What u said and the “old Beyonce” was so true! This year of her Super Bowl was right before she changed the industry by surprise releasing an album on a Friday instead of Tuesday. Now every album comes out on Fridays. She didn’t care about charts, about promotion, this was the start of her not giving a fck! Since her album 4, she’s released monumental albums that left the “pop” formula, whether it be dance or country, she’s came into her own as an artist (which she’s always been) but she made it her own & OWNED it. She’s the ONLY one who can mix country, r&b, and trap into one song (sweet honey bucking) is just one example
This is why I always consider Beyonce one of the best, if not the best female performer of this lifetime. She can really serve what is needed to be served to feed the children.

Not sure if you know this, but Beyonce's Dad (also her former manager) was really big on the "motown" artist development system (think Michael Jackson) so he used to have Beyonce and members her singing groups (Girl Tyme, and Destiny's Child) run on treadmills while singing, she's been doing this since she was a child, that's why she is so badass with vocal control. She idolized Tina Turner and Michael Jackson, also known for their vocal control while dancing.

I love seeing vocalists react to Beyoncé! A lot of people know Beyoncé is a great performer but not many recognize her incredible vocal ability while performing! I think you should totally check out the city of hope gala performance. It’s very touching and I believe it showcases her most powerful vocals yet

Go and watch Beyoncé Live At Roseland: Elements of 4. It shows her ability to blow the roof off a Stadium/Arena like this but also her ability to give you an Intimate Ballroom show and make a ballroom feel like Coachella.

But yeah this was also coming off a time where people where questioning her ability to sing because of the mishap at the Inauguration. The media was trying to imply she could not sing as well as she sounds in the studio and questioned her vocal abilities. BaaayyyyyBeeeeee Beyoncé said WHOOOOOOOO?? And made sure there were subtle hints that her 🎤 was ON! For example 6:03 when she slaps the mic.

@9:40 I've watched this performance probably 50+ times lol, and this part always trips me out! I've actually gone back and paused on each frame of this section to study it (lol), and it's REALLY cool how they did this illusion. A TON of thought went into every single frame.
Not to mention pausing on nearly every frame of this entire performance -- not only are the graphics cool, but all the LIGHTS IN THE AUDIENCE/STADIUM.... iiiiiiiiinSANE detail. And this was the year the entire stadium lost power after her show was over 😂😂😂
This is by far the greatest Superbowl Halftime show, EVER. Most people say Michael Jackson's halftime show is the best, which this performance is VERY inspired by. But she adds her own flair, and modern technology, and it's just a MASTERPIECE.
If you look closely, they even switch the two light-skinned dancers out for two darker-skinned girls, that make them look more black-and-white! It makes for an INSANE ILLUSION!!!
