I have seen very, very few people who actually *hate* Villa Vie. What I see very frequently is commentary from people who are *disappointed* in Villa Vie. They wanted so much to think it was going to be great, to do everything it said it was going to do... and then they saw -- over and over again -- evidence that this wasn't happening. Well, of course that's going to be disappointing. I'm sure that it disappointed many people on board the Odyssey, too. (Just read Joe Rhodes' most recent blog post, for an example of that.) As you point out, this kind of thing has been attempted before. It's only succeeded once, and that only worked by charging an exorbitant amount for the residences -- prices that no ordinary person could even seriously dream of affording. So, when Villa Vie came along and looked as though it would actually reach the point of sailing, there were sky-high expectations... expectations that Villa Vie encouraged strongly, advertising all the things they were going to have on the ship, from kitchens for residents to cook their own food to a virtual golf system. Like many startups, there were a lot of missteps, as you point out yourself. And with those sky-high expectations set, missteps were inevitably going to disappoint. The eventual result, once the whole thing has finally sailed and is shaking down into a routine, has turned into a respectable, modest company that does the basics and is (as you also point out) still struggling a bit, but it's getting by. This, as far as I'm concerned, looks pretty good. Even if all the Odyssey does is to get you from point A to point B in safety and reasonable comfort while taking you to a lot of places around the world, at prices normal people can afford... well, that's a damn fine deal in my eyes. Villa Vie hasn't met its marketing expectations, and that's a fact. Some people will find that fact disappointing. Villa Vie has also put a residential ship on the water and has it running. That's also a fact. Many people are going to find that fact fantastic, and not worry about the missed expectations along the way. Finally, I want to say one more thing: Villa Vie has been *desperately* trying to stop anyone from saying negative things about it, to the point of threatening people who complain. According to some residents or former residents, they've been threatened with eviction or even assault for speaking negatively about the company; non-residents have been threatened with lawsuits. There is no excuse for threats. Villa Vie management should be ashamed of them. And the information has come from way too many different sources for me to think there's the slightest chance that those threats didn't actually happen. So I wish Villa Vie would grow a much, much thicker skin about disappointed people who point out that they didn't meet the expectations that they set with their early marketing. They didn't, and that's simply a fact; but it's also a fact that most of us recognize how much of an achievement it is that they've done what they *did* do. Villa Vie can afford to ignore the negative voices, and would be much better off both ethically and practically if it learns to do so.

I mean, yes, I have a very low center of gravity, but I’m guessing 3 or 4 could probably do the job." (From Joe Rhodes) There are two ways you can read the threat, of course: one is the way Joe claims -- likely somewhat tongue in cheek -- to have treated it: as a literal, physical statement that they would lift him bodily and toss him overboard; and the other as meaning that they'd do to him what they did to two people already (retracting one afterwards) and force him to leave the ship. It's possible that Mr. Robert Fong, who according to Rhodes was the speaker above, meant the second. But with somebody coming up yelling in the heat of the moment, I don't think it's unreasonable not to be sure. I'm quite certain that they wouldn't have *actually* thrown anybody overboard, but much less certain that Mr. Fong wouldn't have *said* they were going to, in the heat of anger. In fact, I'm not entirely certain that Mr. Fong necessarily knew in the moment which one he meant either. And honestly? If, out of everything I wrote above, this is the ONLY thing you have an answer for, then you are grasping at straws to make any critic look bad. I am an exceptionally mild critic -- I actually think the Odyssey sounds pretty great, even if they haven't pulled off everything they said they were going to. And I've said so at considerable length and detail. The ONE thing I have said they really need to change is to stop being as touchy about criticism as they have so far been... and you ignore both my cheerleading and my cautious criticism to focus in on ONE quarter-sentence that you think you might be able to challenge successfully?? That kind of proves my point, I'm afraid.
I, for one, absolutely love your channel! The content and topics you share are fantastic. I've never been on a cruise (I have a fear of big water) but the information the two of you provide regarding the Villa Vie have me seriously considering this lifestyle when my husband and I retire. I know, I know... baby steps...but I have to start somewhere, and your channel is perfect for all of the details we need to consider. Thank you so much for all of your hard work!

I am never going to retire on a cruise ship, but I am retiring early overseas to France with my husband,, but I found and follow you guys for your learned insights to life. I appreciate your pragmatic optimism and wonderful adventures, so very glad you both decided to share your experiences. Life is challenging but finding ways to live it your best and then share your lived experiences, that is a gift.. I had more to say especially in the light of todays crazy (I live in the USA) but the last bit about rage baiting happening here, everywhere, this is the time to discern real issues and not get lost in the noise, even if following two really cool dudes on the RUclips, thanks for the thoughts and the life advice!! Hey, Susanne. The repairs are scheduled and we are off the ship, with the “Singapore” segment the one upcoming first. We have option to stay in hotels as part of the cruise while the ship is in dry dock. Thanks for being here.
The one issue that seems to on the rise with RUclips is people making comments without considering how it may impact another. I have stopped making comments (obviously decided some feedback here would be respected) as some people with either a limited education or just like to be disagreeable respond (in my opinion) inappropriately. Issue is no accountability or responsibility for their behaviour. Please continue this aspect of your channel as it is so refreshing to have your experience from your perspective. Like any start up it takes time to resolve issues and hopefully parts will be available to fix broken components or if need be totally replaced. Take care of yourselves and always keep everything in perspective.

I will never understand the haters. it seems to me that Villa Vie has been very upfront with their successes and failures. Those of us who love cruising and travel should be rooting for this to succeed.
Startups can be very shady & even successful ones like Paypal & Uber have dark histories. The haters may be victims of the last attempt to create a Residential cruiseship that went bankrupt, so they’re angry .

Hate is a strong word. To those of us who knew (and loved) the ship, the description of a “luxury cruise ship” comprising “villas” raised some eyebrows. People were bound to be sceptical about such grandiose claims and speculate how else buyers were being misled. I don’t believe anyone is jealous, that’s a lazy interpretation. But I do think critics need to let go now, the residents are happy, and it’s their lives and their money.
I appreciate your perspective especially given your professional background in corporate management. I’m a former corporate lawyer and so agree with your comments. So glad to see more viewers finding your channel. We’ve committed to a cruise to Africa on RC in October. Can’t wait!

I applaud you for doing this video. I think there are people who enjoy creating havoc and want failure. I’m not on the Odyssey yet and have received more nasty comments including people who believe I’m on the ship, a horrible financial planner, crazy, and hope for my failure. It’s too bad that instead of giving Villa Vie support they relish in any “failures “ they see. I’m happy for Villa Vie and grateful for their hard work getting this residential cruise ship up and running. As others have said, I don't understand the haters either if they aren't even on the ship and don't have firsthand knowledge. I've watched several different residents in the Villa Vie and if they are happy, then why do people try to bring them down? You talked honestly about your move to a new cabin and I love to hear about your adventures! For goodness sake, I belong to a group about OATMEAL and people are vicious over there so there are downer people everywhere 😂 so don't let them bother you.

Your opening screen is hilarious. I see the Villa Vie as a shared dream of the founders and the residents. A shared dose of risk as well. As the problems kept coming with the launch, the management seemed to put their heads down and push on. They didn't give up, and neither did the residents, a shared success. The third wheel is those who can not join you but can get a taste if it is through your videos. Thank you!
'The World' has been succesfully cruising for many years. The difference is the VVR is being attempted at a much lower revenue stream. I hope it works and am following you to see how this plays out. But things like the pool are indicative of potential problems. If they can't fill the ship with residents soon I am afraid it will get more difficult to keep things running.
I was only worried about the age of ship and if fixing it was possible with all variables....I have loved that that worry is not the case and it is simply all the exciting things you shared here. I have always loved the the option is being tried...i do not know about the failure but I do know about luxury cruises and the luxury i think it is the Residency?? and it is all about choices and what finances one can create and time and variety one wants and can handle before just nothing matters due to... too much going on as well as too little. This is/will be a whole educational psychological and business and travel and lifestyle series with your backgrounds and thanks so much for sharing...you are very calming rational people. This is extremely important. Sorting out these decicions for "best parts" of our lives. I just loved French in HS...I was rural so was able to take in only 2 years in HS and then took it in undergrad and studied abroad in Normandy and lived with a home stay family.. in 1980...I then had 3 back to back tours...two and the final one with by then Budget American Express and the final one with a complany called Contiki for 18 to 35. all of it..studying there during Iranian hostage crisis annd problems during that, joys and problems licing with a French family and then the travels and weekends and spring break I handled myself started it all for me...I think I'd be suprised how I could surpass my current French level and where I ended and the best was is travelling and tryung to xummunicate as you know..these programs are terrific and will do when time at least in French,,,when I went back i was suprised what came back. thank you so much for all you share...ir is just fantastic...On anothe note...i love the colors of your cabin...lots of nice neutrals and some pretty real wood accents...have a great evening.

I love travel and ocean travel is my favorite. I think that residential cruising is such an incredible experience and I love virtually experiencing it. I have no need to go into anything negative…it doesn’t make sense to focus on anything negative when I’m along for the virtual fun. Keep up the adventure and keep sharing the fun.
The two problems for me were - 1. via a letter to Backroad Tourist, they said they didn't lie about having virtual windows because TV's can double as virtual windows! If I went on a cruise that said it had a virtual window (which is always in addition to the TV and positioned so as to look like a window) and they said they really meant the TV, I'd ask for my money back. 2. They knew they had 40 + things to fix that could take several months with lots of inspections along the way but chose to lie and say "Maybe tomorrow" etc, when in reality they knew only a handful of things were completed so they wouldn't be sea ready for months. Things change, especially in start up ups and in cruising, but there is no need for the VVO to blantantly lie.
And? That still is not a good justification for the actual hate people have shown for VV and even toward people who say positive things about the company. Hate is just plain over the top and reveals more about the hater than the thing or person being hated. If everybody said things like you just did, it would be a pleasant discussion. It’s quite reasonable to not want to buy a cabin, and also reasonable to buy one.
@collectingCraz25 we don’t agree with describing it as a lie. You don’t know what’s in their hearts, while we have actually met these people. But you are entitled to your opinion.
Villa Vie is a great concept in travel. People are getting too mean about growing pains and as the people that run things navigate the bureaucracies of the world it will get even better. If the people on VV are happy, that is all that counts. I plan to retire in about 1 year and may be a visitor on board or a resident if I get the courage.

You make a lot of great observations. I find this more and more on Facebook when especially political groups or people are just totally to one side and then just spewing out hatred all over the place it’s really pulls you in and you feel like you have to defend what you believe in so just based on what you said I’m not gonna do that anymore. It’s not my job to straighten these people out, but I think you’re telling real solid observations and real solid ideas and real solid ways to have solutions. Great video. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent entry….very well explained, jealousy is part of negativity…many people will never have the resources for such a lifestyle, it’s unfortunately the way the world works…I have been a fan and supporter of VV from the gate, researched a cabin but hit a dead end due to the cat limit of 10…I did admittedly go a bit negative when another YT station got a cease and desist letter from VV…I had been following along from the beginning and didn’t see anything that I considered slander …It turns out, that the You Tuber in question went down every point VV had made and was not really inaccurate in any of his claims…The immediate attempt to silence left a bad taste in my mouth… All that being said, keep up the good work, and hopefully one day we will meet up on deck…🎉
A good video (as always)! I love Duolingo. I live in a Spanish speaking country, and it has really helped me. Some people are just downright mean and sometimes hateful. I don't know what their problem is. But I think some feel the VVR owners have been dishonest. I have read that they knew the ship was not ship ready to go to Antarctica, that it wasn't seaworthy to make that journey and that it didn't have the certifications for doing that. I don't know if that's true or false, and I don't really care. I am not onboard, so it doesn't affect me. It is up to you and the other residents to find out the truth about whatever the problem is in reference to anything. All I know is I really love watching your videos, as well as a few other vloggers. I think you are straightforward, reasonable, and responsible. Keep up the good work!! 😁

Once again an excellent video. Totally agree that now there are so many RUclips channels that want to increase their profit from their videos by posting an inflammatory headline. Often the headline is so overblown to what the video is actually about that I simply drop the subscription. “ Why I quit RUclips because of I was afraid for my life” - does not mean I am taking a week off because the weather is rainy. I think explosive comments that will generate activity are often created my the channel itself. And any channel that just shows a random picture and an AI voice over that’s a clear no for me. One of the reasons I love your channel is if the headline says “ our Panama Canal experience” I’m going to see your Panama Canal experience. People with nasty, negative comments 🤷🏼♀️. Why bother? If a channel ends up being something I don’t enjoy or agree with I just move on. But if I like a channel and have an idea I think might help I might add it to the comments. I don’t try and regulate other people. Life’s too short.

I've had so much anxiety lately and its so nice to find content that feels " safe" in a sea of "rage baiting". I know when I find The One of your videos that I could just sit back.Play some games on my phone and listen to something that's not gonna evoke any kind of emotional response for me other than enjoyment. Honestly, I haven't heard of any on time launches for any cruising ventures much less residential cruises. I would say living on any moving vehicle of any sort requires residents be flexible. That said folks must always do their own risk assessment and start-ups are risky. Seriously though this isn't worth hating - why stress yourself out for such a pointless reason? If they don't own a villa why would it be any of the hater's business? It reminds me of the clique gossip circles from back in high school.

I can tell by reading the comments you have gotten some hate. I totally disagree with them. It has come to the point that you are defending (even though you should not have to) your decision to buy in and the life you are enjoying. There will always be haters but I feel like you did a fantastic job with your explanations. I want to see VV thrive, for all of you who took the risk and bought into a start up. All the naysayers are trying to accomplish IMHO is to drag it down so they can say look it failed! We knew it all along. I hope people who are considering buying in look to your video instead of just the negative videos. Great job as always!
There are a lot of people who are failures in their lives and they want to see everyone who is doing well and enjoying their lives fail as they themselves have. They could just keep their opinions and negativity to themselves and watch wringing their hands for you to be as miserable as they are, but they love the attention they bring to themselves, good or bad. There are thousands of us who appreciate you and admire your choices in life. I love your vids, keep it up!
I enjoy hearing both the positives and negatives on the venture. I never get too stuck on either and don't take any of it to heart or as gospel. A balanced approach is best but happy that all issues are out there so we can judge. Actually think it's good for the brand too because it gives them publicity and makes it easy for people to see the nuances beforehand so they go into it with an open mind instead of all dreamy and expecting perfection. I came across the brand after hearing negative information about them and then consciously looked for more stuff out there because I knew there would be two sides to the story.
Once again you have made an excellent video. I agree 100%. I quit watching a certain channel because the guy was trying to create content by passing along gossip and stealing other’s content to get viewers for himself. He says he wishes well for villa vie but that is hog wash! He doesn’t book a room on board the ship to see for himself, but seems to relish any new negative gossip that he comes across. That being said, there are miserable , negative people everywhere and they will choose to complain and seem happy doing so trying to make others miserable too!

Hate is subjective. Ville Vie Residences has not been accused (as far as I know) of being illegitimate. However, it's poor business practice to attempt to suppress or sway opinion. I love what they're trying to accomplish here, I would not buy a cabin since I don't care for the companies ethics on transparency. Once again, buyer beware. If you're comfortable doing business with them, then do so, if you're not, don't.

I actually follow a few vloggers on ville vie so when i read something a little disturbing it is to you both i go to check out the truth and i am sure i am not the only one who thinks this. I am sure they are some people who want negative press to be created for ville vie and love the upset it causes but most of us just want to go along for the adventure and see wonderful sites places and animals. History is my thing so i love it when you visit historic areas and tell us lots of fabulous information. I have loved the glaciers that many people have posted but i cant think anyone has captured that amazing blue colour of the ice as it must be to see it in person. I’ve commented on this on another bloggers you tube channel who just seems to post negatives straplines in order to get clicks. Of course this plays well with the haters who have stated it’s going bust, everyone is going to lose their money, those running the line are more or less called crooks. No thought for those passengers and crew which I find disgusting. These people shoukd be ashamed of themselves.

I have seen very, very few people who actually *hate* Villa Vie. What I see very frequently is commentary from people who are *disappointed* in Villa Vie. They wanted so much to think it was going to be great, to do everything it said it was going to do... and then they saw -- over and over again -- evidence that this wasn't happening.
Well, of course that's going to be disappointing. I'm sure that it disappointed many people on board the Odyssey, too. (Just read Joe Rhodes' most recent blog post, for an example of that.)
As you point out, this kind of thing has been attempted before. It's only succeeded once, and that only worked by charging an exorbitant amount for the residences -- prices that no ordinary person could even seriously dream of affording.
So, when Villa Vie came along and looked as though it would actually reach the point of sailing, there were sky-high expectations... expectations that Villa Vie encouraged strongly, advertising all the things they were going to have on the ship, from kitchens for residents to cook their own food to a virtual golf system.
Like many startups, there were a lot of missteps, as you point out yourself. And with those sky-high expectations set, missteps were inevitably going to disappoint.
The eventual result, once the whole thing has finally sailed and is shaking down into a routine, has turned into a respectable, modest company that does the basics and is (as you also point out) still struggling a bit, but it's getting by. This, as far as I'm concerned, looks pretty good. Even if all the Odyssey does is to get you from point A to point B in safety and reasonable comfort while taking you to a lot of places around the world, at prices normal people can afford... well, that's a damn fine deal in my eyes.
Villa Vie hasn't met its marketing expectations, and that's a fact. Some people will find that fact disappointing. Villa Vie has also put a residential ship on the water and has it running. That's also a fact. Many people are going to find that fact fantastic, and not worry about the missed expectations along the way.
Finally, I want to say one more thing: Villa Vie has been *desperately* trying to stop anyone from saying negative things about it, to the point of threatening people who complain. According to some residents or former residents, they've been threatened with eviction or even assault for speaking negatively about the company; non-residents have been threatened with lawsuits.
There is no excuse for threats. Villa Vie management should be ashamed of them. And the information has come from way too many different sources for me to think there's the slightest chance that those threats didn't actually happen.
So I wish Villa Vie would grow a much, much thicker skin about disappointed people who point out that they didn't meet the expectations that they set with their early marketing. They didn't, and that's simply a fact; but it's also a fact that most of us recognize how much of an achievement it is that they've done what they *did* do. Villa Vie can afford to ignore the negative voices, and would be much better off both ethically and practically if it learns to do so.
Give it up, move on with your life. Let other people have their fun.

There are two ways you can read the threat, of course: one is the way Joe claims -- likely somewhat tongue in cheek -- to have treated it: as a literal, physical statement that they would lift him bodily and toss him overboard; and the other as meaning that they'd do to him what they did to two people already (retracting one afterwards) and force him to leave the ship. It's possible that Mr. Robert Fong, who according to Rhodes was the speaker above, meant the second. But with somebody coming up yelling in the heat of the moment, I don't think it's unreasonable not to be sure. I'm quite certain that they wouldn't have *actually* thrown anybody overboard, but much less certain that Mr. Fong wouldn't have *said* they were going to, in the heat of anger. In fact, I'm not entirely certain that Mr. Fong necessarily knew in the moment which one he meant either.
And honestly? If, out of everything I wrote above, this is the ONLY thing you have an answer for, then you are grasping at straws to make any critic look bad. I am an exceptionally mild critic -- I actually think the Odyssey sounds pretty great, even if they haven't pulled off everything they said they were going to. And I've said so at considerable length and detail.
The ONE thing I have said they really need to change is to stop being as touchy about criticism as they have so far been... and you ignore both my cheerleading and my cautious criticism to focus in on ONE quarter-sentence that you think you might be able to challenge successfully?? That kind of proves my point, I'm afraid.
I, for one, absolutely love your channel! The content and topics you share are fantastic. I've never been on a cruise (I have a fear of big water) but the information the two of you provide regarding the Villa Vie have me seriously considering this lifestyle when my husband and I retire. I know, I know... baby steps...but I have to start somewhere, and your channel is perfect for all of the details we need to consider. Thank you so much for all of your hard work!

The one issue that seems to on the rise with RUclips is people making comments without considering how it may impact another. I have stopped making comments (obviously decided some feedback here would be respected) as some people with either a limited education or just like to be disagreeable respond (in my opinion) inappropriately. Issue is no accountability or responsibility for their behaviour. Please continue this aspect of your channel as it is so refreshing to have your experience from your perspective. Like any start up it takes time to resolve issues and hopefully parts will be available to fix broken components or if need be totally replaced. Hate is a strong word. To those of us who knew (and loved) the ship, the description of a “luxury cruise ship” comprising “villas” raised some eyebrows. People were bound to be sceptical about such grandiose claims and speculate how else buyers were being misled.
I don’t believe anyone is jealous, that’s a lazy interpretation. But I do think critics need to let go now, the residents are happy, and it’s their lives and their money.

As others have said, I don't understand the haters either if they aren't even on the ship and don't have firsthand knowledge. I've watched several different residents in the Villa Vie and if they are happy, then why do people try to bring them down? You talked honestly about your move to a new cabin and I love to hear about your adventures! For goodness sake, I belong to a group about OATMEAL and people are vicious over there so there are downer people everywhere 😂 so don't let them bother you.

Your opening screen is hilarious. I see the Villa Vie as a shared dream of the founders and the residents. A shared dose of risk as well. As the problems kept coming with the launch, the management seemed to put their heads down and push on. They didn't give up, and neither did the residents, a shared success. 'The World' has been succesfully cruising for many years. The difference is the VVR is being attempted at a much lower revenue stream. I hope it works and am following you to see how this plays out. But things like the pool are indicative of potential problems. If they can't fill the ship with residents soon I am afraid it will get more difficult to keep things running.

I have always loved the the option is being tried...i do not know about the failure but I do know about luxury cruises and the luxury i think it is the Residency?? and it is all about choices and what finances one can create and time and variety one wants and can handle before just nothing matters due to... too much going on as well as too little. This is/will be a whole educational psychological and business and travel and lifestyle series with your backgrounds and thanks so much for sharing...you are very calming rational people. This is extremely important. Sorting out these decicions for "best parts" of our lives. I just loved French in HS...I was rural so was able to take in only 2 years in HS and then took it in undergrad and studied abroad in Normandy and lived with a home stay family.. in 1980...I then had 3 back to back tours...two and the final one with by then Budget American Express and the final one with a complany called Contiki for 18 to 35. all of it..studying there during Iranian hostage crisis annd problems during that, joys and problems licing with a French family and then the travels and weekends and spring break I handled myself started it all for me...I think I'd be suprised how I could surpass my current French level and where I ended and the best was is travelling and tryung to xummunicate as you know..these programs are terrific and will do when time at least in French,,,when I went back i was suprised what came back. thank you so much for all you share...ir is just fantastic...On anothe note...i love the colors of your cabin...lots of nice neutrals and some pretty real wood accents...have a great evening.

I love travel and ocean travel is my favorite. I think that residential cruising is such an incredible experience and I love virtually experiencing it. I have no need to go into anything negative…it doesn’t make sense to focus on anything negative when I’m along for the virtual fun. Keep up the adventure and keep sharing the fun.

The two problems for me were - 1. via a letter to Backroad Tourist, they said they didn't lie about having virtual windows because TV's can double as virtual windows!
If I went on a cruise that said it had a virtual window (which is always in addition to the TV and positioned so as to look like a window) and they said they really meant the TV, I'd ask for my money back.
2. They knew they had 40 + things to fix that could take several months with lots of inspections along the way but chose to lie and say "Maybe tomorrow" etc, when in reality they knew only a handful of things were completed so they wouldn't be sea ready for months.
Things change, especially in start up ups and in cruising, but there is no need for the VVO to blantantly lie.
And? That still is not a good justification for the actual hate people have shown for VV and even toward people who say positive things about the company. Hate is just plain over the top and reveals more about the hater than the thing or person being hated. If everybody said things like you just did, it would be a pleasant discussion. It’s quite reasonable to not want to buy a cabin, and also reasonable to buy one.
@collectingCraz25 we don’t agree with describing it as a lie. You don’t know what’s in their hearts, while we have actually met these people. But you are entitled to your opinion.
Villa Vie is a great concept in travel. People are getting too mean about growing pains and as the people that run things navigate the bureaucracies of the world it will get even better. If the people on VV are happy, that is all that counts. I plan to retire in about 1 year and may be a visitor on board or a resident if I get the courage.

Excellent entry….very well explained, jealousy is part of negativity…many people will never have the resources for such a lifestyle, it’s unfortunately the way the world works…I have been a fan and supporter of VV from the gate, researched a cabin but hit a dead end due to the cat limit of 10…I did admittedly go a bit negative when another YT station got a cease and desist letter from VV…I had been following along from the beginning and didn’t see anything that I considered slander …It turns out, that the You Tuber in question went down every point VV had made and was not really inaccurate in any of his claims…The immediate attempt to silence left a bad taste in my mouth…
All that being said, keep up the good work, and hopefully one day we will meet up on deck…🎉

A good video (as always)! I love Duolingo. I live in a Spanish speaking country, and it has really helped me. Some people are just downright mean and sometimes hateful. I don't know what their problem is. But I think some feel the VVR owners have been dishonest. I have read that they knew the ship was not ship ready to go to Antarctica, that it wasn't seaworthy to make that journey and that it didn't have the certifications for doing that. I don't know if that's true or false, and I don't really care. I am not onboard, so it doesn't affect me. It is up to you and the other residents to find out the truth about whatever the problem is in reference to anything. All I know is I really love watching your videos, as well as a few other vloggers. I think you are straightforward, reasonable, and responsible. Keep up the good work!! 😁

Once again an excellent video. Totally agree that now there are so many RUclips channels that want to increase their profit from their videos by posting an inflammatory headline. Often the headline is so overblown to what the video is actually about that I simply drop the subscription. “ Why I quit RUclips because of I was afraid for my life” - does not mean I am taking a week off because the weather is rainy. I think explosive comments that will generate activity are often created my the channel itself. And any channel that just shows a random picture and an AI voice over that’s a clear no for me. One of the reasons I love your channel is if the headline says “ our Panama Canal experience” I’m going to see your Panama Canal experience. People with nasty, negative comments 🤷🏼♀️. Why bother? If a channel ends up being something I don’t enjoy or agree with I just move on. But if I like a channel and have an idea I think might help I might add it to the comments. I don’t try and regulate other people. Life’s too short.

I've had so much anxiety lately and its so nice to find content that feels " safe" in a sea of "rage baiting". Honestly, I haven't heard of any on time launches for any cruising ventures much less residential cruises. I would say living on any moving vehicle of any sort requires residents be flexible. That said folks must always do their own risk assessment and start-ups are risky. Seriously though this isn't worth hating - why stress yourself out for such a pointless reason? If they don't own a villa why would it be any of the hater's business? It reminds me of the clique gossip circles from back in high school.

I can tell by reading the comments you have gotten some hate. I totally disagree with them. It has come to the point that you are defending (even though you should not have to) your decision to buy in and the life you are enjoying. There will always be haters but I feel like you did a fantastic job with your explanations. I want to see VV thrive, for all of you who took the risk and bought into a start up. All the naysayers are trying to accomplish IMHO is to drag it down so they can say look it failed! We knew it all along. There are a lot of people who are failures in their lives and they want to see everyone who is doing well and enjoying their lives fail as they themselves have. I enjoy hearing both the positives and negatives on the venture. I never get too stuck on either and don't take any of it to heart or as gospel. A balanced approach is best but happy that all issues are out there so we can judge. Actually think it's good for the brand too because it gives them publicity and makes it easy for people to see the nuances beforehand so they go into it with an open mind instead of all dreamy and expecting perfection. I came across the brand after hearing negative information about them and then consciously looked for more stuff out there because I knew there would be two sides to the story.

Once again you have made an excellent video. I agree 100%. I quit watching a certain channel because the guy was trying to create content by passing along gossip and stealing other’s content to get viewers for himself. He says he wishes well for villa vie but that is hog wash! He doesn’t book a room on board the ship to see for himself, but seems to relish any new negative gossip that he comes across. That being said, there are miserable , negative people everywhere and they will choose to complain and seem happy doing so trying to make others miserable too!

Hate is subjective. Ville Vie Residences has not been accused (as far as I know) of being illegitimate. However, it's poor business practice to attempt to suppress or sway opinion. I love what they're trying to accomplish here, I would not buy a cabin since I don't care for the companies ethics on transparency. Once again, buyer beware. If you're comfortable doing business with them, then do so, if you're not, don't.

I am sure they are some people who want negative press to be created for ville vie and love the upset it causes but most of us just want to go along for the adventure and see wonderful sites places and animals. History is my thing so i love it when you visit historic areas and tell us lots of fabulous information. I have loved the glaciers that many people have posted but i cant think anyone has captured that amazing blue colour of the ice as it must be to see it in person. However you are addressing the issues in such a calm and logical manner. I’m sure you get a lot more really mean comments which you probably don’t show on this site. Thanks for not showing them because I’m here for to vicariously enjoy your experience living on a residential ship. Life does not always go the way we want it to, and IMO, it’s best to acknowledge that and just move on.

I’ve commented on this on another bloggers you tube channel who just seems to post negatives straplines in order to get clicks. Of course this plays well with the haters who have stated it’s going bust, everyone is going to lose their money, those running the line are more or less called crooks. No thought for those passengers and crew which I find disgusting. These people shoukd be ashamed of themselves.
