Lyrics
Pounding the world like a battering ram
Forging the furnace for the final grand slam
Chopping away at the source soon the course will be done
Leaving a trail of destruction that's second to none
Hammering anvils straining muscle and might
Shattering blows crashing browbeating fright
Fast devastating and desolating the curse
Blasting the cannons of truth through each man of this earth
Wielding the axe comes the one culmination
That's always seemed certain to bring down the curtain on greed
Sifting the good from the bad it's the age for the rage
Of the dogs which must fall to the just and be free
Now grate for the vandals who trampled and sampled
Till this place conditioned brought forth demolition to war
The slipping and sliding corrosive subsiding
That withered and waned till the world seemed all drained fills the bay
Pounding the world like a battering ram
Forging the furnace for the final grand slam
Chopping away at the source soon the course will be done
Leaving a trail of destruction that's second to none

I dont remember how many times my mom used to scream through my door "turn this noise down now !!!!!" in the year of 1980 -)
Sounds like you were doing it right
Jajaja a mi también me pasó
Noise????? Come on mom!
Mom, it's not a phase. It's my life.
Lol. X2
I wasn't raised on this, but have heard about them. My ex husband waited 40 years for Judas Priest to be close enough to go to a concert. He and my daughter were so excited for the concert tonight in Huntsville, AL and talked about it for months. 6 days ago I had to shatter her world and break the news her dad passed away in his sleep. She went tonight and was noticed by the band and had a pick tossed to her, I'm so happy she got her sign that her dad was with her ❤
That's sad 😥
Believe! If your gut tells you it's a sign, it's probably a sign
I'm 31, and I'm really glad my parents and uncles all played Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath etc when I was a kid. I cant imagine a life without this music.
It ain't no life
You're to young for this music sorry
me neither
Tune in to some Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nazareth, UFO

Media 1980: "Metal is bound to fail"
Priest: "Hold my beer..."
People said to me in the 80's that listening to metal was just a phase, then I would grow up.
Seems that I'm still waiting to grow up! Shit...
Damn Rights!
@@HolyMuscleOfLove Same lol 😂
Haha! No shit! Priest rules!
Got that 100%, you nailed it!! April 14, 1980 British Steel revolutionized Heavy Metal, spear headed Heavy Metal's rule of the world!
The drums are furiously insane.
This particular one was so ahead of its times. Literally it has just forged the brutal genres in metal music.
You said it😁💥💥💥💥💥👍
Def a keeper.
Accept, Motorhead, Anvil, Iron Maiden and Judas Piece really paved the way for Speed Metal.
Its off its head, and still, rarely is this kinda pump delivered, yet even understood...almost perfect extreme Metal...crazy huh...but on Killing Machine, there is even more shit in parts that is still unsurpassed.
True a pioneer of thrash
British Steel, the true masterpiece.
Hell Yeah!Metal Anthems!!
Point Of Entry is their best album!
No.
This song is so sick. The bridge is a great example of proto-thrash and even elements of extreme metal are included. Judas Priest was way ahead of their time.
Yes, they were, that´s for sure!
And the seeds of thrash are sown!
Thank you o mighty Priest
Damn right! Add in the speed and intensity from Motorhead, Tank, Venom and Raven, add it to the tehcnical melodic double guitar riffing of Maiden and jPriest and add the heaviness and grit of Blitzkrieg and Venom, not to mention the double bass of jPriest, Motorhead and Venom and boom Speed metal evolves into Thrash, then Black into Thrash
@@lightray9573 Dont forget Accept who even did it in the 70s
@@DarkturtleX To be fair, Priest also did thrash in the 70's with tracks like Dissonant Aggressor, Call for the Priest, and Exciter
This is pure metal, not thrash! Thrash is crap, this is real heavy metal!
Amen to that!!!!
The Metal Gods!! This album is a KILLER!!! I wore the grooves out on this one!!! This was the best Priest Lineup so far!! Scott Travis era Priest stands on it's own,but this Incarnation informed all the others!! Dave Holland was such a Badass Drummer!
This song is second to none.
I had a dream the other night that I finally met Rob. I thank him for being one of heroes. I love Judas Priest.
After all these years, I still can’t believe how heavy this song is for the time. Definitely my favourite from this album.
Rapid Fire over Breaking the law🤘🤘 Love the whole album but Rapid Fire is the stand out track for me🤘
Come on man you Cant forget about “Steeler”
i think this is their best album
The 80s started soooo good
Indeed🤘🤘🤘
And then glam rock came along and shit all over real metal.
@@hinjurock Thrash crushed and outlived it
The true speed metal
This helps so much during this era of covid-19. Judas priest are using their "Firepower" from brittish steel at "rapid fire" to our ears to bring hope to us all. Long live the kings
*Long live the Gods
Covid is a scam... btw
The drums!! Perfect sound! The whole album. I Love it!! Forever!
Yes, for me that was the album were it all came together. Best drum sound and guitar sound....
RIP DAVE HOLLAND❤👏👏👏
My favorite Priest song!!! It has everything I love about metal: low power chords and ripping solos, a heavy bass line, Dave Holland's powerful drum sound, including some double kick in the middle, and of course the Metal God himself holding out that screamer at the end!!!
@@davebrooker4837 Uh no
They played this at the beggining of the set in the Epitaph tour and was amazing!!!
Great opening.....Epic.
And 30th British steel
Mental vortex a masterpiece
The twin lead solo is crazy in this song, like KK and Glen are in a gunfight in the middle of the street with their guitars!
Hell yes!!!
this is one of the best songs , in the World.
I was raised on Priest , 56 now and nothing gets me more alive than it
The BEST. JUDAS PRIEST FOREVER
This song and Ace of Spades of Motorhead pillars of speed metal sound, and proto thrash way.
Masterpiece, one of the many more of JP
Seriously underrated song. Good job Judas Priest.
The Band.. The Myth.. The Legend.. Judas Priest The Metal God..
Best heavy metal band ever! Long live metal gods!
Turn it up Son! It shakes the dust off the walls.
Agreed
This album is just fire
Leaving a trail of destruction that second to none long live Judas Priest
First ever priest song i ever heard, still my favorite one
A favorite lullaby of mine for the times I find myself restless and cannot sleep!
Can clearly tell British Steel (and especially this track in particular) were a massive influence on the early-80s thrash metal scene. Metallica HAD to have been ripping this track a lot when writing Kill 'Em All.
Saw Priest just last week, and they still got it after all these years. Was an unbelievable performance! Hail the Metal God! 🙌🔥🇬🇧
They'd actually played it with Rob before, and now Lux Aeterna has a lot of influence from this track.
And Dave Lombardo praises this exact track in one of the videos here on RUclips. Dave Lombardo-The art of drumming
@@obnoxiouscriticagainstthef6582 SLAYER 🤘
absolutely. There would have been no Motörhead ace of Spades if Rapid Fire hadn't already been released six months earlier
British Steel! Could be the best album, but ALL Judas albums are the best... Thank you for Metal!
Not the biggest priest but that doesn't lessen the fact that it's a classic
It's a great album.
But nothing beats "Stained Class".
Not only Priest's best album. Probably Heavy Metal's best.
The best is screaming for vengeance
@@lonestar6709 YES! Stained Class all the way!
oh yes! first priest song i heard and i was hooked! two lead guitars! Maiden couldnt even hold a candle to this!
We want video clip like the old days

Judas Priest - Rocks !
An old school heavy metal marvel 💿💖🔥👌🏻
ruclips.net/video/bum0ORFVNkw/видео.html absolutely 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻stumbled upon this interesting character who dissects and reacts to great music!
Fantastic friend, more classic heavy metal oh yeah 💿✌😌
When I was in the army In Germany I blasted this on my sansui xj 990s 300 hundred watts with my pioneer equalizer and the CQ across the street could hear this inside his bldg. Banged on my door if you can't turn this down you'll be seeing the CO Rock hard ride free Priest 11111####
Judas Priest had this drummer for a while. I think that this drummer worked perfectly with the bands formula. The drums shift gears without overdoing the double bass drums. The cymbal work is amazing. Halford, Tipton, Downing and don't forget Ian!!
This band has definitely evolved into the modern day - Monsters of rock ! Thanks for setting the bar out of reach. There's many who've tried etc.... Salute !!!!!
Not for a while though, Dave was rocking with them during their most successful and fruitful decade
@@tobyalder42along with his sideline in kiddie fiddling
@@SevenOfNine-7 bullshit, that episode happened long after the Judas Priest tenure, and the victim wasn't a child
I remember grabbing this record when it first came out, scared my parents , and scared the neighbours, lolol they though I was insane LOLOL I cranked it so loud the windows shook in the flat lol great memories ,
Classic and pure BRILLIANCE. Thank you JP.
JUDAS PRIEST POR SIEMPRE,EL MEJOR DISCO DE HEVY METAL
kicking asses since 70's
This is my favorite song on British Steel! I thought this song cant be out done! Then Priest released Point of Entry the following year! Desert Plains! Nothing but love ❤️ this song kicks ass!
This stuff really needs more support ,! Judaz priest better that new stuff ,!!
Great opener! Forging the furnace for the final grand slam!
One of my favorite Judas Priest tracks. Amazing
Aaah i Priest! E la voce di Halford ! Abbiamo aspettato l'88 in Italia x vederli in concerto, è stata un'emozione indescrivibile!!🤟🤟🎸
This one is fantastic! A great start to a legendary album!
Proto-thrash! ❤️
Best Album!!!!!!!!!! Forever JUDAS PRIEST STEEL👍💕💕💕
BRASIL, METAL, IS THE LAW.
@1:50 "Wielding the axe ... " - perhaps the greatest, most kick ass moment in metal history
1990 🇧🇷🇧🇷 tinha 17 anos fui no no rock in Rio realizado no Maracanã 🤘🤘 esses senhores ingleses para minha sorte estavam presente!!!! Foi FODA!!!!
I know I'm in the minority and I'm not looking for an argument, but as the years have rolled by Rapid Fire has become my favourite track from British Steel. I wish they'd not only played it every night but opened the show with it. There, I have spoken.
40 years..excellent album
Pure metal spirit!!!
Judas Priest, simplesmente a melhor banda do universo. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Verdade. S.P
For me is Sin After Sin and Defenders Of the Faith the best Priest Albums.
But...all Priest Albums are 10/10 for me.
Yuuuuup. Both are in my top 5
1. Defenders
2. Painkiller
3. Sad Wings
4. Sin After Sin
5. Firepower
1. Defenders
2. Sin after Sin
3. Points of Entry
4. Sad Wings
5. Screaming for Vengeance
No Stained Class or Painkiller?
Right you are sir!, sin after sin is one of if not my favorite priest album, they do no wrong.
Unleashed in the east is great!, diamonds and rust, the ripper and it being recorded in Japan, the crowd not making a sound till the song is over kind of strange for a live album but quality of the recording and raw power of the band is fantastic. Halfords voice almost supernatural.
This song is metal perfection, even if I didn't realize it at precisely the time I first heard it.
how good is this. they were so good.
sweet mother of metal!
There's just no words !
El primer álbum que conocí y escuché de Judas Priest en octubre de 1980 era un LP de un compañero de colegio, desde ahí es mi banda de heavy metal favorita... los "metal gods"
Holland Kicks Arse on Drums.. England Metal like no other !
The drums sounded stellar on this album. Bonham would approve
@@roadkillromeoband Holland has such cool metal tap drum swing !
This is so Metal👊🏻
This song set the template for thrash metal. Sure, Motorhead had songs with fast double bass drumming prior to this, but the vocals, guitar riffs and solos on this song are far heavier and more aggressive than anything that Motorhead or any other hard rock/metal band had released at the time.
If you play this at 1.25 it's sound like UK 82- The Exploited
@Karl Lykos
Dave Holland was a great drummer - RIP.
Rainbow and UFO had double bass too
Rapid fire wasn't the first Priest track like that
Call for the Priest , Exciter ..
That was before overkill , and that was faster than overkill .
The difference is Rapid fire have a more street gritt to it that, predating hardcore attitude ( and the fact UK 82 by Exploited ripped off the riff is certainly not an accident ) .
The more midlands percussive double kick sound Dave bring from his trapeze days ( Keepin time ) and the vocal phrasing and grunt already announce Venom and Slayer
The Hammer and drumming on the song Iron Maiden is a serious contender though
Fucking sickest song you guys ever did !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 25 years old, You and Maiden are my favourite bands ever
Man that scream at the end is the shit
Incredible song!
One of their best songs.
Their best imo 💯🤘
Judas Priest! Heavy Metal Masters! NEED I SAY MORE???
Awesome riff, great singing by Halford and rip rawing guitar thrashing in the middle.
one of my favorite album cover arts

UM DOS *MAIORES* CLÁSSICOS DO HEAVY METAL. LONGA VIDA AO METAL.brasil
IMO, Priests best album 🤘🏼
The effects look amazing!!!
Fantastic Album, I still love listening to it.
Vynikající styl i super projev....
AWESOME
Can't understand why they never played this one live in the 80s.
Bands tend to play songs at the beginning of the tour, then for some reason after a few shows they stop playing them, Rapid Fire is a great song, and not to hard to sing, specially for Halford in 1980, maybe they played the song, who knows !!!!!!
Are you serious? The drummer would have been dead within a week!
I'm so glad High on Fire covered this
Welding, grinding, plasma cutting, fusing and filing, my favorite music when metal working.
Excellent track love it. ❤🔥🤘😎🤘
I still remember buying this when it first came out in April 1980. They'd already toured the UK in March and only played Living After Midnight and Breaking The Law so when I heard the intro to Rapid Fire it was like a kick in the stones. Still a song I can't play without turning it up to 11.
I have always absolutely loved this song. Awesome
@Judas Priest
Yeaaaaaaaa! The BEST Heavy Metal! 🤘😎🤘
