Damn dude.. This is my first time here, this whole video, message, plus the entire thing hitting you on a personal, visceral level. A solid, honest, real reaction. I appreciate you, sir, and wish you the best. 🫡
Did you know that less than 10% of people react to music with goose pimples? It is said that it only happens when you truly resonate with the cords and notes of the music.
I'm sorry you had to go through all that Salty, but what's amazing is seeing the kind of person you turned out to be and that's an amazing, gentle and funny soul. We appreciate you and your reactions. Keep it up!
I’m sorry you had to go through that…my dad was abusive as well. No child should have to go through that. My family’s abuse from him lasted over 25 years. I was 18 when I got away, I never realized how bad things were until he found out I was pregnant and not married…the last time I spoke to him face to face, he said that I should be stoned and my child should be sacrificed, and he was willing to do the sacrifice to “save mine and my unborn child’s souls”. I left that night, packed a bag and got as far away as I could. It has been 11 years since then. I now am married, have 3 beautiful boys and a loving man who puts us and our children first. My life has been terrible, but there is always a silver lining. Sometimes it’s hard to find, but it’s there, you just gotta keep looking.
I could tell when he said, “and in the light of my demise, I see my failures in your eyes” hit home pretty hard. Like it’s too late for me to rewrite those wrongs, you don’t have to say a single word, I can see it in your eyes I’ve failed you as a father. Deep shit. No doubt. MIW has a lot of deeper, well written songs. Well worth the listen.
The first time I heard this song I was a mess. I love my Dad to death but barely got to see him growing up because my Mom kept us from him on his weekends any chance she got, then we had a falling out for a few years because I was a stupid headstrong kid, luckily everything is good with us now and he's one of my best friends. I couldn't tell you the number of times I've sang it at the top of my lungs with tears rolling down my face driving home from work just thinking of my shortcomings and especially knowing my daughter's will already be asleep and thinking about how I don't get to spend enough time with them because I work afternoon shift.
I relate to this song the same way Chris does. He said it was about him being so hard on himself throughout his life and how nothing he did was good enough for his standards. The chorus is his consciousness trying to apologize to himself for making his life so hard and making him have so much self hate for no reason. It’s crazy how so many people have a different relation to the lyrics, that’s the beauty of music. I’m sorry you had to go through that, you didn’t deserve that abuse and I wish your father could’ve been a better person that would have had less regret by the end of his life. Your story is tragic and it is common, which is a shame. Thanks for being open, you’re a strong man
I’ve heard this song a few hundred times. I’ve watched this video a couple hundred times… And there hasn’t been one time I haven’t cried. It seems like a sad song from one man to a lost, intimate, relationship…it’s not…it is illustrating the regret that only men feel, a hundred different ways…with how we wish things turned out differently. Thank you for allowing yourself to feel.
"And in the light of my demise I see my failures in your eyes" that hit home. Saw them perform this in concert. It was a very emotional experience I'll never forget
This is what i love about music that it can transcend lines and generations i grew up listing to Hank Sr with my granddad all the way to music like this and it is all capable of hitting the souls of people who chose to listen to it
I just stumbled across your video while just searching for random reaction videos. I actually felt the music through your emotions. As someone who has never visited your channel and randomly comments. I just want to say that I am sorry that you had to go through that, but what I see is a person who can feel the emotion in the song. I truly appreciate that. You have gained yourself a subscriber and thank you for sharing your emotions and story. As an avid fan of Motionless in White, I would highly recommend more of their songs for your viewing pleasure. Any of them will insight some type of emotion. Hope you have a blessed day. ♥♥
Chris Cerulli wrote this song about himself. For me, it reminds me of my brother. The lyrics paint him to a T. "I need to heal what I inflict, but I'll burn that bridge when I get to it." And "I confess these sins with a sharp and spiteful tongue." Those lines in particular really hit home. This is one of my favorite bands.
Dude, I didn't even see you did a reaction to this until now... I love Motionless in White. Great band and I think you'll enjoy more of their stuff, usually harder than this though.
The song Finds the Emotion in any or all of us in some place that lies hidden ... We can all relate & a Tear is a cleansing ... Thank You "Motionless in White" ~ Thats what makes it a --- (MASTERPIECE) --- Metaldad2112
@salty i had much the same reaction when i found MIW.. i also had a strained relationship with my dad.. and this song hit me right in the heart.. he's passed an i never got to say i'm sorry nor make amends with him.. i hope he knew i loved him no matter what.. much love to you for this reaction.. they truly are a great band and their lyrical content is stellar..
They have a lot of good songs with similar sound. “Another life” “Eternally Yours” “Disguise” “Reincarnate” are my favorites you should check all of them out and get your reactions. You won’t be disappointed with any of them if you just gave this one a 10. As far as “Eternally Yours”…. He did a remake of it toned down kind of like what Ronnie Radke did to I’m not a vampire and the drug in me is reimagined. I believe it’s call “Eternally yours Motion picture” it’s pretty easy to find on here and I would like to see your reaction to that as well! You’re probably one of if not my favorite reactor to watch!! You have good taste in music
If I'm not mistaken this song is the last in a trilogy. The songs are "Eternally Yours" "Another Life" and ofc "Masterpiece" basically a story of falling in love promise that eternity of love then getting hurt falling out of love and going through all those emotions and finishing with this song of confronting those emotions and moving on or at least trying to move on. Chris is a lyrical genius especially with the heart wretching stuff
Stumbled across your reaction through late night drunken recommendations. All I can say is wow. I lost my Dad 7 years ago, and only being 28 now I never looked at this song the way you did. Thank you for your reaction, genuinely.

Your reaction is so pure and genuine. I can tell you feel it in every fibre of your being and i as well as your other viewers I'm sure definitely appreciate it. 🖤
I always love watching new reactors. I was abused by my grandfather growing up, and in 2020 our grandmother passed away. She was mine and my brothers legal guardian. After she passed he sat there and looked at a bunch of old photos. We were all sad, but I could feel he was more hurt because he realized how abusive he was. My brothers and I moved out a year after. I just wanted to say out of all the reactions I’ve seen to this song, I think you really understood the message. I am so sorry you had to go through what you did.
Mr Salty, I love that you allowed yourself to be so vulnerable, thank you for sharing the memory of your dad with us. My kids are now adults, I think of them when I listen to this song. Almost like I like I know I wasn’t perfect and I’m sorry. I think that’s the beauty of the song, different people have different emotions they give it and they’re all valid.
My dad told me he loved me 1 time my whole life,he's never told me he's proud of me,I've taken care of my dad for years and have never gotten a thank you

It is an emotional song - we love ya, and we got to keep sharing the heavy ones, cause it is how we survive! Many hugs 💜🖤❤🩹
I was also expecting some screaming, hard metal thing. I'm pleasantly surprised.
