The fact that someone made a rap song about you doing sound tests and in itself is suitable for a sound test is both hysterical and impressive.

Watching this video on my 40w Tronsmart element force+ :) i bought it mainly to use it in my forklift at work but i use it in the kitchen too, even when i sleep. the clarity and bass is insane on it. $50 well spent :D

Yesterday, I got a Charge 5 after wanting it for a long time (thanks to your review), and man, this thing is a beast. Clean sound + very deep bass is an absolute joy to have (I get goosebumps when I hear how it sounds). Plus, I tested it watching this video with your sound test song, and as always, it sounds incredible.

i hate the charge 5 it has no aux input and has only 10 watts tweeter upgrade and the charge 4 has more deeper bass
Just ordered one up off this review. Love to see an update on the new software updates they received and now have an adjustable eq. Just from reviews online I hear it improved the quality a lot. I think it was 0.8.2 being the newest version.

Thanks for including the Charge 3 in the comparison. While the C5 does sound better, the difference isn't enough for me to upgrade both of my C3 speakers.

I read on WhatHIFI’s review that the tweeter can be a little sharp at first but when the speaker is run in it sounds smoother which is good because I really hate sharp sounding speakers & headphones.

2:43 Correction : For the JBL Charge 3 the charging brick was included (at least here in Austria), along with 3 different sliding adapters, in case u travel abroad for all kinds of wall plug ins.

The clarity and richness of the mids & highs on the 5 is shocking. It sounds amazing even through my TV sound system (which is JBL).

The OG charge from 2013.
Yeah. That original went loud and had a very clear sound with the vocals and treble. The charge 2 added bass, but also distorted and left out some mids, which the charge 3 (now charge essential) fixed but still kept the bass which I liked for the time. The charge 4 was not too much better. It had more bass, but left out some treble and stereo sound. The new charge 5 is probably the best, except for being mono and lacking an aux jack. It is the loudest and clearest yet, (even more than the OG charge) while still retaining the powerful charge 4 bass.

Came back to this video to say that the JBL Charge Essential is now $149.99 at Sam's club which I think is WAY too much for cheaper copy of the charge 3, especially for 2024. Another thing about the charge essential is that they are all GG models(ch3 would also have TL option), which for the charge 3 can have battery issues/failure and the Tensil leads on the drivers come loose making the audio sound terrible.I have a charge 3 and I can verify this since I purchased a used one manufactured in September 2017 and I immediately had to buy a new battery. I assume it would be the same for the essential. This issue only really happens with extreme bass, constant use, and general age so for most cases it can be disregarded.

The only disappointing part of the jbl5 is that it does not use the same party thing I have the charge 4 and would love to use the 4 and 5 at the same time.
IPX7 means water resistant only, not dust...the first digit is for dust the second is for water, when there's an X the resistance doesnt apply.

I recently got a JBL charge 5 & Extreme 3 so they can work together in STEREO using Party Boost. Un-like the Charge 4 series with Connect+, the Party Boost stays connected long after you close the app and remembers how you set it up.

I have the Charge 3 and decided to skip the 4, to me it wasn't a big sound difference as the 2 was from to the 3. Anyway, when I saw the Charge Essential, I paused the video and went into my travel bag and grabbed the Charge 3 (also the charge 3 came with a charging brick) but after resuming the video, you compared the Charge 3 to the Charge Essential which to me it just looks like a rebranding. I'm okay with the Charge 3 for a hotel room but in the jacuzzi area, the sound wasn't loud enough. So maybe I'll pick up the Charge 5.
For anybody wondering, the passive radiators look differnt in person, due to the way the frame rate works. Not saying it looks better or worse, just differnt. Best you head to a best buy and check it out for yourself

Could you make a review about the Samsung A52/A72?
I'm still using my Charge 3 lol. I have no plans on upgrading. JBL set the bar pretty high with the Charge 3 and then lowered it with the Charge 4. The Charge 5 seems pretty good though. What I hate though is the fact that JBL keeps changing the connect feature. You're basically forced to buy new speakers just about every generation. So I'll stick with what I have.

If the IP rating says "IPX7" or "IPX8" means that dust resistance wasn't tested, as the numbers in the IP rating are, in order, dust resistance and water resistance.
So, IP67 and IPX7, as well as IP68 and IPX8 are the same in terms of water resistance.

The Charge Essential is Charge 3, when Charge 4 hit the market Costco sells the essential a lot Cheaper the rumor at first its Charge 4 with less features but when my friend removed the cover grill it has 2 speakers exactly look like the charge 3 because Charge 4 has one mono bigger rectangular speaker. Charge 4 sounds better though its mono. But it works TWS very well with my JBL Xtreme 2.
