- Just before the 2023 Cycling World Championships on Glasgow, I decided to cycle from Goodwood all the way up to Glasgow, ticking off all the previous World Championship locations in the UK. These are Goodwood, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds/Harrogate and Glasgow. In this short film you can see what happened over the course of the adventure.
Thanks to Shimano for funding the documentary.

A fantastic watch Chris. You and Jack should be proud of what you've produced. Interesting, informative and a showcase of what cycling history the UK has. Chapeau!
Thanks so much! I’m really proud and pleased with this one for sure!
Absolutely brilliant film,
So well put together, Netflix need to get you signed up.
Nice to have s surprise feature on one of my favourite RUclipsrs!
Much appreciated mate! Thanks for being part of it too! I still owe you that Nando’s
Really great to see the evolution of your daily vlogs couple months ago into this full-on documentary. Great stuff
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks to all concerned on this one, a lovely video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Super documentary brings back memories of the men’s race in Yorkshire standing in the poring rain😀👍
Haha yeah the weather was biblical right!?
I spent so much time in Bridgnorth and was never aware there was a Bridgnorth CC. I always learn something new from your videos. Great story, great ride, thanks to you and JB for taking us along with you
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words!
Billy’s bike shop absolutely saved me when I broke a rim doing LEJOG. Absolute legends!
It’s a fantastic shop isn’t it!?
This is one of the most humble vids to promote our sport...congrats for that. I'm itching since years to ride trough whole Britain, this Year i did Poland...nice and flat ;)
Thank you I appreciate you saying that! UK next year then?!
i followed the ride when you undertook it and this did not disappoint.
super documentary which was worth the wait.
Thanks so much!
GOAT - what a brilliant nickname to have. It has soooo many positive connotations and possibly one negative one if you are biblically inclined - but heck, even then, who wouldn't want to be called a devil on the bike.
Love the journey and the people you met on the way.
Ian is an absolute legend. One of the nicest and kindest guys I know
Chapeau Chris! What a great ride! Really great to see the whole thing and hear your vision and experience in a bit more detail. It was great to meet you too, and join you guys for the last few miles into Glasgow!
Super video by Jack too!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was fantastic to meet you too!
Chris what an awesome adventure mate and movie. Six stars.
Thanks so much
This is a really great film Chris!
Thank you! 🙏
Obviously a hell of a job _riding_ this route and undertaking this very cool and unorthodox challenge, but you & Jack also did an excellent job of filming & editing this film. Very impressive all around.
Thanks so much! I think a dream team!
So good it's 2nd time watching. Great video mate! 👌🏼
Ahh thanks so much dude
Stumbled over the live premiere tonight and so glad I did. Chris that was excellent - both in terms of effort and vlog story/shooting 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate it!
Fantastic from start to finish. Great video and great people.
Thanks so much!
@@ChrisHallRides All the time I wasted following that Cade bloke when clearly I should have stuck with you 😀
nice to see my neck of the woods 19:39 burroughs road. great vid
Thanks for watching!
45:00 He was Baaasking in the sunshine ;)
Epic watch bud.
Loved the "nothing to prove" bit. I also figured that out the past couple of years. In the end, most of us ride bikes to have fun... and if a ride is no fun, then there's no sense in forcing yourself to ride on.
I made it up to ~42:00, and get to watch the rest tonight :)
Thanks for watching mate and exactly. It takes time to figure that bit out for sure
Superb chris,
So many cool people you met along the way, those two pros at the end are seem so down to earth, question is what did they order 😂
That was fantastic!!!!
What a beautiful piece of art you have made and thankyou for sharing the journey!
Awesome work guys!
Our pleasure!
This was really cool enjoyed it - thanks Chris!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really good. Well done Chris.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful and inspiring content.
Thank you kindly!
Amazing film Chris great work from jack too 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a ton!
Such an epic film Chris and the team ❤
Thanks so much!
The climb at 35 mins - am thinking was beyond Hawes, Buttertubs. In May during All Points North I had the pleasure of seeing the sunrise over the hills as I rode down to Dales Bike centre; only then to return climb up it again! I've probably ridden most of those roads in the Dales, but to join them together is always a different experience. Loved the video from beginning to end, thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching!
Blooming good film Chris, mega effort as always, and nicely put together Jack. Your right there is some great riding to be had in the UK👏👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, absolutely creased at Josh bucking it to catch up 😂
He’s a legend
Aww Archie 💜
What a hero

Very much enjoyed watching this. It's was also good that you encouraged people to holiday in the UK. So many fly abroad, with all the environmental damage that causes. I have been visiting various UK areas for cycling holidays over the last few years. Getting there by riding or taking the train. Much of Europe is also accessible by train. To celebrate my 60th I'm planning a trip to Girona. The surprising thing is that the journey doesn't take much longer by train, especially when you factor in having to get to the airport so much ahead of the flight.
That sounds like a fantastic plan for your 60th!
Greetings from Thailand. Great video and incredible scenery. Enjoy, and stay safe.
Thanks so much for watching!
Holy crap...1982, I was in high school then, riding a Nishiki road bike at the time--my first bike purchase, all my own--around the SF Bay Area (haha he's not just old, he's "experienced").
That’s not old at all mate!
That was awesome mate, looked an epic journey. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was great. A beautiful film. Looks like such a wonderful series of rides with good mates.
Yeah it was fantastic. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful edit, great flash back to the original series, but so comforting to see it pieced together, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Keep up the great work Chris! I'm really enjoying your honest commentary on your riding journey- very inspiring stuff!
Thanks so much I appreciate it
Top stuff! I loved this film. I did LEJOG this summer with mates and we had no real idea that the UK was so breathtakingly beautiful, so varied, so flippin' wonderful! We live in Northumberland which is all hills and I can vouch for the madness of young Josh as I have seen him hyperventilating hill climb racing up Prospect Hill.
LEJOG is a fantastic ride too. Kudos on that! We are incredibly lucky
watched this through suggested feed and thoroughly enjoyed it, fantastically documented and well filmed and edited! and of course great riding... keep it up :)
Welcome aboard and thanks so much for watching. There’s several films from big challenges on the channel, I hope you’ll have a watch!
Great film and an awesome tour. Couldn't agree more about the cycling in the UK though it would be amazing to have just a little bit more infrastructure that joined it all up
Completely agree the infrastructure is the one thing that lets it down
Great video Chris! It’s funny been lucky to call Switzerland my home for the last 13years but still miss the UK bike culture. I often get asked why we produce such great riders ie downhill, enduro,cx, road, track it’s the passion and the love. When living back in the UK I could race every weekend whether it was cross country, cyclocross etc. I was lucky to do the Fred Whitton this year. I don’t normally get emotional about riding but being surrounded by like minded it was quite overwhelming.
I can completely understand that. We are very lucky aren’t we?
Enjoyed that. Thanks.
Thanks so much!
wow that was a really good video thank you👍
Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing the journey again Chris, loved the series and loved this video. Sorry once again that the east lancs gave you so much trouble😂
😂 it’s all good! Thanks for watching!
Sean Kelly impression - LOL.
😂
Amazing content as always Sir.
Much appreciated!
Really good watch chris
Keep up the good work 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Been waiting for this one 🙌
Hope you enjoy it!!
Fantastic video Chris! That day of punctures looked soul destroying 🤣
Tell me about it
Brilliant 👌
Thank you!
Inspirational, and a truly monumental effort, but it feels a bit legendary from my point of view. 2600m climb in one 170 odd km day would be about 6 times the climb and 4 times the distance of my biggest ever ride, and that was just one day out of a huge ride. It's a little other-worldly to imagine the sort of pure determination and physical fitness required to accomplish such a thing. Bloody good ride! Bloody good people!
Thanks so much I appreciate it.
Cool AF thanks Chris
Thank you
Really nice vid!
Thanks for watching!
Bravo sir.
🙌
Great Video ❤😊
Thanks 😁
"Just need to get some essentials in" 🐍😂 11:43
The best hahaha
The overall commitment to just "ride" is fabulous. Inspirational as much as infuriating when you go weight weenie mode. Makes my pockets lighter, boy.
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Come cycle in Japan. I think you'd enjoy it. I'm doing a slow lap of the island of Shikoku to visit 88 temples in March. 1,200 km, 20,000m over about 10 days. You are more than welcome. :)
Sounds great! I’ve always wanted to visit Japan. I’ve got a uni mate who lives there
You will get more punctures just after it has rained because thorns, glass and sharp stones have moved...
Yep exactly that

Hi sir how are you
"some of the best riding in the world on your doorstep".....also gets 5 punctures in one day near Manchester. UK roads are too narrow and the weather too wet to call it the best riding in the world- Spain, France and mountainous areas of US are superior.
Have you ever cycled in the UK?
@@ChrisHallRides I live in Cheshire and ride up to 500km locally every week and unfortunately he is right. This year we pretty much had no summer and now I am just stuck in the town as all roads in the countryside are locally flooded or turned into brooks after 3 weeks of daily rain :(. And the UK has probably the most cyclist hostile motoring culture in the whole of Europe, with custodial sentences for killing a cyclist less than 2 years...
Why cyclist always trying to tell everybody that they are strongest human in the world 😂
Why
