of my dogs and it only worked if he was within 50-75 ft. I live in a remote location and there aren’t a lot of other cell phones around. However they might work for you.
      Mitch, I’ve had a series 2 on one of my dogs and was happy with it. I got another pup who is big enough to roam now. I decided to get a series 3 for him and so far it hasn’t worked any better than the Series 3. It doesn’t “Live” track for me at all.
      I was really wanting the live track because they’re GSD’s and they can flat cover some ground. I don’t know if I’d trust it for what you’re going to do

    • @downtown9508
      @downtown9508 3 месяца назад

      With all due respect, if you’re really in the back country as you say, then this fi collar is a POS. You need a legitimate tracking device for your working dog. They’re very costly, but work as described. Look into garmin tracking units for your dog.

    • @kevinpeck8485
      @kevinpeck8485 16 дней назад

      @@downtown9508 I think these are intended and designed for casual users that just need to keep track of their dog without Realtime 6ft pinpoint accuracy that full-fledged deep country tracking and hunting dogs would use. Those do need the top-of-the-line versions which cost 4 or 5 times more than the Fi for good reason. Those are also much bigger and heavier which is a trade-off that professionals will gladly make. These are great for casual users, and way better than an Apple air tag, those are a complete joke in the woods!.

    If I upgrade it will be $480 a year 😂. I’ll stay where I am.

  • @robertodell1903

    I've had the latest FI for a year and half. It's a last resort. As far as real time, it sucks. There is way too much lag in the live tracking. If there are roads near your house and your dog is a runner, then you might find your dog dead before the device works. FI and the Whistle should have HUGE disclaimers on the top of their website pages warning owners.

  • @npinto2662

    Bought two Series 3, one for each dog. RIP OFF
    This company has no customer support, does not respond to emails or phone calls.
    The battery sometimes doesn’t last even one day, never more than a week.
    Annual monitoring cost as much as a new collar. Wish I had known, I would have bought a different collar that works.

  • @GT-bz9nc

    Not impressed. I have the series 3 with GPS for our German Shepherd, the series two broke at the clasps ( Fi support recommended adding a second collar for the leash), and today I received an alert that my dog was “without owner” on another street in our neighborhood, while she was right next to me and the collar was on our kitchen island. The tracking has significant latency issues, but it is certainly better than nothing. But a false alert like today is disappointing.

    • @lostdownyonder
      @lostdownyonder  Год назад +1

      I agree. I don’t think there is a perfect collar on the market right now that’s affordable. Maybe one day!

    • @miladacopeland1943
      @miladacopeland1943 Год назад

      @@lostdownyonder I get the same false alerts on the FI-2 collar that my dog still wears, the past couple of months it's been sending false alerts a couple of times a week. The battery life is terrible, so I only put it on him when we go out running, the rest of the time the collar is on the charger. I'm contemplating upgrading to FI-3, but just not sure it's really worth the money.

      Did you watch the video? Lol he said it's $192 a year. The only thing he said negative about the app is he lost interest in the dog ranking, then shows the app gets you within 100ft of the tag. He then says it's better than anything else he's tried in the market. Idk dude...definitely feels like you didn't watch the video 😂

    I will be throwing my Series 3 in the garbage. It doesn't track my dog worth SHT. Yesterday it showed my dog as missing and a few miles away. I panicked and ran for the door only to stumble over my dog on the way out of the house. I'm over the trial period and I don't trust this junk. My cellphone instantly tracks my family accurately but this collar does not. I want my money back!

  • @Hootie22B
    @Hootie22B Год назад +1

    When pulling up the map for my dogs hike/walk it is not accurate. Many times my iPhone shows the complete map and correct distance on a mountain hike but the FI tracker sometimes is a half/full mile off.. If my phone is getting signal I would think the FI 3 series would be get signal, not happy with that at all. If we get separated in the mountain and it’s not tracking what good is it?? It is great as far as everything else.
