Today's version of tithing from earned wages carries no biblical precedent. There's no such thing as a biblical, compulsory tithe received from monetary income and neither God nor Jesus ever asked anyone for their money. Monetizing the tithe as a deliverable was man's idea after the Bible was written. The "Kingdom of God" imposes no obligation on anyone to continuously pay 10% of their money to a religious organization and there's no biblical promise of any type of "blessing" for doing so either. Giving is another matter, but we're free to do so not under compulsion as we feel led and as we're able, money or otherwise, to a church otherwise.
