I think MingJue hated Wei Ying the least out of all clan leaders. I mean later on in the story. Let's be honest, Wei Ying was such a badass, both in use of magic and in use of weapons. That damned jealous and hypocritical cultivation world killed him.
The persecution of the innocent members of the Wen clan made me so angry (and their eventual deaths made me cry). I love this show and I love how Wei WuXian protected them no matter what.
The hypocrisy of the people tormenting the innocent Wens is infuriating. They commit the same wrongs as the people they fought to overthrow and call themselves righteous for it.

In the book, Lan Zhan kisses Wei Ying after this epic archery moment. Wei Ying keeps the bindfold on and wanders into the forest. He finds a tree upon which he rests. Not long after, Lan Zhan finds him, grabs his wrists, holds them against the tree and kisses him quite fiercly. He also takes the flower Wei Ying had attached to the robes, on the chest. Some time later, Wei Ying wanders into the forest, only to find a very angry Lan Zhan, cutting a whole bunch of trees. Wei Ying asks what's wrong, but Lan Zhan is still angry and tries to get away from Wei Ying. Lan Zhan was in fact angry at himself (aka gay panic mode 😂) because he kissed Wei Ying (apparently not a consensual kiss in his opinion).
At 6:35 the mood transition from a badass to a soft baby as he looked at yanli... OMG this man's duality is insane *biting lips intensely * 😽😻

@@IvanIsYda_ Sadly, I'm not sure Xichen realises it, at least in the book. He only noticed his manners had changed for the worse... WY's story is so tragic, but at the end of the day, he and LZ are the only ones living happily ever after, while everyone else in the older generation has to pay for their evil deeds/lack of action
@@AnzuBrief indeed but Xichen was also a victim of the situation. Granted, he was ignorant of it all, he still suffered. And Cheng too. Yes, Cheng is an arrogant, self-doubtful, insecure, hot-headed guy but given the circumstance, he is also a pitiful character. The kids also, especially Jin Ling and Sizhui.
I can’t stop watching this scene, I can’t get over Untamed. Wei Ying’s become my all time favourite character. He’s fair, brave, fearless, smart, kind and gentle. Just perfect❤️

Tbh as much as I love The Untamed, I'm still sad that they changed Wei Ying's character a lot from the original novel and the other adaptions of the series as he is my favourite character as well.
This was one of my favorite scenes in the book---he kept the blindfold on as he sat under the tree and was kissed by an unknown person and we find out toward the end of the book who that person was--they should have included that scene in the live action drama, but perhaps it was too controversial for Chinese censorship.

@@Danny-uh8rb Lan Wangji (Lanzhan), the person that had secretly loved him since their youth, admits this toward the end of the book, as they are leaving the temple.
The Chinese Gov Censors would only 'allow' this to be shown as a soulmate friendship bromance instead. But the people who wrote the screenplay, filmed and edited the movie to those requirements to do that left enough things in it to let us know that it was really a romance instead.

Yes, I know of the censorship--the author of the book (and Scum Villian and Heaven's Official Blessing) was put in jail, because of The Untamed creating a big market for these types of shows and only got out of jail around May and then in August, Amazon began printing her books.

I read about how just in the last year even stricter entertainment rules are out now by the Chinese government too. They also don't want portrayals of 'idol sissy men' anymore in movies, TV, music world, etc. That was the words the articles claimed the Chinese government used, not me.
They will also 'cancel' someone ie actor, etc, if they get mad of course. Done it to a few already. I'm not talking about putting them in jail, just making them invisible to viewers and fans.
I think there will be a lot less series like The Untamed out there now.

Around 6:52 - 6:53 when JGY says that this was just to warm you up and then they show wwx and lwj, wwx's expression was clear and loud enough to understand but i just today noticed that even lwj also gave (felt) same feeling as wwx but it was soooo subtle that hardly anyone can notice it. I had to see that part multiple times. Even then i still question "did he really do it!?". HE DID IT AND ITS SOOOO SUBTLE.
