another thing i just noticed about that scene too is that you can see that theo runs a different path than all the other hardie boys and its actually the smarter path because it doesn't lead to a bottleneck and dead end and he would be harder to hit running parallel instead of s straight back right along the two mercenaries line of fire. Which is something I find interesting because earlier in the game when you first meet the hardie boys theo is portrayed as the experienced older person of the group that people don't mess with because he knows his stuff (and i also think the game mentions or insinuates that theo was the original leader of the hardie boys or holds a lot of sway of them and their actions because of his experience) and this small detail back that up.
Not sure it's a tradeoff I'd choose over the tie's finest scene though. But then again, if I were to choose between one over the other, I don't think I can.

Harry is a very damaged genius, but a genius nevertheless. He can work out things from the smallest details and track them back to their source, he can peel open cover stories like tin cans and as Kim can testify, he never gives up. Plus there's just the fact that he may be getting insights from "something" otherworldly. He can look at a line of bullet holes and see not only the victims, but the firing squad and the commanding officer, just as they were, the moment FIRE was called. He knew that woman's husband was missing before she was even ready to admit it herself. He speaks to corpses and they offer him truths. The city itself speaks to him, offering him secrets and warnings he seems to have no rational way of knowing. Harry's mind has to move fast, it's the only way he could possibly keep up with it all.

I would actually be very interested in that essay on this video's creation, if you were ever possessed to make one. This was a really cool video to watch, and I'm sure I'll be back next week to see it again.
i watch this video daily,, the editing,, all the chosen scenes and voice lines are so perfect,, its all so so superb there's so many elements that i adore so much its unreal,, you captured the game so beautifully!! its a perfect summary of the overarching feelings the game envokes thank you so much for making this!!
He more than deserves it. Detective. Arriving. On the scene. It's the *only* moment where the voices in his head come together to say it, the only moment where they agree on something. All the other times they are at odds with each other, each one giving Harry its own perspective. But that part, they come together to say it. It's the one immutable fact about him; he *is* a good detective, the human can-opener, who manages to get people to open up to him, and to crack the most difficult cases; as you find out later, before his bender, he was the best detective in his precinct.
18 TIMES WATCHED IN 2 WEEKS. I want people to watch this to get them in to the game!... but really it makes me want to force friends to play this game so I can show them this. Used to make AMVs as a kid . I think I know how much vision went in to this. And that feeling when you nail a great visual with the drops in the music, and the the narrator overlay. It's soooooo good. I love this because It feels like you loved making this. it comes through. Thank you. it's awesome yo!
Your work is so breathtaking that i am still coming back to it from time to time And it still makes me so impressed Music, moments, words, everything..
For me the most beautiful moments in the game are very small and hard to get. There are so many little moments like that in the game depends on which way you build Harry. Some moments were too personal for me, like this one: SPOILERS AHEAD. For example my moment was on the island at the end, if you dont sleep in the bunker and go to the coast behind it at the first place, next to the big chain, that goes into the sea from some other destroyed bunker literally on the edge of that island. If you have very high Inland Empire, Shivers, Volition and Perception, you found the pants called Pour L'Homme Labourer Jeans and Apricot Chewing Gum Wrapper, interacted with it, got and internalized thought Apricot Chewing Gum Scented One, you have that thought dialogue: INLAND EMPIRE: - A strange feeling... looking at the water. Maybe you should wander off into the sea? Leave it all and walk in... ELECTROCHEMISTRY: - With a bottle in your hand. - "A bottle in my hand?" - Always. "Why?" INLAND EMPIRE: - Perhaps there's someone there? Under the water. Waiting for you. SHIVERS: - In front of the video rental on the corner. At the crossing... PERSEPTION: - Smelling of Tutti Frutti and betrayal. PAIN THRESHOLD: - Baby, you know it's going to hurt. "But it's cold..." INLAND EMPIRE: - Yes -- cold and still. But love is warm, like inside of her mouth. - "No-no-no-no" - Yes, yes, yes, yes. VOLITION: - No-no, we're not starting with that. Not now. Not this time. This thought is over. Raise your sight. INLAND EMPIRE: - In the snowing mirrors of the bay you see Martinaise, reflected. Tall edifices of ruins reach into the water, like shimmering towers. And the shacks too. Pine trees and moto lorries, upside down... Islets and posts like stepping stones lead into the water in front of you. Go. Step in... it's been too long. [Shake your head] The entire vibe, the La Revacholiere ost, the knowledge, that its almost the end. its just... oof.
This is actually somehow nostalgic for me. Reminds me of how Toonami used to do hype promos, splicing music with selective dialogue from its shows. Very well done.
Although I spend a lot of time reading the comments on RUclips, I rarely write my own cuz reasons. Simply put, this video has been a pleasure. I'm literally crazy about this video
Same
i need everybody in my life to be suddenly aware of this yk. it's driving me insane. so so good
This video has a vast soul and I will always return to it.
Goddamn this is amazing, sent chills down my spine just as in my first playthrough feeling like a mess and just going at it with sheer will
Insanely good edit, you really managed to show the vibe of the game. Cant get enough of it!
i know its been years but, DETECTIVE
ARRIVING
ON THE SCENE
I come back to this video every month or so, it's just perfect - the cuts, the choice of music and visuals... It evokes such strong emotions in me because only a person who truly loves the game could've made such a GOOD edit. Thank you, I hope this video never leaves the internet!
Returning year later. Thanks again for introducing me to Alt - J, great band, An Awesome Wave is on my favourites playlist, even managed to see their concert
"this is a fight we can win"
Harry: dodge this plebs
And this is it, the one that convinced me to play this game
This is hands down the most beautiful tribute I've seen of this masterpiece game, you sir have moved me with this, subscribed.
This video really captures the soul of the game. I know that sounds corny. But I can't think of any other way to explain it. You really did an amazing job.
I don't think that's corny at all! I had the same feeling about it! (❁´◡`❁)
nah this is legitimately such good god damn editing. I never knew someone could do an amv/edit to disco elysium of all things but you managed it and its sooooooooooo good. holy cra p dude. i'm sending this to all my friends gosh
Can't stop rewatching this absolute banger. Guess it's time to replay Disco Elysium.
"You can...detect" You're GD right I can.
I don't quite know what genra of video these type's of edits are, but I'll never get sick of the. Puts me right back in the game, absolutely love it.
Time for another playthrough!
I would actually be very interested in that essay on this video's creation, if you were ever possessed to make one.
This was a really cool video to watch, and I'm sure I'll be back next week to see it again.
I have watched this a solid hundred times.
Calling...Callling...Still Calling...Then the Ocean breaks
I legit went weak in the knees, well done brov
Got a „Sunrise Parabellum“ Tattoo cause of this video. This game should be used as a therapy substitute
Badass
i watch this video daily,, the editing,, all the chosen scenes and voice lines are so perfect,, its all so so superb there's so many elements that i adore so much its unreal,, you captured the game so beautifully!! its a perfect summary of the overarching feelings the game envokes thank you so much for making this!!
Thank you!
“This is it I’ve finally gone insane.”
I'm watching this in a loud place, then - a sudden realization comes: i must watch it again, when nothing will disstract me
Thank you for finally getting this back up. This was REALLY good work detective.
Это лучший фан-мейд эдит, который я только видел. Идея с телефоном - моё почтение.
Still keep coming back to this video, absolute masterpiece
I gotta say, this is insane edit.
Each detail and every sec is goddam goosebumps.
Very very well editing.
This is so good. I love this video so much, you did a wonderful job.
Straight up goddamn chills down my spine... Shivers.
Sunrise Parabellum. Makes me feel a little bit more motivated for one of "Those" days
I come back to this every now and then, to remember...
I come back to this every couple of months. Absolutely amazing
I watch this all the time now; generally while on break at work. Thank you for this montage. I love this game so much.
This goes so fucking hard, legitimately the best edit I've ever seen
Every day at 10pm, I watch this. It's just this good.
this remains one of my favorite edits.
This is one of my favorite songs and my favorite game at one place. I can't explain how much I love it, thank you so much for this art.
Oh god this was so brilliantly made. I played the game before the full voice acted edition. God, I guess I have to play it again!
You owe it to yourself to play the final cut edition
Probably the best trailer this game could ask for maybe the music is a bit too loud
SUNRISE, PARABELLUM!! This edit was AMAZING, and far cooler than anything Harry deserves.
What you mean by that?
He more than deserves it.
Detective. Arriving. On the scene.
It's the *only* moment where the voices in his head come together to say it, the only moment where they agree on something. All the other times they are at odds with each other, each one giving Harry its own perspective. But that part, they come together to say it. It's the one immutable fact about him; he *is* a good detective, the human can-opener, who manages to get people to open up to him, and to crack the most difficult cases; as you find out later, before his bender, he was the best detective in his precinct.
A new game to add to the collection :3, great editing as always
Rewached this like 10 times in a row. This is a masterpiece
honestly one of my favourite edits of all time. gives me chills everytime I watch it
I think this is the coolest video on youtube
18 TIMES WATCHED IN 2 WEEKS.
I want people to watch this to get them in to the game!... but really it makes me want to force friends to play this game so I can show them this.
Used to make AMVs as a kid . I think I know how much vision went in to this. And that feeling when you nail a great visual with the drops in the music, and the the narrator overlay. It's soooooo good.
I love this because It feels like you loved making this. it comes through. Thank you. it's awesome yo!
This is probably the best Disco Elysium edit I've seen, I keep coming back to it! Great work man
Your work is so breathtaking that i am still coming back to it from time to time
And it still makes me so impressed
Music, moments, words, everything..
SHIVERS [Legendary: Success]
"Time to get to work." will always be one of the most chilling phrases in videogame history. The phasmid encounter is art.
For me the most beautiful moments in the game are very small and hard to get. There are so many little moments like that in the game depends on which way you build Harry. Some moments were too personal for me, like this one:
SPOILERS AHEAD.
For example my moment was on the island at the end, if you dont sleep in the bunker and go to the coast behind it at the first place, next to the big chain, that goes into the sea from some other destroyed bunker literally on the edge of that island. If you have very high Inland Empire, Shivers, Volition and Perception, you found the pants called Pour L'Homme Labourer Jeans and Apricot Chewing Gum Wrapper, interacted with it, got and internalized thought Apricot Chewing Gum Scented One, you have that thought dialogue:
INLAND EMPIRE: - A strange feeling... looking at the water. Maybe you should wander off into the sea? Leave it all and walk in...
ELECTROCHEMISTRY: - With a bottle in your hand. - "A bottle in my hand?" - Always.
"Why?"
INLAND EMPIRE: - Perhaps there's someone there? Under the water. Waiting for you.
SHIVERS: - In front of the video rental on the corner. At the crossing...
PERSEPTION: - Smelling of Tutti Frutti and betrayal.
PAIN THRESHOLD: - Baby, you know it's going to hurt.
"But it's cold..."
INLAND EMPIRE: - Yes -- cold and still.
[Shake your head]
The entire vibe, the La Revacholiere ost, the knowledge, that its almost the end. its just... oof.
This is actually somehow nostalgic for me. Reminds me of how Toonami used to do hype promos, splicing music with selective dialogue from its shows. Very well done.
I never comment on vids but oh my GOD ??? what an absolute banger i was hooked from the beginning honestly great job
Although I spend a lot of time reading the comments on RUclips, I rarely write my own cuz reasons. Simply put, this video has been a pleasure. I love Disco Elysium and have been looking for this type of a skit for some time now, and man you have certainly delivered on that front. Good job, seriously!
This is god rank edit. Mercenary tribunal was so damn good, bro, i wanna shake your hand.
This video is the reason this alt J song is in my top 5 Spotify songs this year lmao
Glad this is back up!
I think narrativly, this is probably the greatest game ever created.
I’m coming back to this 2 years later to tell you this video is why I bought the game and had the goddamn time of my life playing it. Cheers for the stellar edit.
A brilliant edit for a brilliant game. Very well done!
ZA/UM should definitely pay attention to this masterpiece
Thank you for your incredible work!❤
Just when i thought i couldn't possibly love Disco Elysium more than I already do. This edit is fucking brilliant. Sent shivers down my spine.

Insanely well done.
This edit is literally perfect! Alt-J fits Disco elysium surprisingly well.
This video is legendary
