I really want Dokkan to get into more of these "What-If' units. There is potential for so many different things that can introduced in this game. Plus that active skill looks really dope.
This card isn't so much a "what-if" card, but more of a homage to classic Toriyama art pieces like the SBR LR units. This unit in particular is based off the drawing he did of Goku and Gohan firing a kamehameha together while Gohan still has the cape.

@@aqua6166 Technically yes, but it isn't like a "what if Goku and Gohan fought Cell together" scenario but a "here's cool official artwork, let's build a unit around it" scenario.
So don't expect any what-if Gogeta and Vegito units or something zany like that lol.

this is a dope dokkan "original character" with unique and actually good animations! The active skill is on a completely different level though

I really like the art style they used for these animations. Something feels different about these ones and I feel they’re for the better. The colors in the active skill look great
Yup it has that classic DBZ color shading, it looks great. Wish super had it instead of the plastic action figure look, with the aura contrasting them.

@@SadMoribund Pan and Grandpa Gohan is a what if unit, PHY Lr SSJ2 vegeta's partner super attack is a what if Goku was able to get his power back
@@denisk5b Fair enough but Vegeta seems cheap since that's one super attack, I meant a whole unit.
If we're trying about super attacks, then LR Tapion is also a what if unit. Same as AGL Frieza except active skill.

These animations make me very excited for more what if characters they could add, or even characters already in game they could rerelease with unique super attacks
This is the coolest damn active skill in the game in my opinion and the super attack animations are pretty damn good too, they REALLY need to keep doing things like this.

That blue background into the power up into SSJ2 is 👌👌👌👌
The animations are pretty good. But oh my Zeno, that animation on the active skill is *FIRE*
Love how the light coming through Gohans mind signifying him breaking through the limits to ssj2 is now blue instead of red bc presumably in this card Android 16 wasn't sacrificed in order for Gohan to surpass his limits. Was through the power of father son bonding, a nice touch 😄
0:51 I just realized but it looked like Goku also went SSJ2 in the active
Goku pushed himself a little further to try to keep up in rally of Gohan. He's above his normal SSJ level
Pretty sure Goku turned SSJ2 there, noticeable change in the hair, where the strands are thinner and spiked outwards than regular ssj. So I was wondering if Goku could actually turn SSJ2 during the cell games but he gave Gohan a turn
@jpdeaquino no goku didn't, not only his hair moving in the wind from the blast, but it's based in an old official Artwork toriyama made. Goku could never go ssj2 in the Cell games. Goku hit his plateo, Gohan didn't and kept growing, not to mention his latent potential
Omg I fucking love these animations dude. This is probably my favorite looking unit in the game, one part of it is because gohan is my favorite db character the other is that I love the connection between goku and gohan in the cell saga honestly one of my favorite duos of all time
Crazy good animations. Makes me wonder what Dokkan had prepared for the release of Dragonball Superhero around this time if there wasn't a hack at the animation studios.

This card is the same concept as Frieza and King Cold, a pair of character that never fought together with combo moves but Dokkan made original SA for them together.
The only disparity is the animation quality, but that’a because of unit age + F2P vs summonable status.

We got one out of the ssj2 vegeta/ssj3 goku LR.
Unfortunately animations that are made from the ground up still cant compete with animations taken from the anime which is understandable. They would have to hire artists to draw new panels and animate them that way but thats probably pushing it. At least the active skill is pretty 🔥
But dawg compared to Hit and god Goku, these animations are veryyy good

100% agree with you my man, I thought it would be a remade version of the ssj2 father son kamehameha unit, I won’t say I am disappointed but it is definitely not as hype as I would expected, I’m sure this will be a very solid unit especially it is the 100th LR
People are not getting it, those are mostly not original, they are heavily referenced of various other scenes in the anime, it's like a collection of tons of random cuts. The only original part is the active skill (most of it, not everything) which looks good. There are some parts that look bad, yes, but it's very mixed between original and anime scenes.

The way goku motivate gohan and turn ssj 2 was clean as hell..
I love the active skill. His scream when he transforms gave me chills like the teq ssj2 gohan
The intros to both 12 and 18 ki are honestly really good, its more the combat parts thatre iffy and itll probably be that way for a while. I will say, to me, the spotty parts are Gokus entrance and kick on 12 ki
Finally, I’m now free to dream a LR Gogeta Blue, Hit and Jiren!
That’s from heros so it’s possible I believe the next hero’s collaboration will be ssj4s I can just feel that coming

i know it’s early to see how good the unit will be, but this should’ve been a super saiyan 2 gohan & super saiyan goku (angel) with the father-son kamehameha as the active skill to replace agl super saiyan gohan

They aren't though, This isn't a Hit and Godku situation, This shit is the best Dokkan Original Animations ever and this is up there with Anime Recreated Sa's
really like the active skill, super attacks i’m kinda meh on just seem kind of boring but i also understand with the movie being pushed back that maybe the animations couldn’t be as polished and good as they’ve been lately

Nah that active skill animation is honestly probably the best in the game
It definitely has a dokkan original look to it like teq gogeta's 12 ki, but luckily it isn't too bad, but still just the weird outlining almost makes it look like the goten and trunks part of fusion reborn with that strange cartoony feel.

Reaaaaal funny how the background between gohan transforming is blue instead of red. It's almost similar to when gohan was transforming in the Super Hero Trailer and the text was blue instead of red. Just seems weird, right?
