It's adult critics judging a movie adaption of book series that mainly appeals to young kids. So hopefully it's just critics being critics and ho humming about Dav Pilkey style lowbrow humor and weird premises. Dog man is well beloved by its main demographic, so I hope it does well.
@CinePhile_Girl_Mahira exactly! Finally someone is talking. Them complaining about how the story relies on humor or other bs is stupid because THATS LITERALLY THE POINT and you're not supposed to question it
Today I'm going to watch the movie. I've been a Dog Man fan since a long time ago and yes, the books and plot might look bizarre, but somehow the last books are kinda deep although being a kids book.
As a Dogman fan since 2016 and has collected all the dogman books, your review has really excited me and made me happy I'm happy this childhood book series didn't get ruined
I have the books all the way up to mothering heights. My parents don't buy me shit but I still really enjoy this series. I've always wanted to see dog man get turned into a movie and I'm really glad that it finally did. Brings back so many nostalgic memories and it was a big part of my childhood
Imagine also like how the characters say seriously wrong, and the dialogue is kinda funky or weird sometimes like how they say “Nstuff” a lot, or like how the building have weird names or misspellings, and that’s cuz as you probably know, dogman is actually a comic created by George and Harold in kindergarten, and they’re kids, so there are mistakes here and there lmao. I also love how the movie takes inspiration from like, the first 5 or 6 books Like how the origin was from the first The whole flippy thing that chief presented about to dogman was from book 2 lil petey and 80HD were created in book 3 The cheese steak was in book 4 The robotic bee was from book 5 I thinkkk grandpas first appearance was in book 6, but yea I also love how the movie replicates EXACT scenes from the book My bad for yapping so much lmao
I’ve been reading the books since 2019, and since 2020, I was desperate for a film adaptation. And I do not care what anyone says, this movie is a masterpiece no matter how many flaws it has.
I would love to give my thoughts but I live in Australia, and apparently, Australia has to wait til freaking April to see this movie. Not sure why that keeps happening with Dreamworks movies, it’s so fucking annoying. Like…. the movie is finished guys, stop making us wait!!!
January 2025 best to worst... 1. Companion (9.2/10) 2. Presence (8.8/10) 3. Paddington in Peru (8.5/10) 4. Dog Man (8/10) 5. Wolf Man (7.3/10) 6. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera (6.8/10) 7. Flight Risk (6.5/10) 8. Star Trek: Section 31 (1/10) the best january in years...
Honestly really enjoyed this one. Took my niece and nephew who have read them. Like I laughed out loud multiple times 😂 Pete Davidson was born to play an animated villain cat I’m telling you.
I haven’t read dog man in a while… I couldn’t remember almost anything until this trailer came out. My whole elementary school childhood moments came back. I luv it and I didn’t even see the movie yet❤
I use to read the dog man books when I was younger and I'm debating on if I should watch this. When I watched the trailer I thought this was just going to be another generic kids book adaptation but I'm glad to see that there are some good bits as mentioned in this video! 👍
@@vetzmovies It has a much smaller budget compared to other animated movies ($40 million budget) and is projected to gross up to $25-$40 million in opening weekend and it has a smaller runtime which could make for more theatre screenings, so I doubt it'll bomb
@owenl6077 Not too sure about that, I've seen loads of TV spots, the trailer has almost 30 million views, it got a roblox game and dog man is a franchise that kids love and adults have a lot of nostalgia for and the books are marketing it and they tend to do well in sales
As a person who's read all 13 books and was waiting for this movie since the announcement in December 2020, this is a Dream Come true.
Same
Did you read the 2 new ones
When Dog Man has better jokes than Red One 💀
🤣🤣🤣

As someone who read the books when i was little, i really enjoyed this this movie for nostalgia reasons
Honestly really enjoyed this one. Took my niece and nephew who have read them. Like I laughed out loud multiple times 😂 Pete Davidson was born to play an animated villain cat I’m telling you.
Did anyone else see George and Harold saying “I can see my house from here” in the big fight with the buildings?
10/10 as a guy who grew up with dog man I saw every reference to the books.
I haven’t read dog man in a while… I couldn’t remember almost anything until this trailer came out. My whole elementary school childhood moments came back. I luv it and I didn’t even see the movie yet❤
i gave it a 7/10 i thought it was very accurate to the books definitely worth the watch
2:16 Valskibum’s Dog Man video thumbnail
I actually forgot it released yesterday-
I’ve been reading this since it began, so glad it’s finally getting a movie
As someone who grew up on the books as a kid and was obsessed with them, they knocked it out of the park.

As a person who doesn’t know anything about Dog Man, I really enjoyed this movie a lot. I agree with your rating, 7/10 for me.
I just saw your review on Letterbox
I didn’t even know the movie was out lol
Can you make a video on which super bowl trailers you are most excited for?
Bro but why did the movie have to release on national tickle day?(this is an actual thing)
It’s great but I would’ve loved to see piggy
Life’s not fair .
I’m not sure if I wanna watch this movie ?
i watched it a Few hours ago And i Totally Recommend it.
@ I think I’ll try it out
It's good I enjoyed it
Dreamworks always cooks with the movies that sound terrible on paper
Kung Fu panda, Puss in Boots 2, Megamind, Captain Underpants
I loved dog man book 1 throw 6 it was good
I read the books when I was younger and they are really good haven’t I will see the movie tho
Even a mid DreamWorks movie is still better than any Disney animated movie from the last decade
The movie was pretty good 7.5/10
Not an Oscar worthy movie, but it’s a fun Dreamwork’s movie.
yeah all your videos saying this movie will flop aged like milk
Well to be fair just cause I like a movie doesn’t mean it won’t flop. Look at transformers one

The movie didn’t have much advertising
