Imagine how awks it was for Geri having to learn this song.. When it's about her random departure from the biggest girl group in the world which also led to the end of the Spice Girls.
But anyway this song is what represent the most that particular time, and Geri, that time had spoken a lot about how the Spice Girls acted without her. This song is hard for Geri for sure!
The reason Emma sings a lot in this song is because she was one of the main ones to write the song. Her and Geri started it, Geri left, and they changed some things around and BAM...you got Goodbye.

She actually wrote it with Emma (for some disaster casualties) and when she left, the lyrics was reworked as a "farewell" for her. I´m glad she returned with all the others.

Also when Posh was singing at the end and pointed to Geri during the go your own way line. It brought back many memories of the late great 90's. Actually the girls have maintained since its release that "Goodbye" is not about Geri and that the group had begun work on the song before Geri's departure in '98. I think the fact that the song came out MONTHS after she left is kind of telling of that.
i know this song goodbye this was dedicated for geri haliwel when she leave the band and became solo wew what a cool return of spice girl and its all member is here especially geri wew aim high spice girls !!!!
I loved seeing geri with them whilst they were performing she wasn't actually singing tbh none of them had the best voices to be fare they were A great group

Great observations, very funny. I always feel Geri's solo shoulda been Look At Me, not It's Raining Men actually. It's a song more closely associated with her, rather than an 80s cover.
she totally was singing, you hear how she starts the line in her husky smoky voice and how she stops when she realises mel c is completely drowning her out
From a famous performer's point of view, sometimes you will see old fans who come to all your concerts over the course of your career. Every gig you do there will be the small few you recognize in the audience who are like your regulars. Everytime you see them you have resist the urge to do a cheesy smile. I guess Gerri must of recognized someone from a very long time ago.
She has the strongest voice by far and in the chorus of this song (live) she sings the two lines along with Victoria, Mel C sings the melody and Victoria makes the low harmony, obviously we hear Mel C the most. Emma and Mel B sing the other two lines in the chorus.

They were very original. The songs were not hard songs to sing but they were so addicting. And on top of that all of them are pretty 😘
