My wife and I were in Sapporo during the January earthquake, a surreal experience made more intense by the heavy snowfall. A week later, we felt aftershocks in Kanazawa and Kurobe Onsen.
It's a beautiful city in winter. Also easier for those folks that struggle with the summer heat. Every time I visit Tokyo I always visit Tokyo Tower, it has a special place in my heart.
Tokyo in Winter is wonderful. The illuminations are so nice to see. It's already nice and cool here. It's very welcome considering how hot this past summer was.
A lot of useful information for the winter traveler. And we really enjoyed your visit to Tokyo Tower! Wonderful views and great views of the illuminated tower.
Thank you so much for your super support Kevin san and Dale san! I really apprecaie it. I'm glad I could show you the new tour of Tokyo Tower. Haven't been there for a long time but it's always a special place for Tokyo. I hope everyone has a fantastic trip this Winter. ⛄️✨ Thank you again.
Thank you for watching Ryuga san! Tokyo Tower is very special. I'm glad you liked it. It's not the talledst one, but I'm glad they are doing well as obervatory. :) 🗼
I really like the tipps about keeping warm in winter (eating winter food, relaxing in onsen etc.). What I also find great ;-): many toilets have a heated toilet seat. So if you for example go to a small restaurant whilst visiting Tsukiji market, you can "warm up" on the toilet ;-).
Thank you Kenchan. Lots of great information in this video 👍 By the way, I liked the transition from a photo of Tokyo Tower on your phone to actual Tokyo Tower (9:33) 📱🗼
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found the video informative. Haha, I'm glad the transition worked. I need a little more practice. Thank you for noticing it. :)
Just bought my ticket today, I’ll be spending my 30th birthday in Tokyo from late January to early February. I’m really looking forward to it! Thanks for the video.
omg thank u so much for the tokyo tower and super mario illumination marunoichi update!!! ill be coming in november and im looking for more things to see/go but with less tourist/crowd people... hopefully tokyo tower wont be as crowded as shibuya sky or skytree haha
Thank you for watching! I went Tokyo Tower at the last slot at 22:00 so there weren't anybody when I leave. But the view might be a little nicer on weekday twilight time. Have a great trip. :)
@@tokyokenchan hello thank you so much for replying with the exact time slot for tokyo tower! i am still considering to visit either tokyo tower, shibuya sky or tokyo sky tree (mostly because of bundle price with sumida aquarium). But i have been to both shibuya sky and tokyo sky tree last year! i havent been tokyo tower since forever ago so curious about the changes!
Great video Kenchan, we have to agree with you Winter is a great time to visit Japan. We were there in December last year and it was excellent, especially if you dont mind a bit of colder weather.
Thanks a lot Kengo for all the great information ! I was planning to stay in a ryokan in Ginzan Onsen in March 2025, but after seeing in several videos how crowded it gets, I decided to stay somewhere else (in a wonderful looking ryokan in Niigata prefecture, in the "snow country"). After seeing the restrictions that you mention at the end of this video, I am glad that I decided that way.
Thank you for watching. I checked the hotel in Ginzan Onsen but there was no way to get a room during snow season. I think Niigata is also a great place to enjoy the exact snow country after tunnel. It's great you are coming back here again in March. :)
Nice video Kengo san! It makes me think that winter is probably my fave season to visit again there (even though its very cold). Thank you for sharing helpful winter tips to us. Also, I just love your tour at Tokyo Tower 👍
Thank you, Kengo-san. I will be visiting Japan once again in January 2025 so your winter tips are going to be a huge help! P.S My dog just passed away and I also want to say that I hope you and Kenny will be together for a long time.
Oh no JM san. I'm very sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how difficult time it is for you right now. It might be difficult or almost impossible, but I hope you feel better by the time you visit Japan. Thank you for your kind word to me and Kenny.
Hi Kenchan, thank you for the video! 🤩I'm coming to Japan on the last week of january next year for 10 days. I'm going to Shin Hotaka ropeway & enjoy the onsen, then Shizuoka for snowy Mount Fuji and will end the trip in the warmer beach Atami area to find the earliest sakura (got all my reservations ready). Do you think I'll find some good plum blossom/sakura at that time? I'm worried because the autumn is late as well 😥
Hi. Thank you for watching! Sounds great you are going to Shin Hotaka ropeway. The end of January might be a little early for Kawazu cherry blossom, but probably you see plum trees. 👍🌸 :)
Thanks for clearing that rain away for us Kenchan 😉. We went for a walk yesterday morning towards Tama River in Kawasaki and came back with soaking wet clothes. The umbrella's were useless 😂. Sunny days ahead now.
Welcome back to Japan and thank you for your super support!! Did it rain that mu ch there?! The temperature dropped from yesterday so please stay warm. Yes! It's been gray recently but it seems like the sun is coming back from tomorrow. 🌞 I wish you have the best time in Japan! Thank you again. :)
It rained most of the day until the afternoon. Also there were wind gusts which made the rain feel worse. Spent the morning at Yokohama and visited Tokyo Tower in the afternoon.
Thank you so much for watching Edna san. Yes! It's reaching 30k hopefully in a month or so. I appreciate you notice that. It's been two years since you found my channel I think. 😊
Hello, Kengo san. Winter season is coming right, but first, its Halloween 🎃... Have you already seen Sadako 😁 The Ringu, i remember telling you this last year and what i got from you is a big NO 👻
Hello, thanks so much for the time you put into your videos. This December through January I'll be for my 3rd time in Japan, do you think Kyoto will be too busy from the 3rd to the 6th of January? Thanks a lot.
Hello Steven san. Last year, it was the snow fall of November 30 that didn't melt until the next Spring. So it's a little early, but there is a high chance that you can see snow. :)
@@tokyokenchan I watched your video already, appreciate your effort, but I want to book an express pass and the website of USJ is not user friendly, I watched few bloggers complaining about it too…

Thanks. In less than 50 days now, I will be finally putting a few years worth of your tips in practice!
That's really great to hear! I wish you the best trip in Japan. :) Thank you so much for your message.
Im visiting for the month of January and will be doing some skiing. So excited.
