    I understand that "black" is Tatu's way of saying "that is COOL."

    It should be said that Loulis learned ASL from his troop (Washoe the matriarch) as no humans were allowed to sign around Loulis. It was part of a program where they wanted to see if the chimps would teach a baby (yes, he was a baby 42 year's ago) chimp ASL or not. Obviously, they did and we now have Lou throwing around his vocabulary! :)
    He is special to me and my family. We like to see him happy. Wishing many more years of chase and tug of war.

      I heard about that story. Its fascinaing. I cant find anything on the internet. I heard they even sat this group free again in Africa and they thought their young ones still ASL.
