@@kismecrow fun fact, the modernized wendigo is actually closest to the celtic Leshen. Most notably featured in the Witcher games. The main difference being how fleshy vs planty they are. (Modern wendigo vs leshen, that is.)
So, one thing I'm noticing about this deer is the absurd amount of points on his antlers, you only see this is fenced in deer farming situations. CWD is a communicable disease that is spread through even saliva, and when a deer infected is eating off of the same food pile that other deer are, those deer then become infected too. This whole operation is probably infected by the time this one started showing these symptoms, and now it's only a matter of time before the rest follow. Fenced in deer farming is leading to a boom of CWD outbreaks, and this brain disease is going to eventually decimate a large percentage of the population. Hopefully it never jumps to people, because we wouldn't stand a chance. Edit: I took the video title at face value and talked about CWD while explaining what could have been a probable situation in my mind. But now that I watch it more, the side of the deers face looks pretty damaged, and it's by a road, making me believe the deer was probably hit by a vehicle. That number of points is still astonishing for what could potentially be a wild deer.
There have been a few confirmed cases of CWD in humans, however it takes multiple years to progress to a stage that would show a positive test result. (For instance, cows won’t test for mad cow disease until 3-5 years of age. Yet cows are slaughtered and sold by 1..) So…you could potentially have it right now, be it mad cow disease, or CWD from eating a deer… BUT, it won’t progress to a detectable stage for 10+ years, or to an impaired stage like this deer 🦌 for 15+ years. { ‘Mad cow disease’ is the commonly used name for bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). It is one of a number of prion diseases. Prions are a type of infectious particle. Prion diseases are progressive, degenerative infections that affect the central nervous system of cattle. They can be spread to humans who eat the beef of an infected animal or come into contact with tissues of infected animals. The cattle themselves become infected with BSE by eating feed contaminated with the BSE organism. The cattle develop brain disease that results in death. When humans get the disease, it causes a variation of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) called variant CJD (vCJD), which is a fatal brain disorder. “BSE has been transmitted to people primarily in the United Kingdom, causing a variant form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD). In the United Kingdom, where over 1 million cattle may have been infected with classic BSE, a substantial species barrier appears to protect people from widespread illness. Since vCJD was first reported in 1996, a total of only 231 patients with this disease, including 3 secondary, blood transfusion-related cases, have been reported worldwide” } I got that info at your moms house 🎯

In infected animals, CWD starts with a single abnormal protein called a prion, which causes lesions or holes in the animal's brain, making the cerebellum and cortex resemble a sponge. The lesions cause tremors, chronic weight loss, and confused behavior, such as walking in circles or stumbling. Chronic wasting disease is a disorder of the neurological system that affects cervids, which are animals that are members of the deer family such as deer, elk and moose. Chronic wasting disease is caused by a prion, or misfolded protein. Prions are mostly found in the brain.

It’s caused by a protein that’s produced in the brains of deer…like mad cows disease…the reason it happened so badly in European countries compared the the states is because they would grind up dead cows and throw it in the feed for the rest of the cows…the brain matter that contains the protein was being ingested by their own kind causing a prions like disease…it turns the brain into Swiss cheese….it’s sad really and this is why I won’t eat deer meat or any meat unless it’s been tested or from a trusted source like a local rancher and was processed humanely ….in humans it’s called kuros disease (idk if that is spelled right lol) but that being said…if the human and bovine forms are caused by ingesting it’s own kinds brain matter then how are these deer being exposed to that situation as well ? I have always thought this was being done in purpose eliminating another food source and eliminating any desperate human willing to eat the diseased animal…I hate this world…we are in hell

Something to also consider is that if we dont remove the infected deer, it will spread faster, because the corpse or feces will pretty much affect the area around it, so if more deer graze there they get infected too
Concidering how the Eyes, Antlers and Facial Expressions especially seem affected to such a great degree I can see why it would trigger a primordial "Nope".

Yeah you seen how well we do with viruses
There have been a few confirmed cases of CWD in humans, however it takes multiple years to progress to a stage that would show a positive test result.
(For instance, cows won’t test for mad cow disease until 3-5 years of age. Yet cows are slaughtered and sold by 1..)
So…you could potentially have it right now, be it mad cow disease, or CWD from eating a deer…
BUT, it won’t progress to a detectable stage for 10+ years, or to an impaired stage like this deer 🦌 for 15+ years.
“BSE has been transmitted to people primarily in the United Kingdom, causing a variant form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD). In the United Kingdom, where over 1 million cattle may have been infected with classic BSE, a substantial species barrier appears to protect people from widespread illness. Since vCJD was first reported in 1996, a total of only 231 patients with this disease, including 3 secondary, blood transfusion-related cases, have been reported worldwide” }

"opertunity"
In infected animals, CWD starts with a single abnormal protein called a prion, which causes lesions or holes in the animal's brain, making the cerebellum and cortex resemble a sponge. The lesions cause tremors, chronic weight loss, and confused behavior, such as walking in circles or stumbling.
Chronic wasting disease is a disorder of the neurological system that affects cervids, which are animals that are members of the deer family such as deer, elk and moose. Chronic wasting disease is caused by a prion, or misfolded protein. Prions are mostly found in the brain.

Yeah I've heard never seen tho till now
The rumor that it turns them into zombies is not a lie by the way it eats their brain and it controls them and makes them act like zombies.
Our local authorities choose to end a deers/mosses etc life, when they are clearly infected with CWD and they explained why.
This disease is highly contagious, not curable and leads to the animals death. And most importantly, the animals affected are in pain, they really suffer and it can go days or even weeks before they die….. my uncle is a hunter and he shoots those poor animals with a modern bow and arrow to avoid any fluids that are contaminated. The bodies are than burned to stop the spread…. It’s a scary disease!
What do you mean "mosses"?
@I'm really bad at naming things pretty sure he meant mooses.....
@@kristenharral4707 Oh, okay. Makes sense, but the actual plural is just "moose" so I got a little confused
A scary disease for sure. I hope and pray it never goes to humans. That would be so scary
@@SupergirlJLM it already has in a sense. As mentioned earlier we are animals as well in Mother Natures world. Eventually over population, diseases, bacteria, viruses, and countless other monomolies play a role in the overall health of a species. Since humans have developed ways to help defend against these hazards towards us. One of which is the medical field. Thru their research and development we continue to fend off some major life taking diseases. The medicines and other things developed thru trial and error. Like Chemo, radiation, skin grafts, and ect all are used to keep us alive or make us .ore comfortable in life. The problem is eventually one of these viruses or a bacterial infection keep mutating trying to infect/kill us. Similar to Covid coming on so quickly. With the way we are polluting this planet and changing it to our liking. The worse its going to get. All the so called global warming their cramming down0 peoples throat is all for greed/money. Its a natural occurrence on this planet and has been proven many times over. We're just expediting it to happen sooner with our pollutioning ways of life. An example most don't think as a pollution is concrete. All the areas covered by concrete no longer are plants/trees using carbon monoxide to live but reading clean pure oxygen. Or that concrete retains heat and radiates back into atmosphere along with the reflected light it throws back untoward Ozone Layer. It would blow your mind investigating what we are doing to Earth that killing it but we don't have a clue. Those that do have the knowledge are hushed by the people who make money off our unknowingly contributions to their causes. I said enough you can move forward with the info I gave you or forget it. Its your decision not mine. Take care of yourself and stay healthy.
this is probably how the skinwalker myth started
This is among some of the most terrifying zoonotic diseases I've learned about. CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease) and how it affects the hosts is horrific. Definitely up there with Rabies and Mad Cow Disease.
Edit: I forgot, the deer's behavior could also be attributed to brain worm as well. Most brain worm cases usually cause the exact same result we're seeing. Wide dead eyes, moving in circles...and while its not a disease per se, its still horrifying to see happen.
If you ever wondered what a zombie apocalypse would look like..imagine humans contracting this at the rate these deer have.
@@johnghatti5435 I was thinking the same thing
This and the powers over minds and muscles fungus can have are some of the most scary yet interesting shit
The channel called Real Science has a new video called " The Zombies around us" or something similar. But it shows how fungus take over insects bodies rather then the mind to control them. Essentially becoming a prisoner in their own body and with the discovery of toxoplasmosis we do know that some of the species are able to make the jump to humans albeit in a less serious manner but has more studies are conducted we're learning that they affect us in very negative ways
I'm pretty sure that CWD, mad cow, & CJD are the same thing. Self-replicating bent protein chains.
This CWD and the like has to be where alot of Cryptid sightings come from. Imagine a nice stroll in the woods and see this
