I saw one close up in an enclosure at a reptile farm in Ca.My mom,dad and me all reacted the same way when we saw him.We moved back from the enclosure
The hair on the back of my neck stood up. It was 17.5 ft.and about 1800 lbs.

I’m a little late, but I work at Alligator Adventure, and this croc is so well taken care of. His enclosure is much larger in real life and is the 4th largest enclosure in the park, along side the duck pound, main canal and hyena enclosure. He barely ever moves and yes, he is a really chill boy!

Actually, i believe one of the workers for Utan who used to stick his head in his mouth was actually possibly killed. It may just be that a lot of time passed because Utan has been in this park for almost 17 years, I am 30 and he came when I was like 13. We asked about the trainer a few years ago, and they were like “who?”
Also, some of the gators here are literally almost as big as Utan. The crocs tails get longer than gators, but big Alligators have stupidly big heads and jaws. Edit: I think he is the guy. He just wasnt there last time I was there.

That would be terrifying! Not only would it be huge (if at least one of the hybrids was a male), but it would be dangerous as hell since both Nile and Saltwater Crocodiles are labeled as the most aggressive crocodile species on the planet.
If you want to make it bigger and meaner afterwards, have the hybrid then breed with a Cuban crocodile. And help anyone who would dare even try to care for that thing.

He spent decades in green polluted pool along with other hundreds of crocs. His life in the US is really well now. If you look at his head, there are some noticable white skins. Thats a condition for being submerged in water all the time for decades. He was suffering back then. Hope he live happily for another more decades in the US!

I saw Utan for the first time in 2009. The handler took our cameras to get a great picture. We were there for his first feeding of the year, early spring. He hadn’t eaten all winter. They fed him 3 skinned rabbits. You could hear his jaws coming together from a block away. He’s massive. This video doesn’t do him justice.

      Franklin Barnes
Crocodilians (that includes alligators, crocodiles, caimans and gharials) are related to dinosaurs, but they do not descend from them.
The true descendants of dinosaurs are birds. Birds are classified as dinosaurs.
While both dinosaurs/birds and crocodilians share a common ancestor (archosaurs), they belong to different orders. (Crocodilians are also closer related to birds than to lizards).
The first ancestors of the crocodilians appeared before any of the actual dinosaurs, making them older.
In conclusion: Birds are dinosaurs, crocodiles aren't. Both are closely related and have a common ancestor, though.
