I'd love to see you be a groundsman for the day. You're always appreciative of their efforts and I reckon you'd have even more respect for them once you give it a try yourself.
Really enjoyed the video - I've got to say the York City commentator really impressed me with the way he handled the 2nd goal, did a really good job building the moment up
I used to be one of those guys who worked for the local paper in Woking and sat in that press box! Dan and Connor are top lads as well as the rest who work at the club. Top video at a great club. Thank you.
Really enjoyed this video, I'm the Media Officer at Dagenham & Redbridge so I understand what Dan goes through on a matchday... So interesting to see how a different club at our level operates too.
Brilliant video Smiv. I volunteered last season at Exeter City after getting some work experience from Exeter College. It’s really good to see how Dan was able to progress through the ranks at Woking, inspirational for someone such as myself. Honestly brilliant video, Smiv.
I love this so much! I live in the states and I tend to pick my football manager saves based on which clubs I love most from your vids. Gonna definitely have to start one with Woking now!
York fan and been waiting for on the road up north 😂 also a budding sports journalist so this was a really cool video to watch Smiv. Keep up the good work and can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned on 2023. Hope everyone has a good new year 🎉
Great content Matt - good to put a spotlight on the hardworking faces working behind the scenes. Given the topic of this video, I suppose now would be a good time to give a massive thanks to you. About 7 years ago, I was working in a dead-end job that I really disliked having tried and failed to get into media. After seeing your work on Palmers, I picked up the camera again and began content creating. Having bought a second hand video camera, I started volunteering for my local rugby team in Wales - gaining experience and making connections. That eventually converted into a full-time media job with Ospreys Rugby. I've since carved out a full-time career within media and comms that eventually led me to the media team at Swansea City. While there have been a lot of incredible moments, I can pin-point the "lightbulb" moment to take a chance on sports media down to your Palmers + Last Week Vlogs all those years ago. While you're subs and viewer counts are impressive, one thing you can't get analytics on is the intangibles of influence... and your influence certainly helped me turn my hobby into a dream job. Thanks for the influence - or as we say in Wales "Diolch" 👍👍👍
Amazing read Benny! Thanks for the comment and I’m so happy your journey has gone the way it has! Inspiration as you say maybe down to me which is cool to hear but the hard work and drive is all down to you so congratulations on landing the dream job! 👏
So much content in season seven, VIP matches, Otr on the road series and now a social media officer for a woking match. Nice to meet Dan in today’s video. Hopefully you go to Kingstonian match January 2nd because they do a raffle for you to have a attempt on. Thank you for the video 😊 Groundsman at Wealdstone And kit manager at Maidstone United are two suggestions from me
I loved this video!!! Great concept and Dan seems lovely, passionate, and professional. Not many folks get a chance to see all that it takes to put on a professional (or semi-professional) sports match. Really impressive.
Come down to Scunthorpe, Smiv! Things are not going our way as of late but would love to show you how things operate at a former EFL club adapting to life in the National League from behind the scenes.
Fantastic video Matt! Keep up the great content like this. You definitely need to do build up and matchday as a kit manager and groundsman. That would be class.
The press officer at BHAFC started out doing the Fanzine Scars and Stripes many moons ago and is now in charge of the media team at a Premier League team. The dreams can happen.
Referee for the day?👀😂 go behind the scenes of what it’s like for the ref from when they arrive before they leave? Pre match briefing to the refs assistants and captains etc
I live in Switzerland and want to travel to England just to see Woking Fc. I have been a supporter since Nassim Akrour, Warren Patmore, Jamie Pitman and more.
With the January transfer window around the corner, could you please follow someone in scouting/recruiting? It would be cool to see their perspective. Thanks Smiv! & Thanks to Dan, he's a real professional!
Great video mate! Would love for you to be the kit director for my local team Southend United, as it would be very interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes when sorting out what kit you would have to wear on what matchday etc.
Idk if this is impressive or not but I think the song is The Boys are Back In Town by Thin Lizzy! Regardless, great video smiv and I hope some people get a good insight from this.
One note of that copyrighted song and as a Luton Town fan, I already know it. Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy. We used that the entrance theme for years. COYH
This was surreal 🤯 thanks for checking out our club!
Thanks for a great experience Dan! Keep up the great work! Up the Cards
@@smivadee you should come down on New Year’s Day for derby day

Love this Smiv, really shows how much work goes into Non-League, would love to see you have a go as a kit man
Really enjoyed the video - I've got to say the York City commentator really impressed me with the way he handled the 2nd goal, did a really good job building the moment up
Yeah was great, felt like I was listening to the radio, then I realised it was for the radio, was superb!
I used to be one of those guys who worked for the local paper in Woking and sat in that press box! Dan and Connor are top lads as well as the rest who work at the club. Top video at a great club. Thank you.

Just to add to this. David Ward is the BBC Radio York commentator and as you can tell he’s very energetic but does tell the story well
5:23 the boys are back in town!!

I think you're correct on the song. My first guess was Rock and Roll All Nite by KISS.
Would love to see you working the canteen, provided of course you can turn the grill on and make sure Dr Pepper is stocked
light work that!
As someone who is trying to break into the football media industry, love this video! Thanks Smiv!
