You mentioned in the video title that he has “all his shots too”, but was he UPDATED with his rabies vaccine? Pet animals need to be vaccinated every 3 years with the rabies vaccine. So just because your dog had all his shots doesn’t mean he was updated with his shots, which is why he was infected to begin with.
He lied, when I first commented that wasn’t in the title,he edited the title after people started pointing out the fact that he should have had the dog vaxed
Question: When did he get his last rabies booster prior to this incident? And how much time had passed between that booster and the one previous to it?
I refuse to accept that a bite from another animal would cause rabies. I personally believe that this disease could stem from the environmental pollution. Correct me if I am wrong because a saliva transmission from another dog or wild animal would not convince to believe that this is the cause of rabies. No animal would simply bite just to transmit the disease from one organism to another.
@@claudiaarmah2389 What rock have you been living under? Rabies is a lyssavirus that attacks the central nervous system, causing encephalitis that completely alters the behavior of the victim, causing the victim to become uncontrollably violent in 80% of cases. It also uses saliva as a reservoir, triggering hypersalivation, and using aggression to spread itself. When infected saliva gets into a bite, the virus travels along the nerves to the brain, where it incubates and starts to take over. Once symptoms begin, the disease is 100% fatal in animals and very nearly 100% fatal in humans. 59,000 people are killed by rabies every year, 99% of them because of dog bites, and only 29 people have ever survived--all within the last 15 years. Most of them have permanent disabilities, with the only known exceptions being young children with greater brain elasticity. Bats are the originators of lyssavirus, and harbor many species, some of which are clinically indistinguishable from common rabies, but are also rarer and harder to transmit. For example, Australian bat lyssavirus can only be transmitted by a bat, because it can't effectively colonize other species to spread itself in their saliva (at least not at this time). But a bat can pass it along in just a mild scratch. Some lyssaviruses are harmless to humans, or are at least survivable, and the ones that do affect us are generally responsive to the rabies vaccine. Some include a furious phase for which the virus family is named, and some, like Mokola virus, do not, resembling paralytic rabies instead (the more merciful form of rabies that occurs 20% of the time).
That’s exactly what I was thinking too. I was bitten on the calf by a clients chihuahua/Pom mix and she swore up and down he was present on his vaccinations but when she provided documentation, the pup was several months out of date.

Okay after rewatching this a few times, I wonder who confirmed that the dog was rabid. Did he just return back home and you assumed he is rabid because of his saliva? There can be other reasons too. Can someone post more details please

Canine distemper presents like that also as can neurotoxins. I really hope this dog was taken in and properly diagnosed because if it was rabies, letting it continue to roam put the community at risk. Very sad.
The way he calmed down at the sound of your voice, then kind of perked up and ran toward you did not seem aggressive. Are you sure this was rabies? Especially considering that he was vaccinated? Shaking, twitching and salivating can be symptoms of a snake bite as well. Did the dog die?
Poor dog looked extremely sad when u called him then ran from him.. Had a dog when i was young that had weird "mild" seizures & looked just like that when it happened.. he'd just stand there zoned out, drool/foam, shake a bit & then come out of it & run (everytime he stopped, he ran around for some reason) if he really had rabies tho, whys he just chillin out loose in the front yard of a neighborhood?
I emphasize with you and your family for dealing with the hard and painful ordeal. I hope you and your family found peace and that Tico was taken care of properly. He was still family but in an intense amount of pain and confusion. May your rest be peaceful, sweet Tico. You seemed to have been a great family companion.
Are you sure it had rabies vac ? If,he did then he should not of got rabies ,there other reasons they can look this way ,parvo , distemper,...If,it's had rabies shots I would least be sure it's not something he can be cured of before calling it rabies ,unless you left dog out and knew there wildlife that could of attack him ,even still if,he had rabies shot I wouldn't suspect rabies ...If,someone let him out I'd be really on the person who was negligent and didn't try get dog back inside and it's on them the poor dog ended up in this condition sadly .,I can't imagine seeing how the dog came and knew his name he would done that if,he didn't feel you cared about him ,so that makes me believe he knew you cared about him and he tried to come home ..The only thing that bothers me is rabies doesn't just in one day they exhibit this so poor dog had to been gone longer than a day ...

Took a lot of courage to call his name in hopes he’d still be normal. You can tell the owner was scared and trying to process what he was seeing. Such a sad sight.
Was it really rabies? Dogs with canine disorder also have that saliva, dripping down their faces. Dogs with rabies are usually afraid of any light. Was he vaccinated for canine disorder?
so sorry this happened but he’s in Heaven hopefully he went in Peace i really wish there was something more we could do for Tico hopefully he is a reminder to all other dog owners of the dangers that can still happen with or without vaccination 🙏
This is why I sympathize with animals over humans. Humans know better animals know nothing but to exist with loyalty. Whether it be to their pack, pride, or owner. All dogs go to heaven buddy I'm sure it was tough though, they're family.
What’s sad is the fact that millions of dogs around the world suffered from this back before the vaccine and had to put killed because of it. even now it’s still depressing seeing a dog you once loved gain an infection that is life threatening
poor baby. probably doesn’t know what’s happening, he seems so lost. cant keep control, still knows his name and wants to play with his owner. little guy is scared, i’m sure.
I would really like to know the truth about this situation! This does not appear to be a rabies case and I don’t believe so unless it was confirmed. This looks like a case of poisoning or getting into something that made him sick. This dog is not foaming at the mouth is drooling excessively which tells me that he was very sick at his stomach and his body was trying to rid itself of a toxin. He was not trying to attack! He was looking to his master for help! I certainly hope he got that! Unfortunately, I don’t believe there’s a way to confirm rabies while an animal is alive… 😢

He was still there, trapped inside his mind while the virus was taking over his brain... That's the most terrifying thing about Rabies.

@@paigelovette8156 you don't know.
@@81crispy Maybe he did have the initial rabies shot and was tired of seeing the comments asking about it.
Yep your exactly right
??? 3 years? My dogs get their shot every year, maybe it depends on the vaccine idk
It doesn't outright make them immune to rabies, just gives them a better defense
@@AtarahDerek what did they say?
@@AtarahDerek Were the 29% treated before the symptoms showed up? Because once the symptoms show up it's near 100% fatal.

I hope u called animal control to come take him away..kids could be walking around..
Seeing him stand outside looking at you is so heartbreaking...
Dogs are the best, when they suffer its awful.
Im not doubting but why would he get Rabies if he had all his shots? And why is he roaming free in what looks like a public area?
Im sorry for your loss, that must have been extremely hard to deal with.
Shouldn’t the dog ha d his rabies vaccine-there would be no issue than. It’s the most important shot to get and worth every penny. Poor guy.
Tico was a good boy. RIP. I hope he did not hurt anyone
Okay after rewatching this a few times, I wonder who confirmed that the dog was rabid. Did he just return back home and you assumed he is rabid because of his saliva? There can be other reasons too. Can someone post more details please
He was seizing up too. He had Rabbies
I lost my dog this year so i understand. Im so sorry for you 😢
Why did you let that dog out free it could have bit someone you should have called animal control.

I am so sorry this had happened to your poor lil puppy rabbies is the worst thing to happen to animals but when it gets into dogs is just the absolute most worst and saddest thing very sorry this happened and can’t even imagine how hard this must have been for you😭😢RIP to this sweet little angle💝💞ngl I almost started crying watching this video.
Canine distemper presents like that also as can neurotoxins. I really hope this dog was taken in and properly diagnosed because if it was rabies, letting it continue to roam put the community at risk. Very sad.
The only way to confirm rabies is to euthanize and test the brain tissue, so either way the dog died.
Dude rabid dogs get put down. They don't get "diagnosed". It's a shame but if the dog is drooling, twitching and aggressive it needs to be euthanised.
Quick question when did you see the first symptoms of your dog having rabies and was it put down or did you wait for it to die?😢
Damn man I'm sorry you had to go through this
The way he calmed down at the sound of your voice, then kind of perked up and ran toward you did not seem aggressive. Are you sure this was rabies? Especially considering that he was vaccinated? Shaking, twitching and salivating can be symptoms of a snake bite as well. Did the dog die?
Are u fkn serious?????

Poor dog looked extremely sad when u called him then ran from him.. Had a dog when i was young that had weird "mild" seizures & looked just like that when it happened.. he'd just stand there zoned out, drool/foam, shake a bit & then come out of it & run (everytime he stopped, he ran around for some reason) if he really had rabies tho, whys he just chillin out loose in the front yard of a neighborhood?
Chico is not the same hes a zombie now dont call him if just going to run
May your sweet pup rest in peace away from all the terrible things on earth 😔
I emphasize with you and your family for dealing with the hard and painful ordeal. I hope you and your family found peace and that Tico was taken care of properly. @@Garbageman_Matttrue.. any bite near brain area is early key to heaven.
After getting all shots of Rabies, how could it happen?? He should not get affected, right?
Rabie vaccines don’t always work. Most vaccines work, but rabies is particularly crazy
Heartbreaking. I cannot imagine my dog or cat suffering like that.
this video’s gonna bring me to tears man. jesus christ. the way tico has to see his owner separating him through the glass .. just awful. poor poor baby.
awful for both of them before anyone mistakes me. there’s few things as painful as turning on the ones you love
What puzzles me is why the cameraman ran the risk of being bitten by an obviously rabid dog.
Well it's the owner's dog and he was trying to check up on it I'm sure he knew it had rabies but I guess he was in the stages of grief and had denial that the dog had rabies until it ran up to him
Rabies will take out any house animal you have which is annoying
Awww .. love and fear... You have to catch him and have him put down but you both love each other. 😭❤️
Super sad. I am not letting my 3 month puppy lab be around other animals until she’s old enough for her shots
pretty sure his dog had all shots and still got rabies it's in the title of this video so I wouldn't recommend even when she old enough.
imagine him thinking after all the pain and suffering finally seeing a familiar face and they run away from you.
"Tico what's wrong boy?" "I have rabies."
oh man thats so sad. the worst fate. im sorry that happened.
Took a lot of courage to call his name in hopes he’d still be normal. You can tell the owner was scared and trying to process what he was seeing. Such a sad sight.
If it ever went airborne, talk about zombies
Oof yea
Was it really rabies? Dogs with canine disorder also have that saliva, dripping down their faces.
Dogs with rabies are usually afraid of any light.
Was he vaccinated for canine disorder?
Sorry you lost Tico like this, it’s heartbreaking.

so sorry this happened but he’s in Heaven hopefully he went in Peace i really wish there was something more we could do for Tico hopefully he is a reminder to all other dog owners of the dangers that can still happen with or without vaccination 🙏
Poor tico you can tell he was just as confused as his human was
Poor dog, he's confused.
So sorry you had to go through that.
This is why I sympathize with animals over humans. Humans know better animals know nothing but to exist with loyalty. Whether it be to their pack, pride, or owner. All dogs go to heaven buddy I'm sure it was tough though, they're family.
That's a romantic notion. Dogs are living, thinking with feelings. Not just an outlet for human ego.
so what ended up happening to the dog? you put him down or he died on his own?
He was put down
What’s sad is the fact that millions of dogs around the world suffered from this back before the vaccine and had to put killed because of it. even now it’s still depressing seeing a dog you once loved gain an infection that is life threatening
That's why vaccinate your pets guys. I know it costs but health of animal is more worthy.
You shouldn't have let him roam freely. It could be dangerous for others.

So, instead of calling Animal Control, he lets his rabid dog on the street, loose. What a smart man.

Was his rabies vaccine yearly or every 3 years? Some people do it every 3 years, when it should be yearly.

poor baby. probably doesn’t know what’s happening, he seems so lost. cant keep control, still knows his name and wants to play with his owner. little guy is scared, i’m sure.

He was in and out of it he still responded its so sad
That's so sad man. I'm really sorry. Poor little guy, that is one of the worst ways to go!
Why is he out in the front yard loose when he has rabies and why are you torturing him by calling his name and shutting the door on him?
