Hey! I bought this recently as well. Thought you might like to know if you hold the bottom circle button (if the buttons are on the left) then it will open a display adjustment menu :) so you can change brightness etc. -- I did it on accident :|... then found out you have to wait a few minutes after you are done with the settings and it will close out the menu for display settings, and then a minute or so later will go back to being your specified hot keys. The way it closes out of that menu was strange, because the menu closes, but the buttons just bring it back up if you push them too early.

11gingin high end tablets are $950 and above. Based off of the market this is an affordable tablet along with some of the others he has featured.

I'm glad to see a review for this one. After weeks of research and being rejected in getting the Gaomon PD1560, I had it narrowed down to this one and the XP-pen Artist 15.6.
With the Pre-sale in November, I pounced on this one but was worried since i hadnt seen any real reviews of the model that had not been released as of that time.
which one did you end up buying?
Great review. March 2020 today and there is a version 3 now. It has tilt function for the pen and does not need charging or battery.

Thanks for the review, ended up buying one for myself. It was on sale from $570 to $360 so it was a really good deal. Was debating between this, the XP-Pen Artist 16, and the Gaomen or w.e.

I've been using an Ipad Pro that I've had for Christmas two or so years ago and while I am content with what it provides, it is a bit difficult to transfer work from said tablet to my computer. Granted there are software that allow me to utilize the ipad just like these tablet monitors, but they are inefficient considering all of the their reviews mention lag that is pretty noticeable and can even effect line you make when drawing. Not only that, having access to Photoshop, Illustrator and other drawing programs without having to meddle in uploading stuff to google drive just to transfer would help save a lot of time for me and feel a lot more fluid in having tools that work well together. Do you think that this tablet would be a good "step up" option to go for, considering this is not only less expensive, but also provides a lot of what I am looking for?
I am on the fence with this one and the Huion Kavmas GT 191 and the size of the 19.5 is really appealing but the short cut buttons and slider as well as the different glass surface have me second guessing my first choice. This is a gift for my daughter who spends a lot of time in various adobe software programs for digital art. .She has a 19 inch main monitor. Portability is not a concern/selling point. the express keys and slider sure look good but the biggest things is how much better is the glass on the GT-156HD V2 and the size difference. . Oh, she has been using a small Wacom Intuos Photo tablet.

Tis tablet vs gaomon, which one is better?
Nice review. I am torn between this and gt 191. Does this tablet have too much jittery lines? Like not very smooth while drawing slowly. Many reviewrs said that about gt 191. I do mostly drawings with lineart like your drawing here. Is this good for that?
Hey Mikey love these reviews, i need to ask a question im looking to buy a 15" display, im currently looking at either the gaomon 1560 or the Kamvas 156hd, in your opinion which would be the best buy?
I remember when I had the same problem with that cursor-resolution-pen-following-thing with my GAOMON, and I actually wasn't able to figure it out for such a long time. I found it out by just trying that one option I didn't try before. I actually did set my resolution to 720p on my Tablet because I couldn't figure it out for so long.
Mickey, i know you said in the video that i gotta change the size resolution to 100% to fix the pen being off, but after i do that, my pen is still a bit off, a few millimeters. Was yours also a bit off and you just dealt with it?
Love your art and your videos! I can't decide between this model, and the kamvas pro 13, I keep swapping between the 2, I can't find many differences between them, is there a good comparison chart/video anywhere?? Can you do one?

I already have a tablet but i have always wanted one were i can draw on the screen and see what im drawing like in this video....now the questions is to get a new tablet or just keep using the one i have cuz i have no probs with it hmm :p

A bit late but: The Huion has a heck lot of express keys, but they’re somewhat well known for being unreliable with drivers and just faulty stuff in general; if you’re ok with that the Huion seems pretty nice! The Gaomon is more budget friendly at about $410 USD.
XP Pen sells two devices: the Artist 15.6 and the Artist 16 Pro. The 15.6 sells for $360 USD and is great! The main reason why the Artist 16 Pro costs $460 ($100 more) is because of the screen, which is the most accurate on a non-Wacom alternative that I know of.
I’m always watching videos like this, and I’m always wondering does the pen make a difference in how smooth the ink comes out? All my digital pictures never look smooth but always chunky when I use my pen when drawing online.

@mikeymegamega - there's an OSD setting if you hold the bottom center button for 3-5 seconds and it will pop up.
I don't have the tablet (yet), but on their website they say you can hold one of those buttons to open up a OSD display letting you change settings...
Can you increase the brightness with that?

@mikeymegamega Apparently, by keeping pressed the round wheel-button to the bot-left side, you can enter the settings menu.

hey! great review :) my friend recently let me draw digitally on her touch screen laptop (w the fire alpaca program) and i fell in love with the digital process. i'm an avid sketcher with a pencil, but through my friend, i've discovered i much prefer drawing digitally. i'm looking for a tablet upon which i can draw directly; is there a cheaper option than this? i know there are tablets you can draw on, but it only shows up on the computer monitor (ex. wacom). i'm new to this so i just want to make sure i get all the info before possibly making a purchase. thanks so much xx

On a pixel by pixel level of exactness is this on par with the GT 221 pro? In need of tablet due to 12wx being you know... the 12wx so I want a good size screen but a high level of precision. Is the higher price really worth it? Any news on them coming out with a bigger size screen in this form factor? Thanks anybody for your help!

Which one is better, this or the Gaomon PD1560?
Early for great art
just bought the V1 of this in April - been dealing with service support since it broke a few weeks ago. After the first month, they require you to pay to ship you under warranty parts and they sent me the wrong power block (so on to round two on trying to get mine fixed). My tablet is still broke and been without a tablet for a few weeks. Their tablets are nice but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
Hi Mikey. Very nice review. But now I've got a question. I bought this tablet, and now (after properly calibrating it) I see the projected tip of the stylus, on the drawing surface, in a different position depending on how I hold the pen. When I hold the pen the same way I calibrated it, then it's spot on where I would expect it. When I hold the pen in a different way (tilt and angle) the projected point is slightly off. This is my first pen-dispay so I don't know if what I'm seeing is a bug or to be expected. Is this normal and something I'll have to get used to?
hello if you had to choose between all the tablets with screen which would you choose between xp-pen, gaomon, huinion and other brands? (not wacom obviously being too expensive) in short, what would be your favorite?

Hello there Mikey, I will like to ask, does this tablet comes with a screen protector? As far as I know scratches on the screen is a real problem for this drawing monitors. And if not, could you suggest and alternative for protection?
Well I got this Huion and like has been said in this video and others that have reviewed it the screen is a bit dim, but, workable. We took awhile to calibrate it manually and that did help, but it really is a bit dim. The think that is really doing us in is the pen keeps changing from the "brush" mode to the "erase" mode, over and over again. I have recalibrated the pen I don't know how many times, turned the computer and tablet on and off, made sure there was no conflicting software issues (old wacom drivers, anti-virus software, etc.), and de-installed and re-installed the drivers from Huion's site. The pen will work for awhile and then loses it's &*# and gets stuck in eraser mode.
Another thing is that the tablet keys refuse to be set. No matter how many times we try to set them, aside from the sliding scrolling bar (which we have set to zoom in and out) NOTHING else works (aside from the lower wheel and button in the middle of the wheel) which is the brightness and contrast, etc., for the monitor. So I have been trying to get ahold of Huion (chat) and they keep not being available except to email me later. This isn't helping. So anyone have any idea what gives with this. We are just about ready to package it back up and return it.
I got the brush-eraser issue too. Probably it's because one of the keys on your pen has the shortcut set for the eraser. Try change the shortcut from the huion driver.

got the huion KAMVAS GT-156HDV2 but the HDMI cord was very loose and if you touch it slightly, it turns off, also we could not get it to work in any drawing program at all and the driver was not working, so we returned it and now I'm getting the artisul d13

It is sooo difficult to decide which tablet to get lol. I haven't got heaps of desk space but I so badly want the Huion GT-221, but it seems this would be easier to use on my desk....
Which tablet would you recommend to work anywhere? without the need to bring your computer/laptop along.
Someone else's review had on display control for display setting, I think they had to hold the bottom hotkey for a bit for it to appear, might be in the manual so read it up. Otherwise good review I like it.

There are so many good and new 16" tablets lately. Huion KAMVAS v2, Gaomon, Artisul, XP-Pen... how do each of these stack up against each other?
I have this question too - but you have to remember there are also newer versions at 15.6" too... Think you have to look at what is available in your country. The Artisuls are not available above 13" in the UK. I've seen the Gaomon in person - flaky build but really good drawing experience. I need something that'll last - would prefer the Artisul but I "believe" the XP Pen uses the same UC-Logic digitiser. Still researching...

@Kitchakat, in the UK there's a £51 price difference so that's a guide for me. Down to a comparison of customer service next I suppose.
If the Artisul D16 comes out in the UK soon I'm ordering that though.
My boyfriend got the artisul d13 which broke twice in 2 weeks and then a d16 which had issues. He ended up getting a huion gt156 v2 just like mine. I'd definitely recommend huion much more as there have been zero issues so far for both of us.

Hi I use the same tablet, and there's this night mode where the tablet puts a filter on itself at a specific time of the day and it really affects my colouring so how do it turn it off?
I have a XP-Pen Artist 22E and have been looking for another one more portable for on the go drawing with my laptop, and honestly, even though I would love to get one of these for that, I wouldn't say any tablet with a power cord is portable friendly :/ (currently I'm between the parblo coast 13 and the artisul d13 just for that, sadly the xp-pen 13 has a power cord too)
