I cut the "tabs" off the wrist pin clips if I have to use AM. Less mass & less likely to come out, but also always use OEM's that have NO tab or tail , they hold spring tension better, especially on saw that venture near 14k no load. I've also seen the spark plug "tips" break off the chicom plugs and rattle around
I'm going back with Husky clips, I have never had trouble with them, 6 bucks each😮 I'm also going back with oem piston, more video to come on this... I think what happened is where Aaron clipped them it made a weak spot and one of them broke because half of that one is still in there and you can see marking on the wrist pin boss where it started coming out. Saw clicked a couple days before it popped but I thought it was external in the clutch 😂
Enjoyed the video Timberslasher and the shops looking great. Sorry to hear about your broken toes. That's gotta make it rough walking up and those hills. Aaron will get that chainsaw back up and running....👍🤙
@@cajun3197 yea it will be 3 weeks tuesday.... I'm about ready to start on that 460 in a week or two. Jon Bob is making me a set of mandrels. Aaron informed me that the squish and the piston top both have to be cut to go to a 272 piston. I can use my uncle's lathe on the squish but I would rather have more lathe practice first....lol. I have never been a machinist. I will cut that piston on the lathe but I will cut the squish by hand for now. I don't want to ruin an oem cylinder😬 I wiped the Husky dealer out on oem 272 piston sets at 45 bucks each out the door!
Makes it rough walking up and down those hills with broken toes. Hopefully you heal up soon.
I appreciate it, they are improving bit by bit..

Thanks man! Can't do much about broken toes but deal with them...

Hope. That foot is feeling better now
I can get my work boots on now so that's progress. You know how toes are, they don't bother you much unless you get on uneven terrain.
@@timberslasher4899 glad it’s getting better at least

@@timberslasher4899 you can just cut the band and use a thicker gasket. You don’t have to cut the piston. That’s just the way Aaron does it
Was the clip still in it or just broken? Clip problems are usually a sign of spark knock. It will bend the pin just enough to push the lock out.
It was broken in half. Those Chinese clips are famous for breaking. The 6 dollar each oem Husky are going back in 😂
Yep id say she ate the tang off the clip
Yea that is the only metal that was missing that it could have been...lol
That’s never good and dang that’s sucks bout your toes
Yea bout all you can do is deal with them and not bang them again 🤬🤬
