This is one of the best movies of all time for me. A father makes the hardships of the nazis a game in the eyes of his son and in the end he died to save him. Bennini deserved the oscar 100%

It is nothing like that. Rather, it is the story of a father's love for his wife and little boy, and how he tried to protect the little lad from the viciousness of the Nazis. I found watching it a tremendously uplifting experience.

The movie Life Is Beautiful, La vita è Bella in Italiano, is a very well put film that shows such great acting and emotion which help the viewer to understand more of what is going on. I absolutely adore how the movie is on Nazis and Fascists yet with the help of little Guido, one of the main protagonists, help make the movie much more about the beautiful human spirit and less about a sad film. Do not get me wrong, there are parts in this film that made me full of sorrow and I had to get tissue, I am a very sympathetic person though. Throughout the whole movie your emotions get out with laughter, crying and smiling even when the event going on in the background is so depressing. Such a good way to try and wheel away from that! Great actors playing great roles! Not many films can manage to pull of that kind of view on such a topic, but this movie somehow exceeds your expectations, amazing and well put out. These were such a great two hours of my life, ten out of ten would recommend this to all to view and appreciate such a magnificent film!
I really loved the sudden shock of realisation of what time period this movie describes. One scene is full of wit, laughter, happiness, flirtiness and not even a minute later, you are thrown into a fascist world of hate, anger and racism. It contrasts these two motives magnificiently
