RIP ... I am disappointed that I only learned of their legendary work this late. I hope other parts of the Philippines teach their historical contribution.
@@louiswendt4371 well he has a point, unless that plane had been completely destroyed by the attack only then would it only get as much recognition as Sully.
How could anyone attempt to kill hundreds of innocent souls like this?! Such a sweet captain and crew. Salute to you heroes and the rest of the crew for their amazing efforts. RIP to the passenger in 26K.
What makes this even more terrifying was that this bomb was a "test run" for more terroristic attacks, known as the Bojinka Plot. Fortunately, the plans were disrupted, but some elements of the plan were used in the 9/11 attacks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bojinka_plot en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Airlines_Flight_434
Sadly both pilot and co-pilot died of illness and natural causes, only the flight engineer lives to this day, and even had a short stint as Air Asia Philippines's CEO.
That is a textbook landing for the pilots of Philippines Airline Flight 434 they landed at Naha all the passengers and crew have survived and injured but one died
@@liamisfillipinoandmore no thats clearly just a clip of a random 747 buttering because when you dont know how damaged your plane is and you can land you just want to put it down, not butter it
I can't imagine the haunting atmosphere in the cabin as the plane preps for an uncertain landing. Those passengers look absolutely traumatized at 2:23. And to think all this horror was caused by one man.
At 03:00 the pilot says, " I am disconnecting the auto pilot and landing manually, Ok Dex?" then at 03: 28 the pilot says, "Pull." Then at 03:40 he says, " The last command was " Pull, Pull" So it seems that this aircraft did have some control left apart from the engine throttles. At 02:27, the narrator says that the 92 people on board are pinning their survival on the skill of the pilot , He should have added, " The pilot and all those on board pin thier lives on the remain working engineered structure provided by engineers and which will have to buffer the momentum of that gigantic aircraft which is not more than an engineered prosthetic aid which the pilots and passengers need to wear whan they VOLUNTARILY chose to fly without any wings of their own. NO pilot and no passenger can do what is being done in this video when naked. Mot of the time it is the ENGINEER that buffers the life of a pilot and passengers all through normal flights and on most of the incidents when part of the engineering goes wrong and the robust but redundant system implemented by engineers is what buffers the high momentum of a pilot and passengers. Sully and others owed teir lives due to the fact that the engineering structure always buffer their high speed landing with the " Shock absorbing " qualities of the buffering equipment on the qircraft including flaps, undercarriage, brakes........... I can see a pilot dropping from the sky trying to buffer his velocity relative to the ground when he is naked and with 30,000hours of lying experience using a prosthetic aid called an aircraft. In all these," Heroic acts" I do believe that the engineer is worth a mention as to his contribution to buffer the manner in which pilots and passengers are made to kiss the ground below their flight,

There’s aways relief when they interview the pilot !

I love how other interviews in this series are all solemn but then we got these pilots and it's like they're telling the story over a few beers 😂
That's Filipinos for you 😂
I hate this saying but Filipinos are resilient and happy people. It's so cliche, but it's true.
A bomb exploded and they still managed to butter the landing, respect to these people

Truly great teamwork and piloting.

Filipino pilots have always been great. Hard workers and quite responsible.
SALUTE THESE PILOTS! AMAZING WORK CREW
Filipino pilots are one of the greatest in the industry. Can compete head to head (with a good heart + faith in God).

Why?
Landing a plane with a bomb explosion, almost no control, serious failures and passengers seriously injured isn't a good pilot skills?
