I used all your content of pre algebra and pre calculus from your web page, 10 months ago I didnt even know how to substract or add numbers, now I passed math 1, next semester I will take discrete mathematics classes, Im doing a degree on Computer Science, thanks for everything. Now Im using your web to continue preparing my self to college. Greetings from argentina.
So now I finally get to see my algebra teacher, cool. I have several of your videos in my own algebra playlist. I want to thank you for putting them on RUclips and for putting the timestamps.
I'm planning to join The Open University UK to study software engineering. your channel offers so much help to get my mathematic skills leveled up. thanks a lot.
Thanks for the donation, at some point I will make a video talking about workbooks. Personally, I like the process of using the workbook first and getting the process down, then using the textbook or video lecture.
hi John)) i so glad to see you in this format)) you are cool person, like contemporary spartan i big fan of your channel I'm adult and my major is linguistics I started with math from simple arithmetic doing math in these days is really huge privilege... it is all about time and effort
Best teacher in the world! ♥ Learning your courses on Udemy and also using as a reference the book Precalculus (2015, Cengage, J. Steward, L.Redlin, S.Watson). It is amazing! Also every chapter ends with section "Focus on Modeling" which shows how to fit lines/curves to data, regression and other awesome stuff as a quick real world example for what we just learned. Also if stuck on a problem, WolframAlfa can be helpful.
I'm on chapter 4 : linear function of the textbook. I'm trying to get at least ten chapters done by the end of the school year (or beginning of next school year). I'll try to speed run through this chapter (cause everyone knows linear stuff since middle school) and move on to advance polynomials. Uhh the textbook im using right now is algebra and trigonometry (the right fit for me between algebra and stuff before calculus)
@@Greenemath unfortunately, the only con is that there are odd answers for odd questions. However this is good, cause I'll only focus on all the odd questions instead of the evens. So it's less time consuming
Hi Mr. John I just have a simple question Are your videos and the OpenStax textbooks have the same material order? so i can watch your courses and then go on the exercises in the text book to solve more questions. And thank you for everything
If you use GreeneMath, there are practice questions and quiz questions that go with the lesson. For Pre-Algebra, the practice test questions regenerate, so you won't ever run out. For the Algebra courses, it mostly goes in the same order. PreCalculus is not in the same order because I put Trigonometry at the end and most books put it in the middle.
Openstax algebra books are nice but I very much preferred the aops books instead, they have a very thorough teaching style and made me sweat on topics I though I had mastered previously (unfortunately not free 😢)
Video lessons are great if you learn that way. A lot of people find that to be quite boring, so reading could be a better option. The main thing is that you are working lots of problems no matter the path you take. Good luck!
thank you made me master my algebra and that's a very good help for me to learn more like analytic geometry solid mensuration and trig. i wanted to do self study on calculus i am wondering if you'll teach calculus also on your youtube channel. sorry for my english
I'm hoping to start a Calculus course at some point next year. You can use KhanAcademy if you want to get started now or use the Calculus I book from OpenStax or CK-12.
hey, i wonder if you can make a video how to use openstax books to study for SAT exam in order. as an international student i have no idea which topics, units and chapters SAT cover. college board did not answer my e-mail. i want to apply for univirsity but i do not know how to study for SAT. i watch your videos for couple of months, this is my first request. i hope you can read and make a video on this matter.
There are tons of videos for SAT prep already on RUclips. Just search for what you need. You also have free practice from Khan Academy that is specifically for that. www.khanacademy.org/SAT
Hi I’m almost done with pre algebra course with self studying 5-6 hrs daily.. I’m hoping to move on into algebra 1 next week because soon I will start college algebra at school. So are you recommending me to skip algebra 2 course ? And jump into pre calculus after algebra 1. ?
A full set theory discussion is usually covered in discrete math. The basics of sets is sometimes covered in Algebra 1 or 2. You can find it in the appendix of any Algebra textbook.

If you can do you mind making a video explaining how to incorporate a work book into this? Such as Schaum’s Outlines. Thank you

Just search for what you need on RUclips, there are thousands of Calculus courses that you can start with right now.
In which section of maths u learn abt the sets? I forgot... & the notations for irrational rational... ik for one of em is Q, lol...
