There's some confusion out there so I wanted to clarify. MSTR adopted FASB 1.1.2025 so their earnings on Feb 5th won't include the price appreciation of their bitcoin as that is for Q4 2024. They report their Q1 2025 in May
Early adoption [of this FASB standard] is permitted, including adoption in an interim period…[and] if an entity elects to adopt in an interim period, the guidance would be applied as of the beginning of the fiscal year that includes that interim period.” Reference: FASB Proposed ASU on Crypto Assets, March 2023, p. 35-36
I Hit $32,590 today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last week. i started with 5k in last week 2025.... now i just hit $32,590
These 3 guys represent 75% of the only people I listen to on a regular basis. Pretty exciting to see them talking together. Matt Kratter is the only one missing.
Yep, that is true. I think the presenters on this video are not as clued up to all the data as they pretend to be. I just can't work out why MSTR didn't go FASB earlier, was it the tax implications that were putting them off?
can you elaborate on this, for example tesla used new fasb in their latest earnings report from q4 2024, it also helped them report quite a nice gain. Why would mstr hold on for one more quarter?
FASB’s new crypto accounting rule (effective Jan 1, 2025) allows early adoption for 2024-meaning companies can switch to fair-value reporting on Bitcoin sooner, as long as they apply it from the start of that fiscal year 2024. This opens the door to immediate upward gains on crypto holdings. Reference: FASB Proposed ASU on Crypto Assets, March 2023, p. 35-36
Building a good investment portfolio is more complex, so I would recommend seeking expertise from professionals with top-notch experience, insights, and strategies to secure and minimize the possibilities of losses
This is good intel. That Tesla gain was 20 percent of their total I believe which is massive considering their holdings. TSLA rallied massively but think it was more to do with Optimus.
just to clarify on how Tether made billions in profit - due to accounting regulation, for every USDT they print, they need to hold equivalent amount of cash or cash-equivalents on their balance sheet. US Treasuries have been considered such an cash-equivalent, as it is generally taken that US government will not default on its debt (hence triple-A rating). Thanks to the rising interest rates, if you put 100 billion you hold into US Treasuries (Tether is among top 20 largest holders of US government debt btw) , you can easily make 4%+ per year, every year, regardless of whether people "invest" in you like they would in MSTR or NVDA...
Great show Gents! Following crypto and finance for years w RUclips and other education (classes, seminars) Your content is much appreciated! Giving % change with FASB or without bitcoin and showing actual financials from MSTR without btc I have not seen. Nice discussion regarding FASB in general. More people need to see you work! How long before buying PURE BTC is no longer an option? Or without paying a massive premium. One day the only access to BTC could be thru proxies, IE MSTR.
Absolutely. MSTR will likely be the only way to leverage an investment in BTC soon. All the loose and speculative BTC owners will be bought out and little will be sold pushing the price up dramatically. Where can I deploy 50B in capital to get a 20% year over year return. MSTR.
I don't think the earnings figures will be a catalyst this quarter, it will probably be more to do with what Saylor says or doesn't say. The range at the moment appears to be around $300 to $360.
I heard that micro strategy is going to hold off on implementing Fabian until their May earnings call. Could you guys check this out? I’m not sure if this is true or not. I thought they were gonna do it. This is called next week but nobody’s been talking about it.
MSTR will post a profit. But since they are technically not profitable- how do they pay the taxes on that profit? Do they have to sell and reduce their inventory to cover? If MSTR sells BTC, how will that affect investor perception... and price?
there is no way you can think we will not need more and more advanced processing…especially as AI makes us smarter. Real world AI can’t be done with old technology in a reasonable amount of time…not to mention competitive factors.
Think Feb earnings is Q4, they may not utilize FASB til the next earnings date. "MSTR Earnings Date Earnings announcement* for MSTR Feb 05, 2025 MicroStrategy Incorporated Common Stock Class A is expected* to report earnings on 02/05/2025 after market close. The report will be for the fiscal Quarter ending Dec 2024. The reported EPS for the same quarter last year was $0.56."
30 billion is overkill and a waste to report. If they can amortize that gain over several years they could use it to beat estimates, reliably, every quarter.
If mstr dont go back to 400 after tesla just popped on their btc Holdings there is some bs going on.. and next earnings if btc goes to 110k 120k it should go even higher
MSTR 🚀🚀🚀 Quarter Earnings Days Away. Publicly Traded Companies will get Triggered 😮 they will ask themselves why don't i have a Rocketship (BTC) Tesla has a Rocket Ship, MSTR has a Rocketship , the ETF Companies have Rocketships...😊

Get out of MSTR end of 2025. Once Bitcoin hits 180,000 you need to be very cautious with MSTR. However, if Bitcoin hits 180,000 around July or August I think you can ride MSTR a little longer.
If Saylor pops up an $84bn plan (double the last one) then it could fly otherwise this earnings will probably be a damp squib. It's the next earnings (for Q1 2025) that will potentially be explosive (or implosive if BTC and the markets crumble with Trumps tariffs ).
There's some confusion out there so I wanted to clarify. MSTR adopted FASB 1.1.2025 so their earnings on Feb 5th won't include the price appreciation of their bitcoin as that is for Q4 2024. They report their Q1 2025 in May
What happens to MSTR mkt cap once they value their BTC under the new FASB rules? Does it spike, causing big price appreciation?

FASB’s new crypto accounting rule (effective Jan 1, 2025) allows early adoption for the 2024 fiscal year.

Great talk. You guys should definite turn it into a regular podcast like the True North MSTR group has done with their show.

would be legendary if we got bitcoin university on our show. Thanks for watching!
Great seeing you guys all together.
Also since MSTR adopted FASB from 1.1.2025, we need to wait for 1st quarter earnings (May 2025) and not 4th quarter earnings ( February 2025)
This is what I understood too but this doesn't seem to be what is belng said in this video for some reason.. unless I'm misunderstanding something 🤔

What's the most common winning investment strategy for a beginner looking to invest in the crypto markets?
As a beginner, having a mentor is crucial for accountability. Fortunately, I am guided by Ava Jenkins, a well-respected crypto consultant
Please educate me. I've come across this name before. Now I am interested. How can I reach her?

Correct, they also have rolled a lot of their profits into other assets, supposedly they hold 15% of their balance sheet in bitcoin.
Great work! Excellent commentary, thanks 👍

And they’ve been buying a loooot of bitcoin.
Good pod. No hype, just insightful discussion. 🎯👍🏻

About Tether being ''compatible with Bitcoin on the Lightning Network''... I don't get it. What does that mean?

@mcnicollvincent9318 USDT is an asset that can be utilized on the lighting network now. Couple days old info, so you may not have seen it.
Why did MSTR not adopt FASB earlier? Is it concerned by the tax implications? If it adopted earlier then it could have already been in profit.
yes, It will show profit now instead negative eps

Lots more to come!
If you could only invest in MSTR, BTC or TSLA which one would you invest in? Just curious.... No financial advice...
BTC
Thank you, great stuff.
Why is fasb important, every broker will strip it out for valuation purposes?
How is it profit if it isn't sold?
It's marked to market. Unrealized profit

Zero. It's an accounting change that let them account for the unrealized profits as earnings.

Think Feb earnings is Q4, they may not utilize FASB til the next earnings date. "MSTR Earnings Date
Earnings announcement* for MSTR
Feb 05, 2025
MicroStrategy Incorporated Common Stock Class A is expected* to report earnings on 02/05/2025 after market close. The report will be for the fiscal Quarter ending Dec 2024. The reported EPS for the same quarter last year was $0.56."
I think they are required too use the new accounting rules as of January, 2025.
@adrianlinebergeriii9689 yup, which would be after dec 2024, which is when Feb 5th earnings end. Per the copy/paste quote above.
30 billion is overkill and a waste to report. If they can amortize that gain over several years they could use it to beat estimates, reliably, every quarter.
They can't do that.
When will MSTR recover?
If mstr dont go back to 400 after tesla just popped on their btc Holdings there is some bs going on.. and next earnings if btc goes to 110k 120k it should go even higher
It’s been Saylor’s accretive dilution keeping the price down. Sucks for short term holders, helps long term holders.
TSLA seemed to go up once musk started talking about Optimus. It initially was down when earnings first came out.
Jeff Booth would be proud
Thank you
Seems like the fud b4 the run.. if mstr 🚀 off btc holdings that mght open the door for other companies to add it to their balamce sheet
Other companies have to have noticed BTC saved TSLAs ass on profits.
MicroStrategy states the average purchase price as $62,473.01 USD per bitcoin
doesn't matter what their avg purchase price is. it's marketed at when they adopted fasb which was jan 1st. btc was trading at roughly 93k

Get out of MSTR end of 2025. Once Bitcoin hits 180,000 you need to be very cautious with MSTR. However, if Bitcoin hits 180,000 around July or August I think you can ride MSTR a little longer.
Won’t their earnings be bases on the BTC price as of 12/31 x their holdings on that date?
I predict the next MSTR earnings call will be a sound bomb that shakes the world .

The aggregate economy is MSTRs biggest risk. Liquidity drive thanks to Musk/Trump deliberately crashing the economy.
Your FASB explanation was vague & unclear, frustrating..
