    Why did you need to put a wire to the handbrake for the audio system?

    • @davidvanryn
      @davidvanryn  2 года назад +1

      So honestly I haven't even noticed so far why I needed to do it. But I believe to connect to bluetooth you're supposed to have it wired to the handbrake. I have no clue why but that's what the manual said (so you're not messing with it while driving I guess??) You may not have to do that! I always connect via USB so it will charge anyway.

      @@davidvanryn you could have just wired that green Wire which Is supposed to be wired to handbrake to the power with red , don’t have to be messing with the wiring of the handbrake then 😁

      @@insaf2668 oh nice! I’ve only needed to use it once. It makes you have the handbrake on when connecting via Bluetooth. Once it’s connected though you don’t ever need to do that again. Kinda dumb to be honest haha! That’s good to know for others that may try this, I’ll pin this so they can see it. Thank you!

      @@davidvanryn It is a safety thing. The parking brake switch will tell the stereo when to unlock certain functions, it is an annoying anti-distracted driving thing. I always ground mine out to the frame or a ground.

    This is a great video, and certainly helped me with the installation of a new JVC/Kenwood deck into my daughters Prado 90 series.
    For anyone interested, you can purchase the wiring harness that makes life so easy, virtually plug n play. We literally had it all installed within half an hour.

      If you’re a better mechanic than me it shouldn’t, haha! Also ordering and testing parts for an import slowed the process down some. Thanks for the watching!

      @@davidvanryn Hahah, I agree and also totally understand your efforts, DIY things can bring so much fun despite sometimes it’s also time consuming. Just curious 🧐 Are you living in North America, I guess your prado is directly imported from Japan, is there any legal issue of driving RHD cars?

    • @davidvanryn
      @davidvanryn  2 года назад +1

      @@admd8167 it’s definitely a great way to learn more about your car, I’ve already learned a lot! Yes, I’m in the United States, our law here is pretty lenient on what you can import as long as it’s 25 years old or older. I believe you can in Canada as well but it’s only 15 years there! The only issue you may face is getting it registered and plated but most states won’t give you any issues. Mine was a breeze, but you would not be able to register it in California unfortunately. I got mine from a dealer called Japanese Classics in Richmond, Virginia! I’m not sure how difficult it would be to import on your own, as I got mine from a dealer they already did the hard paperwork with the states to get a U.S. title. All I had to do was transfer the title to me.

    Thumbs down for this loud awful music.. I don't think majority of people is going to like this kind of music, and if they did, then they would probable look for music video, not "how to do" video. Imagine.. playing this video late at night (early on the morning) and you raise up the amp or sound way up so you can hear the guy talk.. (speaken very low and unclear but with music) then all the sudden this music get louder which wake up your better half and even more, the dog.
