The Ladies ages; Akane is 31, Miku and Akane are both 30, MISA is 29 and Saiki is 28. In the early years of the band Akane "WAS" the "Leader" of the band. As she was the most organized and level headed. Now there is no leader per se, The band is a cooperative effort on the part of all the Ladies. As for further watching/listening pleasure you can write the names of them on the wall and throw a dart at it. Any song the dart hits will be a good song. To see just WHY, most of us fell in love with them and their music though, you should react to ANY live video. They were formed in 2013 by Miku Kobato (rhythm guitar,vocals,main lyricist). Kanami Tono (lead guitar,main composer) joined first, followed by Akane Hirose (drums), then MISA (bass guitar) and finally Saiki Atsumi (vocals). Miku couldn't play the guitar when she started Band-Maid but she can now because Kanami is her guitar teacher. Members birthdays: Akane - December 14,1990 ; Kanami - September 28,1991 ; Miku - October 21,1991 ; MISA - October 15,1992 ; Saiki - February 8,1994. So that's three (3) Libras, one (1) Sagittarius and one (1) Aquarius. They really shine playing live. But you can pick any song because they are all good. Here's my take on DICE's lyrics: I know the "dice" have already been thrown (as in her lyrics), but I choose to look at it as stop being indecisive, sitting in a dark room playing with dolls (TV, phone, toys, games, etc.). "Seize the moment", roll the dice, open your eyes, and walk into the light! Miku's lyrics, especially after translation, can be a bit cryptic - open for interpretation, as are all poems and lyrics. But their music is always right on point which melds the two into wonderful songs of possibilities! Thx, Faro & Sofi!

Miku says it’s a miracle that they came together like they did and I can’t disagree with her. Miku had the idea of girls in maid uniforms rocking as hard as the boys - she had worked in a maid cafe 💡 - she was an aspiring actress and also in a 3-girl singing group (Lil’ Cumin) - she told her management who said they support them but Miku had to find all the right people - so she found Kanami from her singer-songwriter videos online; Kanami knew Akane, Akane knew Misa. Misa’s band of a few years had just broken up the night before! Miku knew of Saiki (same management company) and thought she was so cool and a great singer, but was scared to approach her herself and afraid she wouldn’t want to dress like a maid so she had the management do it without telling her they were going to dress like maids - Saiki thought their demo music was great and only learned of the maid costumes after she agreed to join the band 😂 The rest is history!!! They have great softer songs, too - Daydreaming - official MV - About Us - official live video - Start Over - official MV - Wonderland - official live video - Puzzle - Acoustic - live video And they have two songs with all English vocals: - Don’t Let Me Down - official MV (The lyrics are pretty naughty 😈) - The Dragon Cries - official MV (serious topic) So many great songs- best rock band on planet earth 🌍 today, imho. I too am a maidiac who is not a heavy metal fan. Not that B-M is metal, but they incorporate some aspects and seem to attract many metal fans. I love that they have catchy melodies and back then up with great energy and generally positive lyrics.

You really should see an Official live video of one of their songs. Thats where their positive, happy vibe really shines, when they perform in front of an audience. It's contagious... I always end up with a smile after watching them live. If you're looking for a live recording checkout their song "Freedom" live, or "Domination" live. But, as you have probably already heard from the other Maidaics, their songs vary quite a bit. Ballad, groove rock, hard rock, acoustic. They are talented enough to play anything they want. As an American in a small Iowa town, the typical perceptions of Muslim life and that being a Muslim woman allows no individuality or personal tastes without them being labelled "Haram". Tour presentations go a long way to end such stereotypes. We are all humans...and it would seem "Maidiacs" as well. MY best wishes for your continued success. Let me introduce about them little more. Initially Akane was the leader because other members thought Akane was the most organized and level-headed person among them. But soon they realized that she was pretending to be one. Now Akane is called as a lovable dumb-bunny by other members. Miku is the founder of this band and is a PR person and the main lyricist. Kanami is the main composer and musical genius. During rehearsals, Kanami is the concert master. Saiki is the youngest but all other members respect her opinion when it comes to music. Saiki has the final say in this band. MISA is quiet and looks mysterious but MISA and Akane are two clowns of this band off stage. MISA is a drinking buddy of Saiki. MISA is most trusted by Kanami. Kanami has her blog account which only MISA can view. They really are close friends.
