      Thank you Jenny. I knew you'd see it sometime. I just wanted you to know that you were in my thoughts at Thanksgiving, and more importantly, that you were well and OK.
      Thanks for such a lovely message once again and yes, slowly creeping towards 3k subs, which is be something I'll be very proud to achieve and I couldn't reach without everyone's support.
      As we know, you have given this channel and myself such fabulous support and encouragement over the years Jenny, and I truly hope that I can continue to inspire everyone to take an interest in what's around them, wherever they live, into the coming year. Thank you so much. ❤❤

    I was excited to see (and recognise 😉) the Red Green Carpet, such a tidy specimen too.

    Better turn out than i would have expected. I love how it gets dark early in winter, great you can still have opportunities to go moth trapping

      It is. I did have a surprised dog walker come past, who had no idea some moths flew in Winter.

    Above average catch for the time of year Trevor, I only had 2 moths in the actinic on Monday night, both of which were completely different colour forms of mottled umber, they’re very variable as you mentioned. Great video as always Trevor and take care.

      Yes, it wasn't bad Maxwell. I was happy with it and worth the effort. Enjoyed your video too. Take care.

    Thank you for your lovely and informative videos throughout the year! I was out on 16th with 2 pals at an isolated spot on the South Devon coast path hoping for rare migrants. We all blanked! Too windy I think! Never mind. Happy Xmas and a good mothing New Year to you from Devon!

      Thanks so much. Yes, I know there's not much variety, but it's still nice to get out for a couple of hours and trap something 😀

    It was interesting to note that you seemed to know what Moth was likely to come in first...does that mean different species of Moth fly at different times throughout the Night Trevor?...and if so, why would that be?

    What a fabulous picture at the beginning with the trees outlined against that pink sky.Will heavy frost kill off some moths or are they as hardy as yourself. I would require at least one coat 😊

    • @theramblingentomologist
      @theramblingentomologist  5 дней назад +1

      They're as hardy as I am Jenny and these species will stand numerous frosts. And like me, they don't need a coat 😂

      @@theramblingentomologist I commented to Mr A on the lack of coat. I'd have to be wrapped up coat, scarf, gloves...

    • @theramblingentomologist
      @theramblingentomologist  3 дня назад

      😀😀I've not wore a coat since 2012 Catherine, meaning there's lots of folk waiting for me to catch a bad cold, so they can say 'he should have wore a coat' 😂
