I did the Wild Cave Tour with my daughter maybe 14 years ago. We down there for 6.5 hours and had a pretty adventurous group and some young guides so we got the full monty. We did all the ones in this video (the bare hole war funny...the guy in front of me got stuck so I had to push him on the butt with my feet) but things really got interesting after our break. We did a chimney climb but we then descended down to the water level and crawled through this tunnel on our hands and knees with water cutting a channel in the rock. I got my foot stuck in the channel and when I finally got it free I kicked the woman behind me in the face (she had a nice shiner). We entered this three dome cathedral from this passage way and the guides said the sound down here was really great and would anyone like to sing a song? My daughter breaks out this beautiful Irish ballad sung in Gallic and we were all just amazed.
honestly, i'm proud of the guy for admitting his limitations. as a native kentuckian, i know that that cave is scary and it's understandable why he had a panic attack. i probably would have too. honestly as a veterinary student, the wildlife and biology aspects are my favorite.
I've done this cave tour among all the other tours of mammoth cave and believe me this doesn't give the full cave crawl tour justice. It's by far the most epic adventure I've ever had!
I've done the crawl tour and it was amazing. You get to see parts of the cave no one really gets to see. This video doesn't even give it justice for how cool it was.
Totally! Never easy to film while crawling through a dark cave, lol! Hopefully this will inspire people to get out there and check it out for themselves.
I did the Wild Cave Tour about 25 years ago. It was a very memorable day, but I definitely would not attempt it again now. There were around 12 people, the maximum number allowed per day, and two guides. One of the guys, who was probably around the age that I am now, was not able to make it through one of the more challenging tight crawls, and had to go back with one of the guides. Do it while you're young and fit!
was just there 4 months ago. i did many tours. my favorite was the intro to caving. wish i also did the 6 hour one also. was so fun. just blows my mind on how the found these caving plus the caving ones where it opens up. those are the cool ones the ones that go to dead ends could make you dead, and they did that back when they didnt have long lasting light sources.
Just found y'all's channel and I've gotta say I love what y'all are doing. Great production quality and great adventure. I looking forward to going to Mammoth Cave for the first time in a few days.
Cave tip... bring a flashlight... I finally realized I have one on my phone!! You don’t need one for safety reasons but there are plenty of things on the sides and walls and ceiling that aren’t illuminated that you want to see...
@@petvideoheaven3485 Just got back from my trip. I will definitely go back someday, but for now, very little of the cave is accessible, and it's a "self-guided" tour. Of course, it's not really guided at all, as there's no audio tour or booklet (not that you could read one in the dark anyway). But they have rangers posted throughout to answer questions, and they're quite skilled at answering questions with in-depth fascinating stories, so they're doing the best they can. But the 'best' parts of the cave system aren't accessible right now. However, the park itself - and the campground (which is where I stayed) - are very nice, and immaculately maintained. Some nice hikes above ground, ranger presentations in the evening. It was at such a presentation that I learned about Stephen Bishop, and was so intrigued, I bought a book about him. (Google 'Stephen Bishop Mammoth Cave') Overall, it's a fantastic National Park, it's just not really functioning on all cylinders right now. But I'll be back!!
Oh wow. I'm so disappointed with the lack of decoration in the sections of Mammoth you were in. Then again, the only commercial cave I've been in is Carlsbad Caverns. All of the others I've been in have been wild. I can't count them all any more. My favorites though were ones in the Guadalupe cave system which Carlsbad is a part of. Hell Below, Three Fingers, Cottonwood, Hidden ,Lechuguilla, long before it was closed to everyone but researchers, Cave of the Madonna is where I almost lost my life way down near the end of the lower level, of all places, not on the 200+ foot drop into the main room. Oh to be young again and do it all over!
Mammoth was pretty cool, if not the history alone. Carlsbad is in a league of it's own. We did the main cavern there as well as a little wild caving in another part of the park. It was a pretty insane experience.
@@RockTheParkOfficial Most definitely, especially when it's your first time doing a wild cave! I just wish you would have had the chance to rappel and to ascend a free fall.
Last time I was there some old guy could NOT stop farting 💨🤣 the moment they turned the lights out during the cave tour I was SERIOUSLY praying that he would let out a loud ass fart. Would have been the funniest thing in the history of the world.
I am having mini panic attacks just watching these guys, when they show the hole that is going to be gone through I have to look away, my biggest fear other than Bigfoot is getting stuck in a tiny crawl space in caves
As much money as Mammoth Cave is taking in, you would think they could get some decent lighting in there. I was surprised at how gloomy and dark it is, no excuse for it.
Both sides claimed they won that war. America maintained itself as an independent nation, which was not a given, so in the most important sense, we did win.
@Jack&Colton Have you guys been to Hoosier National forest? It may not seem like much with its stands of virgin forest peppered with exposed lyme stone faces. But Just like people, the true beauty lies beneath. And the underworld has recently been made available again to the serious caving comunity! I was lucky enough to see a beautiful system called Breathing hole during last year's Cave Capers. If you're interested in being put in touch with the foremost experts as well as the holders of the map and key, I'd be happy to assist. Keep up the good work and stay safe. ^.^

Hi Kady, what do you think the best cave to tour is? We are going to MCNP in late July and are looking to plan!
I love the Wild Cave tour! And the best part is that no two tours are never the same 🤗 there's so much cave to explore at Mammoth!

The New Entrance tour is my favorite tour there. I think its name something new now, though!
We were thinking of making the stop on one of our trips, sounds like it's worth it? We've been to Carlsbad... Curious how they compare!

@@ddd1hhh Yeah, I used my phone when I could, but they strongly remind you to keep flashlights pointed at the ground to avoid blinding other visitors.
it’s so crazy to me that mammoth cave is such a big thing . i’m from glasgow and i haven’t been since i was like 7 on a school trip lmaooo
Right! I live right next to the park. Didn't realize how popular it was.
This is amazing content tbh.
Thanks for watching!
That's looks amazing and id like to travel there, but The Descent has made me weary of the caves... hahahahaha
I've been there tourist parts were too claustrophobic lol
Way Cool 😃

Y'all were one tremor away from becoming future petroleum.
😆
But seriously, nice production.
This feels like a tv show, I much prefer the natural vlog style explorations.
The only time i ever went through a small space is when I was born... id like to keep it that way!
Braeden Stokes 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
😅 Oh man

I got claustrophobia (no joke) from just watching the last 5 minutes!!
I love this vidddd

Easy rhythm the mites go up and the tights go down
I love how you clean the shoes but not your pants or shirt or hands. LOL
We clean what they tell us too. Lol! Most people wash their clothes from spot to spot. You don't always wash your hiking boots.
But you don't wash the inside of your car that often....
Is this the cave tour that the adult price is $18 or other special tour?
Apparently this leads to Agartha (inner earth) 😳
Rachel Bell yassss
Having anxiety watching u crawl thru those tunnels
Im disappointed the end doesnt have a wooly mammoth :( but seriously tho, i would love to go crawling and walking around in mammoth cave!
Anyone else here in quarantine

Where is it

Agartha is near there
Did you find the gate to the hollow world?
I freak out too in that
bear hole
Man, it was a tight squeeze

Some people think the mammoth caves end at an inner/hollow earth.
There is a particular tunnel that is supposed to take you there.
That's a huge hell no on that cave divin

Say it with me- luoa-voe kentucky not luie ville ky😂 or Lewis ville ky
