Doing these kind of mods does make a big difference! I have 2 cheaper guitars that I've done similar things to, that changed them from cheap to really nice players!👍😎🎸🎶
Looking forward to the next video. The painting should be interesting. If you have money left over check the neck designs at neck illusions, good price and very nice
I have a Starcaster Strat that has that same seemingly common problem with the wammy bar threads broken of in the trem block It seems that 'Every' Starcaster Strat I've seen has that same particular issue..I started my mod/upgrade project over a yr ago and I replaced the trem block with a full size brass replacement block. other mods/upgrades include ...roller saddles and string trees, locking tuners ...the custom layout of the electronics wired similar to a Les Paul .. still using a 5 way selector switch but adding ...3 quad rail humbuckers averaging 18.5 K ohms with 3 500 k p/p volume pots for coil splitting , 3 500k tone pots, .047 tone caps, a 12 pin spdt switch for bridge and neck p/ups together.with the other side of the sw. for the 5 piezo's on the trem block...custom paint job with super glossy clear coat buffed up to a glassy shine...a custom made polished stainless steel pick guard that I made myself ...6 chrome knobs and chrome switch tip. it's taking longer than I like as I have to budget for parts as I can plus waiting for them from amazon where I'm getting the majority of the parts....I'm getting close to finishing the pock guard I'm making myself from reclaimed stainless..not easy to work with ... gonna be a super cool Axe when I'm done with it..The 'Stellarcasater' with a spaced out paint job and out of this world tonal versatility. It may even get led light up pickup indicators but I'm still figuring out the wiring for those ...lol... we'll see...
Has the finished product and associated bideo been done? We bought the same guitar for my son from Costco when he was 7. Now he is 16 and is right into guitars and wants to mod his. Thanks for the videos.
In my experience fleor doesn't fit on better parts. For a similar price you could go with fender brand. You can get those roller saddles already on a bridge and save some extra cash.
It will be a fine guitar once you are finished! It would be nice if you had links on all the mods you purchased so others could benefit. When you do that, you could set up an Amazon affiliate page and you would benefit also!
Hey Kennis just stumbled on your channel and have watched most of your videos so far. I really think its awesome doing the giveaway for this guitar. I have a 20th Anniversery Squire Affinity with the 70's headstock that I would say is Super Modded. Emg 81tw bridge/89r neck push pull 3way pickups with solderless wiring and 3way switch,Fulltone 4prong stereo output jack,Fender string trees, graphtec tusqe nut,D'Aaddario 19-1 locking machines w/string trimmer, mint green pickguard and locking strap buttons. Of the my 3 guitars Its 2nd to my Jackson King V. I know in the dg20 emg video you said you wouldnt put high priced upgrades on your cheap guitar but I went all out on this $80 pawn shop gem and couldn't be happier! Seeing that I cant afford an American Strat my Squire has came through for me and plays as good as a Super Strat Japanese Fender I had in the 90's. I'm saving for an American Stratocaster neck for it next and yes I will let it be known that its a Squire body. I'm gonna sub your channel. Oh and 1 other thing Dont let the negative comments from your identifying the Strat video bother you (with the Shaller tuners). You obviously have heart and stable beliefs and that my friend truly matters. I think your doing a great job.👍
I need closure! Whatever happened to this series. I watched your survey video. Then I watched your 'buying' the parts. I don't see an receiving, unboxing, and installing of said parts. I also don't see a completed build with a demo of the finished project. And what about an announcement of the winner? What happened?
You should have upgraded the tremolo. The cheap zinc trems on these just make them no fun to play in my experience. No response or attack, and tone draining. A good wilkinson is only about 30 bucks
@@kennisrussell I haven't checked your about section or anything yet but do you have an email address maybe I could talk to you more. I love your Insight on things and I'm just building my whole first guitar ever I've always prepared them ever scored a couple but I'm going to start doing my first builds I like your Insight on things. I would love to have you check one out when I'm ready. I like how you don't allow any stigmas you're just critical where you should be critical and where you shouldn't be either. I'm definitely like in the video so I can't wait till I get some time to watch more I usually watch them while I'm working on guitars.
I kinda enjoyed having a 50/50 chance at that guitar for a short while, but I'm more glad that you got a bunch of folks supporting you.
I had a 1 in 12 chance when i joined.
Just my opinion, but if the winner doesn't pick 'Kender' for the logo, they are making a mistake.

Totally agree!
Did you ever do a follow-up video on the finished guitar??
This channel deserves much more subs. Just a dude talking about gear and having a good time, whats not to love!
I appreciate that!

Ok I’ll check it out. It’s going to stay black though.

I am excited to see how this works because I have that exact guitar 🎸 (Except my whammy bar isn't broken)
Good luck and happy playing Erybodys

Also looking for finished video
How fun! Excellent idea!
Nice shirt! I’ve been to that guitar shop a few times since they moved near the Star Furniture 😉
It’s a great little shop.
Kennis Russell Definitely. Have you tried the guitar center on 249?
Great Video Kennis, you are going to make some lucky person very happy! I agree with you graphtech products are great!
Is there a vid of the guitar being built or how it turned out?
New to the channel ... Great guitar geekiness!! Super fun
Rock on!
How did you get past the tuner holes only being 8mm?! I'm 0-3 against tuners or mounting

Awesome. Thanks
Kennis Russell hey I realised that this wasn’t my first time watching you I’ve watched some of your spotting fake fenders nice videos keep it up👍🏼
Ok so I’m an idiot? I started on patreon, and forgot to subscribe to your channel! Subscribed now! And I designed my headstock.... just in case!
I appreciate it. I would have found you if you won good luck.
It would have been interesting to see the demographic breakdown of everyone who voted.

Wow!
Love the channel
Thanks Joe. I appreciate that.
