Lyrics
We've taken too much for granted
And all the time it had grown
From techno seeds we first planted
Evolved a mind of its own
Marching in the streets
Dragging iron feet
Laser beaming hearts
Ripping men apart
From off I've seen my perfection
Where we could do as we please
In secrecy this infection
Was spreading like a disease
Hiding underground
Knowing we'd be found
Fearing for our lives
Reaped by robot's scythes
Metal Gods
Metal Gods
Metal Gods
Metal Gods
Machines are taking all over
With mankind in their command
In time they'd like to discover
How they can make their demand
Better be the slaves
To their wicked ways
But meeting with our death
Engulfed in molten breath
42 years later and still a great song today!
I can say the same thing I was 10 years old when this album came out. and was always hanging out with my uncle and since I can remember I grew up With Rock n roll , reggae, metal and punk rock, my uncle passed away this sure bring back good memories...
@@whojahbless1560 Sounds like your uncle had great taste in music. I think this album was the true birth of Heavy Metal. From heavy blues of Sabbath and hard rock of Zeppelin to Mershall stacks , denim and leather, screaming vocals and Attitude all came together on this album in 1980!
lyrics are as relevant as ever too loooool
I was reading an interview with Ozzy Osbourne the other day and he agrees, this is my first time listening and you know what? I think Ozzy is on to something this is banging.

Wow! So you still enjoy metal?

1980 just punched me square in the face. Thank you for bringing me back to my room as a 15 year old dropping this on the turntable for the first time the day it came out. \m/
Music back then was something never to happen again. Vinyl certainly sounded better than anything. Blessed to be born in 1964. Right in time for the rise of ROCK !!! and the little bit of time disco was loved or hated. You were looked as a trator if you were caught listening to disco . Ah those were the greatest years ever !!
I'm 60 an I still turn this shit up..hell yeah

Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry from 2018 to 2021, Dr. Robert Redfield states: *"There's no doubt that NIH funded gain-of-function research."*

La banda mas grande del Heavy Metal!!! Judas por siempre ❤
Best way to start the 80's, magnificent album, thanks Priest for releasing this videos on this trying times!
British Steel and Back in Black: 1980 releases that becames two of the best albums released during the entire decade.

April 2024
I'm 64 and still rock to The Mighty Priest!
why does no one i know love this song as much as me... that riff
Obviously they lack your excellent taste.
I do
This has got to be one of the best metal songs EVER!! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
This album and this song was what made me a 15 year old boy become a JudasPriest Fan,🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I've got this album and many other Priest albums on cassette , if only I'd bought them on vinyl back in the day , maybe cassettes are more rare nowadays but they'll never match vinyl 🤘
I spin "Screaming for Vengeance", "Defenders of the Faith", and "Ram It Down" about once a week each on my turntable still.
Plus the album artwork is outstanding on the JP lineup
Keep your cassettes. With all the remastering going on they are just like vinyl for original sound.
Sounds like you are trying to make a sell
I’ve recently acquired sad wings and stupidly passed a chance to get an old copy of British steel at my local record store.
In 1980 my big brothers were listening to Nugent , Aerosmith, KISS , etc and i loved em all ,but I wanted my own sound. Went to a friend of a friends house in the big city , Tulsa , and heard this for the first time. HOLY SHT !!! Went to Starship recordc the next day and got the tape. Stayed in the player all summer long. I found my sound !!!
They should make a livestream to the people on the quarantine
I'll really apreciate that!
That would be awesome if quarantine band live streams started becoming a trend, Clutch just did that yesterday and everyone loved it
Judas = amor eterno
Deuses do metal 🖤🤘
I would have loved to be born in the 70s just to see them live..
I was in the fifth grade in 1975 and got to see Priest and Kiss together in Evansville, Indiana. It was an honor and memory that has lasted me a lifetime. Seen Priest 40 years later in 2015 and they still rule!
Ray Purdue I hope another band of this kind will exist while I’m still young
Twice! Both times at Veterans Memorial Colosseum in Phoenix Arizona. Good times!
They still play live. They had a tour planned for 2020 but that was canceled for obvious reasons.
me too man 🤘
A song about the Military Industrial Complex.
Everyone who is nostalgic for them in the 80’s please put “metal parking lot” into your search engine. It will take you back to Priest in the mid 80’s. It’s super cool to watch!
Still love that sound of the knives and forks at the end being banged.
Some how I correctly guessed that's what it was when I first heard it😅
You've just uploaded the song and here we are dude a lot people sharing the same feeling 🤘🏼 Best wishes from Mexico
Yes priest rules
British Steel needs to be part of the Congress library.
I remember Getting this LP in High school. I wasn't happy and heard before hand from a friend that Les Binks was no longer with the group. Then I heard Dave Holland's playing and drum sound. I was absolutely floored. Great drum sound and drumming. Great feel and groove to his playing. He was and is still my favorite Priest Drummer. RIP...Scott Travis does an insane job though. Cheers to him.
Wow that's awesome. I got 1996-99 music for hs so no complaints -- tiny music, super unknown etc -- but your description of the drummer situation perspective was enlightening. Never cared to listen to any but Dave drumming. I mean I do cuz it's priest I'm gonna listen to all of it but holmes is their drummer and Scott was his replacement and they both dominate equally but your story was very interesting about being bummed binks was done. I guess the moral of the story is ever me mber of priest is amazing ha

OMG!!❤❤❤❤ so true!!!
So far it remains true. This might never come around again.
Okay grandpa. There is a lot of good modern bands, maybe you just haven't found them yet
In your mind . You can put a gold star on garbage but in the end it's still garbage.
@@markr.devereux3385 how poetic. Music is subjective anyways, "one man's trash is another's treasure" as they say, so i can't hate what you like and not. But to say today's music isn't as good? That's just not correct.
The main theme lately with chatGPT, stable diffusion dall e ai art and all.
Why does everyone cut down Dave Holland He's solid keeps great time and adds the syncopated drum fill in here and there and has a great snare and tom sound FU all
I gave you a thumbs up so don't include me in the FU all. He he. Thx Emanuele. Rock on!
Hell yeah. Dave Holland is a CLASSIC hard rock/heavy metal drummer. Vinnie Appice did *this* kind of drumming for Dio for a long ass time to great results, and people didn't seem to complain. Most people now days think of Painkiller, and Scott Travis's flashy playing first I guess. The hi-hat work on this track rules. There's swagger to Holland's playing, for sure.
He's the only drummer I've seen that holds the sticks above his head if a song doesn't require drums right away...other drummers are drinking fluids and stretching during the short break in their gig. This guy is a beast! He did this on purpose basically calling other drummers pussys
he's not just solid, he's a fucking anchor. Dave Holland is one of the best and heaviest O.G. metal drummers in the world. he's unsung, but he's better than most. check out 'The Sinner' from the '88 tour. one of the baddest-ass metal drum performances ever. fuck the naysayers, Dave Holland fucking rules.

I've never heard nobody do that 😳
Sounds great. What a band.
Do you want to know about that music called "heavy metal"?
Listen British Steel
Judas !!! Judas !!! Judas !!! Priest For Life !!! Salud y Vida Pa'lante !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
When You listen to this song, inmediately enter to a Cyborg's world. The effects of the sounds, for that time were as a futuristic trip. Close your eyes and hear the theme, imagine: a robot marching to war after an "Armageddon". Judas Priest forever. Sorry for my English.

Couldn't agree more.
It's actually about the world as it is today
Wow this new band is unreal..

❤️ Mozart & Judas Priest only. 😎
Recorded at Tittenhurst, where John Lennon lived with Yoko. Owned by Ringo at the time.
The best metal song of all time!!
3:11 a.m. in New York and listening to Metal Gods! Unlike KISS, ALL of Judas Priest music is never dated!
I used to love KISS when I was a preteen, but when I started high school, I began to grow out of them. When the NWBHM arrived in America, I became a huge fan of bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, Motörhead. I also got into AC/DC and so.e of the classic British bands of the 60's and 70's such as Led Zeppelin, The Who Pink Floyd, and Black Sabbath.
Leave KISS alone they’re the greatest band in KISStory
@@gregbors8364 Kiss' music is dated! Der Leppard is the best band!
I totally disagree on KISS sounding dated. Zeppelin definitely sounds dated!!
Way to go Greg! Def Leppard IS the best band ever! They just have an awesomly unique sound that just cannot be duplicated or bested! I garandamntee that more people would attend a Def Leppard concert than a dated kiss concert.
It's so cool to hear what Ringo Starr's knives and forks sound like
It's weird they sound like marching soldiers! That was a great interview with some of the band members
This is a really cool fact
