Looking forward to riding the New Sidewinder! We have a trip planned for the week of February 5th at the Overlook Motel in maine if your interested? Happy New Year, God Bless!

      Hey Robert,
      I’ve ridden in Upper Maine (Last season) and Quebec many times. I’ve never been but I have watched videos for Gaspe and it looks beautiful up there.
      Good eye! 👀 I just removed the hand guards before this ride because I installed an Arctic Cat handlebar bag. The bag wouldn’t fit over the hand guard brackets so I took them off. Going forward, I am putting the hand guards back on because the handle bar doesn’t let me see the gauges and I don’t like that. Thanks for the invite but Sadly I already have reservation at that time up north to ride. We’re definitely looking to head back to Maine or New Brunswick at some point this season. Happy New Year and God Bless. Stay Safe.. 🤙🏼

    Nice video. How do like the 225 tune? I know my sled responds much better with the Hurricane tunes. I haven't ridden Old Forge in years. I need to get back up there, use to ride up there all the time.

    • @SometimeIsNow
      @SometimeIsNow  Год назад

      Hey Edward,
      Thanks for stopping to check out the video. 👍🏼 I’m loving the 225 tune. I also have the Closed Loop system installed Hurricane offers that monitors AFR for better fuel economy. As soon as snow and cold returns I have to test and tune the Dalton adjustable clutch weights in the primary and then i can bump it up to 240 & 270hp. I have the gauge cluster 3 tune. I just need to figure out the weights to keep the rpms down. When I jump up to the higher hp tunes I’ll take off the stock Cat belt as I have the Ultimax X829 belt to install. I’ve read that belt handles the hp better and knocks the rpms down 100-200 rpms. This was my first time riding in Old Forge since I was very young and appreciated Paiste and Duke leading me around that area. THINK SNOW ❄🥶

    • @edwardspross9760
      @edwardspross9760 Год назад +1

      @@SometimeIsNow I am running the 225 to 270 tunes. I run 225 and 240 most of the time, when I run 270, I have to run more weight. I have been using the XS 825 belt as I am running a Sidewinder. I have been using the stingray magnetics weights, but I have some Dalton weights that I am waiting to try when we get some more snow. I find I have to run a fairly high spring pressure on the secondary. I believe the cats use a team secondary so that is a different set up then the Yamaha, but I believe you will need to tighten up your secondary too. I needed to add weight even on the 225 tunes. The XS belt does help to bring the rpms downs as it seems to grip better. Thanks for the videos if I can't be riding, I enjoy you r vids .

      @@edwardspross9760 Thanks for the response and for watching. This is my first Cat and I’m always gathering info as I go. I know the cat clutches are different than the Yamaha ones for the Sidewinder, especially now that for ‘22 ans Cat introduced the ADAPT primary and Team secondary. I bought the Dalton QA3 clutch arms with adjustable tip weight made specifically for the ADAPT clutch. I have read that when you start adding weight you raise your engagement RPM’s and I can control that with adjusting tip weight in the arms. I really don’t want to start changing springs if I dont have to. Hurricane doesn’t list I have to change springs, just arm weight. 🤷🏼‍♂ So you’re running the same weights for the 225 & 240 tunes? Thanks again for watching. HAPPY NEW YEAR !! ❄❄

    • @edwardspross9760
      @edwardspross9760 Год назад +1

      @@SometimeIsNow I am running the same weights for the 225 and 240 tunes. I try to keep the rpms in the 8800 to 8900 range. I find that when you add weight your engagement rpm drops. I am running a stock primary spring as I like the stock engagement and a stiffer aftermarket [ DALTON] secondary spring and stock helix. I have some different weights to try if we get some snow. I usually spend more time on my clutch set ups, but the last couple of years when we get snow, I rather be riding than tunning. I have it running pretty decent on the 225 and 240 tune Next year I will probably go with the closed loop system. Adding tip weight should drop your rpm down. Dave from Hurricane is usually pretty close on his clutch set ups. HAPPY NEW YEAR

      Hey Pierce,
      Thanks for stopping by to check out the video. It's appreciated. I honestly don't have a racing background. I've just been riding snowmobiles since I was 11 yrs old and my obsession with making my sleds ride and handle the best they can. This being my first Arctic Cat I've owned I took it on as a project to make it ride like a Skidoo with R-motion with better handling. I felt the Procross skid isn't inferior, it's just hindered by the shocks Cat puts on these sleds when stock. It now rides and handles like it should from the factory. 😁 Take Care and THINK SNOW ❄❄

    I’m in NE Ohio and have a 2 up sled. I would love to find a place to go with my wife and 13 year old daughter where we can rent a sled and be good for inexperienced riders, my wife and daughter have only been on the back. They bought me a Ski Doo Grand Touring 900 Ace Turbo 2 years ago for Christmas. We don’t get enough snow to ride locally so I always trailer..Do you have any suggestions on where to go for a Family trip & also where to rent?

    • @SometimeIsNow

      Hey jpaul,
      Yeah… I can’t imagine there being much riding in NE Ohio area. Snowmobile rental places, I only know of two up north in Old Forge.
      RPM snowmobile rentals - www.rpmsnowmobilerentals.com
      ADK Snowmobile outfitters - snowmobileoutfitters.com
      I could recommend Old Forge area but only if most of NYS has snow. Meaning, NY needs snow everywhere for the traffic to be less. When NY gets snow everywhere most people will ride near where they live and not travel to Old Forge to ride. That will create far less traffic for you and your family to enjoy the trails they have to offer. There’s a nicer hotel right in town across from Enchanted Forest. Waters Edge Inn www.watersedgeinn.com
      I could recommend Winona State Forest in Lacona NY for a day of riding for you and your family but there’s no place around that I know of that rents sleds near by.
